ParticipantYes, he made a deal then…makes sense, but with whom did he deal? My first guess was August but he was also awol in Phuket. Could THIS have a tie to the organization of Tamara and Greg!!
Probably not…fun to speculate though ![adrotate group="5"]“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. ParticipantUnless she is entirely in a flashback sequence…they don’t have to show her meeting Peter, I mean within that back story. It could be an earlier part of the story.

ParticipantI don’t think anyone has said Henry was a bad guy–I just said his father didn’t think much of him. His father though was kind of a power mad guy (shades of King George…..) so his not having a good opinion actually was supposed to make us feel the opposite.
I imagine Cora belittled her husband as his father did–and in wonderland it appears she actually made him tiny. Regina gets some mushroom and says “a little snack” before Henry appears again.
I’m not sure how much Once:Wonderland will go into any backstory from Once, I had the impression it wouldn’t but would focus on other characters. So Cora might appear, but she’ll just already be in power is my guess. Though I would love to see her rise to power.

ParticipantI’m sure the writer’s explanation is that it was fate, but the thing is what did the writers have Regina herself believe? Was she saying “oh yeah, fate, just not getting a baby…..” or was she saying “Yes, adoptions can take awhile, I have to be patient” not suspecting that the curse itself prevented any other child from heading her way? If she had access to information about the outside world, then she had to know the average wait time is far less than 18 years. It can take time, sure, and much less time the less standards you impose on what type of child you would want. Did she fill out forms and get rejected by “official” channels?
What caused her to turn to Gold given he did not have his memories, and she knew he didn’t? Is that a writing goof?“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Now, Belle. I’m still not sure what Belle is meant to be in the universe of OUaT, princess, nobles, gentry or the daughter of a (rich) merchant. Is it any important for the story of Rumple and Belle? Probably not, but it’s important for her story – and I don’t want to see Belle’s story just as an extension of Rumple’s.
I agree it’s unclear what her status is, except that she is the daughter of a man of some power there. She clearly talks about “her people” so in her mind she has responsibility, whether or not she had power to go along with that sense of duty. I don’t see her as being status conscious as Cora, so it doesn’t matter to her what title she may or may not have, except as it could affect her ability to help and be a heroine.
I am one of those people who is also fascinated by the question of government in this world. Especially as we see Regina back in the Mayor’s office. No one has the power to boot her out, I suppose, except Rumpel and he doesn’t care to bother about it right now.
Yet the assumption of going back to FTL, not only raises the question of who will govern and how, but also what kinds of professions will everyone then take on?Belle became a librarian. Should they go back to FTL–could Belle be a champion of literacy and handing out books to keep the society from reverting into a bunch of helpless peasants? I like the idea of them bringing back the good parts of modern life 😛

ParticipantEven if it is fate, why was Regina not suspicious that 18 years pass before suddenly Gold has a baby? Adoption can take awhile but 18 years? Perhaps she was really picky –has to be a baby, boy, brown hair etc. I could see her giving Gold a list of demands.

ParticipantWell we never know in Once if they will mash a character–she could be both ….though I would prefer if she is one or the other, and they are being coy.

ParticipantI think Regina is probably a very capable administrator, and aside from when she’s bat crazy trying to get revenge, has that “commitment to excellence” that makes her an efficient, though not very compassionate, ruler.
I also wonder if she is nice to “the help” as a lingering sort of thing from Daniel being her stable boy….though she isn’t so nice she won’t squash or step on them for the slightest infraction.
😆 😆 😆 at the fishy fisherman!

ParticipantNow that I look at the transcript, it does stick out as rather odd:
Grumpy: It’s why I’m stuck in this hole. I had it bad. She was beautiful as a fairy. But I lost her. I was desperate to get her back, so I came up with a plan. I worked at the diamond mines. Traded all my wages to the foreman for a diamond to propose. But I got swindled. It was a stolen rock and I took the blame. I’m no thief, but they think I am. Should’ve known better. But I wasn’t thinking clearly – all cause of love. And now here I am – trapped – with no way out.
So that’s what he said in 7;15 am when he met Snow. Why did he say “beautiful as a fairy”…transcript could be wrong, but I guess that implies she isn’t a fairy.
This potential plot hole makes me ..grumpy 😉

ParticipantThey have dwarves who love to work and magic. I’m sure they can manage a hut if not something nicer.
