I could see the Yellow Brick Road being a portal, but it is hard to know until the writers reveal more of their plans.  They might be changing a lot in their storytelling  for next mini-season, knowing the ratings did not improve and Wonderland tanked.

I like the idea Hook’s coming from SB on the magic ship, and some reverse curse thing already happened.

I don’t think for a second Hook would willingly work for WWW as Hook’s goal is to get Emma to love him.  He can’t do that with tricks or magic, so I don’t see him partnering up as he did with Cora.  Revenge is a different thing than love, and he has expressed a desire  to be more honorable and circumspect to really impress Emma.

The WWW could trick Hook though, make him think she’s just a concerned ….someone…who is “invested in their future”  (pull a page from Rumple’s book maybe?) and say she wants to help Hook find Emma, that if he doesn’t, her family would be in trouble (to make sure he feels some urgency to it so as not to question her story), and that he has to bring Emma somewhere.  Then  (Admiral Ackbar voice…) IT’S A TRAP….but it’s not like Hook knew about it.

As for why not anyone else, well, there could be lots of reasons.  We just don’t have enough context to do more than wild guesses at a dart board.  (Graham can throw mine).

I saw this one Ranisha, and I’ve missed replying to some things further up the chain.

I hope that things do not get spoiled either, because I feel it has more impact.  Even though we do it to ourselves to speculate, react based on incomplete information it is still nice to be caught off guard with SF as it is closer to how I think  Neal feels to Emma.  He just surprises her but it is generally positive, and they work through the bits that are not.  He apologizes, and listens, perhaps internalizes it, she gets angry, vents but lets things go.  They compliment each other because their fights really did not escalate as out of control as they could if they understood and cared about each other less.  I don’t feel they have a toxic vibe to them where every conversation leaves one or the other hurt or annoyed in some way.  Yes they have had emotional, angst filled things to discuss but there are hints that if they could get through the atermath of their fairytale and self-doubt , problems their dynamic together would be more lighthearted and supportive in general.

They dropped a breadcrumb that Henry had a camera in NY when they went to find “Gold’s son”–odd given how cameras are built in smart phones, and we saw Emma with a smart phone too on the beach.  We saw Neal use a device (and lose it, ouch) too like that, so I think if it is Neal’s apartment and a photo–it could be one he took that day/night they all met, or that Henry did.  The Snow/MM pic that was in the loft with Emma would be back in SB or a field or something, or in Emma’s new apartment perhaps with fake memories attached to it.

The molding and dreamcatcher do seem like the ones he had, but she also may be somewhere else entirely.

Neal and Tamara would not mean much to Emma, nor even young Neal and Emma, unless her memory erased him and how she got that car. So then seeing a photo of her with a man she does not remember next to a car she does own might throw her.  Yet I think the most dramatic  “not possible” thing  for Emma to see is a photo of 11 year old Henry with her and Neal.

Thing is, it did not seem like Neal had tons of time for that in Manhattan (the episode), but they did go to get Pizza.  Henry mentioned needing to go get his camera before the museum.    So maybe that was the next day (weren’t  the clothes different?). These days you can send a photo from your phone and pick it up in an hour even from lots of places, or print yourself but Neal doesn’t seem that into technology other than his smartphone, so if there was a night between these scenes that is long enough and I could see proud papa Neal doing just that, snapping and framing a picture.  Especially as there were not any framed photos that we saw of Tamara that I recall either from S1 broken when we were scouring for clues to “Mystery Man”‘s identity  or  the later apartment shots.  The closest thing was a woman’s bowling trophy, which might have been part of the vintage odds and ends he had.

So if it is Neal’s apartment and a picture Neal had, that seems like a new picture versus what Gold or Emma could have seen.

WR–  Obviously, you WANT the wicked sister’s thing–but it isn’t the most logical thing to happen.  The thing with logic is, you can’t really rule things out or in so definitively.  It is a story, and one with magic.  Many crazy things are possible!

What I do think is they’ve given no indication up til now that there was another child that Cora had.  So I wouldn’t put “Wicked Sisters” very high up on the list, but sure, it is possible.  Cousins are also very likely, as Cora complained of not being directly in line for the throne, and we never did find out why that was.

Second, if they do a flashback sequence for Charming, whether it is about James or Charming, it could involve some quest to discover his father’s history for all we know.  We know so little of the plot to be able to  logically say  at this point, and for all we know,  Josh will play David’s Dad in HIS younger days!  (Good looking family, isn’t it?)

Above anything though, I really want more of Maleficient’s story, so I am just so partial to tying WWW to her.   Since they made the mistake of killing her off too fast, next best thing is to follow it up Oz style with her sister swooping in (and could even have a line like, you dropped a town on my sister! since Regina made her the fail-safe guardian under the town).

This  is a very interesting topic, but first,  I definitely have to disagree that there aren’t a lot of stories with magic outside a medieval setting–I can think of so many, including some used in OUAT!  Peter Pan and Frankenstein may not be modern computer age but they aren’t medieval either.  They name-checked Splash, another Disney “modern day setting” one.  Disney has a lot more, too many to list, but I will ramble offhand a dozen stories with magic in various settings of modernity: Odd life of Timothy Green, Wizards of Waverly Place, Princess and the Frog, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Freaky Friday, Toy Story, Enchanted, and because they licensed Miyzaki’s works, Spirited Away, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Borrowers, and through licensing, another thing now a Disney property that I personally would throw in is Star Wars because, as  Arthur C CLarke I think said any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.   Does a light sabre count as technology? Not according to  Han Solo, for as he put it, “Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.”  So there’s a glimpse at magic as religion as “science” with the whole Jedi thing.

Anyhow….modern day magic stories being common aside (and I didn’t even get into all the plethora of vampire/witch stories out there as dark fantasy), far as OUAT–there have been some oddly inconsistent mentions of religion in the Ef–a lot of the characters say “My gods” sometimes, then others “my god.” We know Ursula was a goddess, and was actually a powerful if mostly inactive figure, in that she animated a statue to reach through a mirror to threaten Regina for taking her name, yet apparently was long thought dead.

I’ve always wondered what the BF thinks of being a Nun.   It’s not a topic I’ll ever expect they’ll explore, but oh well, limits of television.

The saddest thing is he could have had the best “fend off the rabid fans” answer: “I ship everyone with Happy-ness”.   If he answered that and only that–everyone would have laughed and no PR mess.

I love Snowing scenes, but I wonder what the new storyline for them as a couple is going to be?  Are they going to follow up on Snow’s wish, especially as they think they’re irrevocably separated from Emma?  They’ll always be a family, was what Snow said.  I don’t think it’s selfish of Snow, but at the same time, I could see the writers playing up some tension with Charming wanting to find Emma and Snow wanting to settle down and focus on the second child, knowing Emma is happy where she is.  Just to play up the drama that is!
