I totally agree with you! I thought the same while watching SSTTR. If you really love someone I think you’re much more influenced by the persons death. Like you said, you’d be incapacitated with grief and Emma wasn’t in my opinion. She was sad, but mostly because of Henry – because he lost his dad.
Thanks 🙂 it makes me feel better. Logically, everything the show has shown us so far is that Emma and Neal aren’t TL. But of course there’s a niggle of doubt. Someone put Emma under the sleeping curse!!! 🙂

I think she was devastated but like I said, not in a romantic way. It wasn’t about her pain, her primary concern was for Henry.
I really hope not in a romantic way. Maybe at some stage in the series they’ll kill him off – the guy who plays him his great, but I find Neal kind of boring character to be honest. No real substance there.

I don’t think Hook will simply step aside once Neal returns. Remember his motto: a man who doesn’t fight for what he wants, deserves what he gets. The only exception to that would be if Emma asked him to step aside and (he’d probably fight it at first) but stop pursuing her if being with Neal is what she wants.
He might need to be reminded of that motto though. He did seem genuinely shocked and saddened that Neal was dead (and also that he was Henry’s father) so the guilt of taking Emma from someone he wanted to be a father figure to might blind him.
Baelfire couldn’t be on The Jolly Roger for more than a week. Hook probably cared for him and genuinely wanted to be some kind of father figure for him but that didn’t happen b/c Bae rejected him and Hook was forced to turn him over to Peter Pan. But both of them were bonded through Milah. so they do have a relationship in a way.
I wouldn’t say Hook was forced to turn him over though, would you?? He seemed to deem it in his best interests. He got what he needed from Bae, and Bae had rejected him, so he turned back to his revenge. I would say they have a familial relationship, but not an emotional one. They don’t depend on each other for emotional stability like a real family would.

I saw this last on tumblr and loved it so I could post it here when I had the chance. until we get a better view of what type of sword, Emma’s holding, this is all speculation. the sword is probably not the long one he carries with him but a short sword.
Ha, it looks like a short sword alright. I was close enough with dagger. In the pic Emma’s looking up at him in… confusion?… so maybe he gave it to her so he would teach her to use it. She said “getting ready to fight” so maybe he has an idea of how she can do that 🙂
I was looking at the Swanfire thread (awful idea I know, it just makes me feel bad) and some of the things that were said in the last few hours bothered me a bit. They were talking about how Hook will stand back from Emma when Neal comes back into it (which I think is likely to happen, but obviously hoping CS is endgame). They were saying that Hook having a relationship with Emma is crossing emotional lines, because Hook has a relationship with Neal already. But do Hook and Neal really have a relationship?? I mean, they spent a couple of days on a boat together and bonded a little, but then Baelfire rejected him. It’s been 300 years – can we still say they have a relationship?
Also they were saying that from one of the deleted scenes that Hook knows that Neal could want Emma back. Obviously they both think he’s dead now. Do you think that might stop Hook from persuing anything because of this supposed relationship he and Bae had? Also I couldn’t help that notice (from a neutral standpoint, I swear!) that Emma wasn’t devastated by Neals death in ASOTM. She was very sad at the end of SSTTR of course, but i’m thinking that could be she was mourning the death of her sons father, the man she was once in love with. She rallied after that. I can’t help but think that if, for example, Snow or Charming had died, the other one would be incapacitated with grief, failsafe or no failsafe. Like Rumple – he didn’t care to do anything about the failsafe when he learned that his son was dead. This really says to me that Emma and Neal CAN’T be TL, logically, because TL is timeless etc. Emma didn’t really show much sadness in ASOTM, to me anyway.
Any thoughts?

Not entirely unexpected, for me anyway 🙂 Emma’s the only one who really ties them all together so that only makes sense 🙂 so excited!!!

No, in reference to the promo image we got today from the 3×01.
I wouldn’t say so, particularly. Emma is wearing the same clothes in both scenes.
Was it actually confirmed that that picture of Hook and Emma was from 3×01?? Excitement!!! 🙂

I tend to disagree with a price for every type of magic. There is always a price when used for selfish reasons, but not necessarily for example, saving an entire town from complete destruction or magically whisking an object out of thin air. I think the failsafe diamond was a diversion used to distract everyone from GOAT’s main objective: kidnapping Henry, and would have happened whether or not magic was used to save Storybrooke. I suppose you could argue a price for all the types of magic we’ve seen, I just think it’s more important to find the price vs. the intent of the magic used.
Oh runaroundmacy, you just took the words straight out of my mouth! The motive HAS to be important. I’m not sure Emma will ever have to pay “the price” because her magic is made from good emotions, which are based on doing the right thing. We’ll have to see though 🙂

I think it could mean the scene is about Nealfire. Hook and Emma would be discussing Neal/Bae.
Ah. Maybe! I hope so actually. They really need to get some things out in the open. Although that wouldn’t explain the thing Emma has in her hand…. could it possibly be a dagger? I wish we could get a clear close up!

I think thesword Bae used to confront Hook in SOTM was one he stole from a random JR crew member.You mean they think the scene from the promo is actually Emma talking to Neal? Really? Why would they think that? Hook and Emma are very visible, in that scene, TOGETHER.
