ParticipantFireQueen has a ring to it, but I agree with everything PriceofMagic said. If the writers go this way, they will have a lot of work to do to make it seem natural.

ParticipantRumpel would approve of being devious right? I am not voting for Barney & Robin, as they are too popular. So voting for the less popular half of the other couples.

I think they’ll invent a reason for the characters to stay in SB rather than go back to FTL. A possible one is the need to protect SB’s magic bubble from outsiders wanting to seize its magic for their questionable ends, since I doubt the characters leaving would mean the end of the bubble.
That’s a good point!

I personally feel Regina should have at least one biological,
Why? The show is getting enough flack as it is over not portraying the bonds of adoption as every bit as real and strong as biological ties. I believe the showrunners did not consciously choose to write scenes with an agenda of being anti-adoption, but they did make some choices that could imply otherwise. Making a big deal of a biological child for Regina would not help.
If you’re curious about the choices:
- They chose to have the evil queen adopt rather than the heroine princess. When Regina says genetics mean nothing, we’re supposed to be sympathizing with Emma.
They chose that neither Emma or August were adopted by someone loving (at least that we knew).
They chose to have Zoso question whether Bae was biologically Rumpel’s and to say it would be ironic if he were not Rumpel’s biological son, with Rumpel’s response being to stab Zoso in anger. They could have had Rumpel say something like “I don’t care, he will ALWAYS be my boy, ” then kill Zoso.
They had Neal saying Rumpel is still his blood, rather than father who raised him.
Cora never expressed love for Henry. Granted, she did not have a heart and we were meant to assume that she was only after the dagger. When she had her heart back for example, they did not give her a line to express regret she never got to even meet Henry.
Pinocchio is sort of the counter example I guess, but even there Gepetto sort of made him.

Thank you for opening up and sharing that, AngieBelle.
I have to say, of all the boards I’ve seen on the web about Once Upon A Time, this one is filled with the most kind, clever, decent, mature, intelligent people. It has been refreshing to see the conversations about so many different theories and passions and opinions be discussed in such a way.
I don’t have to live in fear of getting my head chewed off for any dumb theory I may have, and want to share, and at the opposite end, the maturity level when someone disagrees with another poster is quite above every other board I have visited. Respect for one another seems to be the norm.I remember when I first started googling stuff about OUAT, (during my Marathon in November and again in January) I would get links to this board. Oh what I world that opened up to me!! 😆
I want to thank Daniel for facilitating these boards in the way he does. Really it all comes from the top down, and his character I think is revealed in the culture of the board. So thank you Daniel! For the podcast, for everything, and for setting the bar for a respectful, fun forum. 🙂
^This.
I wish I had been thoughtful enough to say all that because I agree 100%.
AngieBelle–Yikes 😳 about the Disboards, I had no idea! I am so sorry, if I had known, I would never have mentioned it. I only came across it three years or so ago, and had no idea it could be so hostile. Well, I won’t be unlurking there any time soon!

I see Granny as being one of those characters that is beloved by the entire town and I think her death will affect a lot of different people in a lot of different ways. I wonder how she dies though. My guess is Tamara kills her with the taser.
I agree. Let’s face it, SB Sheriff Department is so lacking the way they are being written that Tamara could run Granny over with her SUV down Mainstreet and Emma and David would not notice. They don’t have to channel CSI or Sherlock Holmes, but come on, they should at least have gone into the police station. Pinnochio called them from there and the line died. I’d love it if the show poked fun at its own plot-gap-let, but it will probably be death by Taser, explained as heart attack by everyone, until (gasp) they put two and two together at the last minute. Then it is too late to stop Henry being kidnapped by GOAT.
As for Granny’s diner, I think they may reverse the pattern of season one–flashbacks are in SB, present day is in FTL.

Participant😀 I am also glad to have found this board too. I enjoy being able to discuss the show in far greater detail than anyone I know in real life would care to do !
As you’re a Disney fanatic, have you ever been on the Disboards, Angiebelle? Might be something to do while the hiatus slows down the activity. I’ve only lurked there when planning trips to Disneyland/Disneyworld. I remember seeing threads on costumes and things like that. Not sure how much discussion there is outside of trips, but it can be fun to read about people’s experiences (more fun when I’m anticipating a trip myself!) There was a thread on fancy disney cakes people ordered in the parks that was pretty neat.

I’d actually love it if this happened, because it would mean that Hook and Nealfire will be face to face and will interact, which is something I desperately want to see. Just imagine, Hook bursts in to lunge at Rumple, and Nealfire gets in the way all, “Back off my Papa, Hook,” and Hook’s eyes bug out all, “Well, you’re a tad taller than the last time I saw you, son,” then Rumple’s eyes bug out all, “Watch who you’re calling son.”
There hopefully will be a very interesting backstory between them, with lots of flashbacks. I like MJR, but Dylan Schmidt was the original Bae so I want to see the dots connected a little on how the character grew to get where he was in Tallahassee.

Wasn’t it mentioned somewhere that Wonderland would have a shorter season, (if it gets picked up)? {SNIP} The more we’ve heard about it, the more I think that what they have in mind for Wonderland will actually compliment Once in just the right way.
I think it will compliment it. I read that the show runners referenced American Horror Story for the “complete story” in a season idea. I hope it is not too creepy like that show, but if it has mystery and a bit of darkness, that’s ok. I really want a complete story arc in a season so we have some main character with a happy (or not) ending.
