The series coming out on Netflix helped. As did promoting the DVD release and word of mouth. I think a lot of people are going to get back into once they can watch all of season 2 in one go because it does get complicated if you aren’t…well…us.
😆 So true…The Popups for the enhanced version were almost comical because every scene required some explanation that the pop up could barely cover. If someone truly had not been watching all along, those popups would have done so little for them.

That is a great explanation. All the timeline jumping obscures connections like that.

I agree. Tamara has to work into this somehow. She has to be the tie that brings this altogether. I was convinced that she was the daughter of the godmother that Rumple killed but how would she work into the M/A/P (MAP! ha) story?? If she’s been in our world this entire time then she wouldn’t even know MAP.
So then we have to look outside that fairy godmother story. Since they appear to all be in NL, then maybe she’s a NL character. Tinkerbell? (But then why wouldn’t Neal know her?) Ursula the Sea Witch? (I didn’t like this theory but maybe?)MAP! Good shorthand term.
The FairyGodmother may not be out completely, though I don’t think the story is headed this way. There is one thing that makes me wonder though. Aurora says that Maleficient cursed her mother, Phillip and her. Yet when we saw Maleficient, she seemed content with her unicorn, and she had traded away her sleeping curse. So maybe she did not cast the sleeping curse on Aurora (just on her mother), or turn Phillip into the monster. Maybe that was the work of the Fairy Godmother Rumple killed, and why he said no one would miss her. As to why the fairygodmother would do that, well if she had fallen in love and had a child (Tamara), even though she was not supposed to do so, that might have corrupted her magic. Though I’m not sure how Tamara would have gotten to the Land without Magic in that case.
The Ursula theory is growing on me too, simply because I want Ariel in the story. It definitely connects to the Wraith too, since Ursula kept souls.
So many theories…so much time until we find anything out for sure!“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. The Other Side Of The Mirror podcast got an email after Selfless, Brave and True from someone who shipped August and Neal. WoodenFire? Sounds doomed.
😳 😆

I’d be pretty bummed if we only saw NL in flashbacks. I want us to be there for real. There’s so much we could do there! Pirates, mermaids, ect.
I agree with Phee, I’m starting to think Granny’s going to be the one who goes. Else, why would she be there in the first place?Granny is definitely vulnerable. She’s in a position as innkeeper to learn something she shouldn’t about GOAT, and Tamara is more than willing to kill (at least magical folk) to keep her secrets. I’m not sure if Granny is still “magical” as it seems she doesn’t transform anymore, but someone posted something about how even a regular taser could kill someone with a heart condition.

When Neal asked Tamara to come to Storybrooke, wasn’t he concerned that Tamara would have to get her stuff from the storage cupboard where Emma had put Hook, the guy who had just stabbed his father?
How did that conversation go?
Neal: Tamara, darling, when you open the storage cupboard to get your stuff, there may be a guy in there with a hook for a hand. Take no notice of him.
Tamara: There’s no guy in the cupboard.
Neal: Oh crap!
Wasn’t Neal ever worried that Hook may have hurt Tamara? Especially since Emma described Hook as a “stab-happy pirate”.
You have to save that dialog for the caption threads!
I think there are 3 possibilities to explain Neal not being worried that Hook would hurt Tamara.
1) Maybe he knew Hook well enough to feel confident Hook would not stab anyone other than Rumpel or someone who attacked him. That would fit in with the theory that Neal and Hook were friends.2)Maybe he didn’t think that far ahead because it is not his personality to think too far ahead. He’s just the kind of guy who flys by the seat of his pants all the time, let alone in a crisis situation like that. (A funny expression for a character who may turn out to be Peter Pan). A contrast to his Papa, the cautious, master manipulator.
3) He knew Tamara could handle herself, even though he didn’t know about her magic taser and ulterior motives.

Well Show writer Jane Epenson has a project called “Husbands”…I’m not sure what it was exactly, she talked about it on the blog talk radio interview with Barbara Barnett that someone linked on these forums.

