ParticipantThe name was in the credits for the next episode for the character Chris Gorham is playing, that is how people know the name will be Walsh. People have speculated it has references to “Green” or to an actor who played a flying monkey in the Oz movie, or to the musical group Kansas (their biggest hits were Carry On my Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind) –but it’s not the most obvious name to be connected to Oz.

ParticipantThey could but I think it fits the gorham character’s story–maybe he IS Dorothy’s son but cannot be trusted (wayward)

Participantthat is dangerously close to a rick roll!

ParticipantFate has been cruel to almost ALL of the characters, yet few reach her level of evil acts. I’m not sure what you are trying to say that “life need not have conspired against her!” Not true there’d be no story in that! I guess you’re concentrating on the set of choices she gets, and I’m looking at what she actually picked, because I note her set of choices wasn’t so limited as to be no choice at all.

ParticipantRumple tempted Regina, but she did have free will and choice. She did have Tinkerbell offering her support, plus others who wanted to offer her help but she chose differently. Minimizing Regina’s agency undermines the beauty of her redemption, the choices she makes and that struggle in favor of a storyline that would essentially minimize her guilt with “Oh it wasn’t her fault, she wasn’t supposed to be the Evil Queen, therefore all the nasty things she did doesn’t count and its all Rumple’s fault for apprenticing the wrong girl.” I’d rather they didn’t do that.
Instead, I want them to show the present day contrast, not say “it could have been worse”. Show us Wicked, and show us who Regina is now that she had the experiences she’s had and made the changes she’s made. S1 Regina might have met Wicked head on and not cared who got hurt–I want to see Regina standing up for the townspeople, not just Henry. I want to see her truly continuing to earn her redemption–and kicking some Wicked broom too of course.
Along the lines of the past though, I think Cora once said she had “no reason to cheat [Rumple] anymore”–implying she did once cheat him. Perhaps there’s something to that, but I wonder as Phee said at the coarse fabric in the pictures. A Pre-Miller’s daughter baby might make better sense.

ParticipantThat song Carry on my Wayward Son has some ominous lyrics to it.

I love that and dust in the wind but hm….wonder where they’re going with this if its an intentional nod.

ParticipantWhat if the baby daddy is Eva’s father or brother? Eva tripped Cora and it looked like she had an instinctive desire to hurt her, perhaps there’s history there where Eva as a young girl saw Cora, but Cora didn’t realize who she was. Maybe Cora’s father was once a well-to-do miller.
In fact, I’ve kind of been wondering if they might touch “Puss in Boots” at some point as it too references a miller AND a shape-shifting ogre, and a talking cat of course who wants some footwear, but not sure how or where that would fit in.

ParticipantThe planned that stuff out. Their acting choices are so full of nuances….sigh. I hope they get more scenes together soon!

ParticipantMy daughter ‘s valentine party at school turned up a valentine saying that would be perfect for SF
“Valentine: I’ve got your back“. (It was a teenage mutant Ninja turtle one).

ParticipantI agree, it was a touch of retcon and nothing was shown on screen, only implied. For all we know, Pan corrupted a sleeper cell organized by some other people who truly were trying to fight magic invasions!
I”ve been speculating elsewhere that Pan was “working diagonally” ala Rumple in season 1 who hijacked (well manipulated and partially created) the feud between Snow and Regina for his own reasons. What if that is the case here? What if Pan took advantage of “the Home Office” that Dorothy created to fight Oz, or well vice versa, not sure who’s playing who just yet. I think the writers had Oz in mind for a long time, as there was a random tweet from Jane a year ago about Dorothy. We know they’ve had flying monkeys in the book. I think it was a “back of their mind” thing but the exact connection is something they probably marked out in the camp they did late last fall/winter to arc out the spring season. So the previous season (2b) may have had hints they’re now rerouting elsewhere as GOAT aren’t going to be part of it obviously.