You sound like you really know what you’re talking about. Do you have anything to do with the production of the show?
😆 I am just repeating what I have read on fansites, particular the spoiler ones that monitor casting calls. It fit with the very little I know about employment law and years of reading entertainment news stories, but who knows, you can’t trust everything you read. I do know this though, even without an option in the contract, the actor and the show could always agree to different arrangements if it suits both (and that is a question of money and other commitments).
I don’t think the showrunners plan to reduce Hook’s role anytime soon so don’t worry. Far as MJR…well, that is a different story. We don’t know why they made his role recurring, it could be because they planned a small story arc or he didn’t want to commit to more, or it could be because they had not decided yet what might happen for Season 3 and didn’t want to commit to anything.

ParticipantJolly, I understand you feel this thread should only be for “pro-cs” statements, rather like stating a favorite scene or line. People don’t debate who likes what on those threads, each person just tosses up what resonated for them.
The thing is, this thread also has posters discussing, predicting and analyzing the relationship between Emma and Hook. So what happens when people agree partially or have different views than you do that CS are a OTP cannon “endgame” magically true love couple? Do we need a thread for each variation of a relationship between CS? I do agree people should refrain from long arguments about why Emma belongs with someone else, because there are other threads for that. But where can you discuss the shades in between your view and something more like a “hey I just met you, call me maybe?” situation?

As for the ‘fun in vegas’ thing- That was ages ago! That was when the cast, writers, directors were trying to not give any hints that CS was going to happen. I wouldn’t take that too seriously. You’re looking at one little quote from an interview and ignoring the hundreds of other evidence that shows us CS is happening and, as they say, ‘canon’. What you should look at is, the chemistry, Paleyfest (that was huge for CS), as well as more recent interviews.
That interview was dated the first week of January this year. Two and a half months is “ages ago”? There have been more recent interviews though that continue the mixed messages. I wish I could have links handy for all of them, but I’m not that organized so maybe someone else can point you to some of them.
Look at Adam’s use of the words “lots of” to avoid confirming CaptainSwan in response to fa6oum who asked about it. “Lots of Emma and lots of Hook”. You posted that twitter conversation on March 27 in this thread. Why didn’t he just say “Lots of Emma and Hook.” in response? I think it would flow more naturally, except it would lend more support of them as a couple so maybe he wanted to avoid that. Then, they had a similar cryptic response about Emma and Neal in the TvGuide Lightning Round Interview of March 13. They don’t say there is hope, but that on this show, one should never give up hope. They were also asked on the podcast of the last episode about a Neal and Emma romance in the future . I can’t find a transcript or listen to it again right now, but again, they answer was not a “no” or a “yes” but something in between that would let listeners think what they want.
It’s easy to misread things when we really want a certain result to be true.
Let’s take your response to an earlier post by SnowywhiteRoseRed as an example. You say Snowy has a contradiction in the post. I’ll edit down to the relevant parts of what you both said.

[SNIp] But the show has made it pretty clear that you only get one soul mate, and Hook’s is dead. Plus, Hook plays dirty with all the women. He didn’t really love her, he was just being a player. And the fact that Hook is step-dad to the father of her son (seriously, the relationships in this are insane) makes this all just wrong. [SNIP]
[SNIP]
And you’ve contradicted yourself, you said that Milah was his true love and then you’ve said that he never really loved her..Read the part I colored blue in Snowy’s post. What makes the most sense is that Snowy is referring to Hook never really having loved Emma, not never having loved Milah. Otherwise, Snowy would have been saying that Hook is Rumplestilskin’s step-dad. I wouldn’t put it past the show to toss that twist our way, but for now, I cannot give you a scene or quote to back up my view that Hook is NOT Rumpel’s stepdad. Some things you just have to infer from what we ARE shown.
Now the point that Hook is a series regular is interesting. People can drop from regular to recurring (didn’t that happen to Hopper?). They can also go from recurring to regular—and I thought MJR’s contract had an option for the show to pick him up as a regular. Only thing I can say for sure is that Neal has more people to mourn for him, than does Hook. And at this point in the story, we have not been shown much reason for Emma to mourn Hook. Things can always change.
