I liked this episode. Lots of character development and reveals. Though many of my theories went right out the window. And I haven’t watched the second part yet, so sorry if some ideas are redundant or disproved right away
Liked:
Regina without magic was hilarious. She was whiny, her hair was flat, and her wardrobe left something to be desired. I loved it. I’d still like some backstory on how they stole her magic and how she managed to escape once they did. But I kind of like whiny, former, Evil Queen.
I had suspicions that Rapunzel was actually Mother Gothel, but it wasn’t until she started seducing Wish Hook that I was sure.
I think it makes perfect sense that Wish Hook would stay with his own child. Especially, when it was the child’s mother abandoning her. He obviously had a soft spot for his mother and considering how he’s been abandoned, he doesn’t want that life for Alice. He can’t even give her up because she can’t leave the tower.
Rumple is definitely awake!
Roni’s awake wardrobe. Notice how much more covered up she was in this episode
Mixed:
Are we ever going to find out why Victoria has custody of Lucy? Was she giving Jacinda leeway at the beginning of the season by letting Lucy live with her? If Victoria has legal custody why would Jacinda think she would get Lucy?
Dislike:
Rogers was looking for someone who was brushed off as a runaway teenager. Mother Gothel is much too old to be Eloise Gardner. Is he really that desperate to find her (and pin Belfry to the wall) that he’s glossing over this glaring fact?

That provides a point for the timeline: Tron: Legacy was released in late 2010, and Regina says she bought the lunchbox for Henry when he was 10. (Of course, Regina could have bought it much later than 2010.) I don’t remember if we already had all that information. The lunchbox looks familiar, from more than just the photo.
I think she bought the lunchbox back in season 2, or at least, that’s when we saw it.
StahlopParticipantDrizella has become my new favorite character. Even though I’m questioning her motivations, she is just so deliciously evil! I’m loving her!
November 10, 2017 at 10:48 pm in reply to: 706 "Wake Up Call" Favorite/Least Favorite Moments #344380StahlopParticipantThis was a good episode. I’m glad we’re finally getting into the season and aren’t dealing with so much exposition anymore.
Liked:
Drizella is positively evil! She’s like Regina, Rumple, and Zelena combined. Revenge, over-zealous Mother, and sister envy all combined into one. It’s truly delicious to watch. And here I thought Ivy was going to be a one-note character.
Regina is now awake! She’s never had to deal with being both so I wonder how that will affect her, and her wardrobe.
I really want to know how Drizella tweaked this curse. Does Henry die if it’s broken? Will Regina spend the rest of the season figuring out how to circumvent that from happening? She and Rumple are definitely going to be teaming up in the future. Hopefully soon.
Rumple and Regina’s conversation about Belle and the lifetime they lived. Although, I’m not sure why she was so surprised about a fast moving realm. Gideon went through the same thing before he was reset.
Henry’s false memories mirroring Emma’s.
Mixed:
I’m liking the dynamic between Rogers and Tilly, but I’m still leary about his whole missing girl storyline. He said she’s been missing for 10 years so how long has this curse been happening? If she’s real, then she’s either another fairy tale character, or they’ve been cursed for a long time.
I’m very confused about Lucy and what she knows. She’s awake enough to know who Henry and Jacinda really are, but she doesn’t seem to know anything about their lives in the EF 2.0. I’ve been saying that Ella already had her when she met Henry, but now I’m wondering if it’s something else. Maybe she was created by the fairies to help Henry and Ella find each other in the real world, ala Dawn from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Dislike:
I really hated what Regina was wearing in the EF 2.0. It did not fit her character at all. I figured she might go for something a little more like her outfit from Heroes and Villains when she was an outlaw.
While I love how evil Ivy is, Drizella’s motivations and actions seem very petty. She killed a prince to blacken her heart? That escalated pretty quickly. Even Regina took awhile before she went all out crazy evil. Drizella took a few hours?
Are Rumple and Henry going to see each other in the past at all? Except for Regina talking about him, he didn’t even ask to see his grandson. You’d think after Belle’s death he’d want to see family, especially if they’re in the same realm.
StahlopParticipantAnd again I know I mentioned this but…. the book is ILLUSTRATED. How can anyone not know who they are. All Lucy would have to do is flip through the pages and look at the people around her. Emma is illustrated accurately. Why not everyone else
That’s what I keep saying. Wish Hook even looked through it and apparently didn’t see any pictures of himself or Regina? Henry apparently did the illustrations (he told Rogers he drew the picture of Emma) and he doesn’t think Roni or Rogers look familiar in the least.
I’ve mentioned previously that I didn’t think Lucy was truly awake. She seems to only know that Henry and Jacinda are her parents and that Jacinda is Cinderella. She’s never given Henry any specifics about EF 2.0 or anything about their life before the curse. Maybe that’s her curse to bear in this world from whomever cast the curse. To relive the same things her father did.
StahlopParticipantI still feel like Lucy is not fully awake but only has pieces of info. Again, she has not told Henry anything specific about their time before the curse, just that there is a curse. If it weren’t for the flashbacks I’d wonder if she was just a delusional child.
I also still think that Lucy might not be Henry’s biological daughter and that she has already been born in the current flashbacks. I just don’t see how they’re going to show us 10 years and the lack of aging otherwise.
StahlopParticipantI really think that Hook’s child is older because Hook was an old man, then they were all in the Enchanted Forest for 10 years after Lucy was born. Hook should be about 70 years old outside of his time in Neverland. His daughter is probably older.

The only assumption we can make is that the oldest Wish Hook’s child could be is around 30. The Wish Realm veered off course when the Evil Queen was defeated and no curse ever came. So Wish Hook met and impregnated some woman and then that daughter was stolen. I’m assuming the rum belly and aging badly came from his despair over losing his daughter to the witch after she found out he was sneaking in to visit her.I still think Anastasia is his daughter. We don’t know how long she’s been ‘dead’, but I’m assuming she was close to Drizella’s age, which would put her in her 20’s if she hadn’t ‘died’.
StahlopParticipantWhile all that sounds like it would make for funny hijinks, I think Roni would be able to tell from the description and pictures in the book that she is Regina and not Emma.
This is another thing I’m not understanding. Henry both wrote and illustrated his book, as he told Rogers when he asked about Emma’s picture. Plus we know there is the Last Supper picture at the end that shows Regina and Hook in it. How does Henry look at Roni and Rogers and not think to himself that they look just like characters he supposedly made up?
StahlopParticipantDo we know that Roger’s missing girl is the same as Wish Hook’s daughter? I figured they were using it as a parallel but that they weren’t necessarily the same person.
Also, have we figured out how long our fairy tale characters have been under this curse? And do they not age just like the original characters didn’t? I’m confused about how this Eloise Gardner can be real if they’ve only been cursed for a little bit. We saw Lucy in the alternate EF last season and she was the same age, so I feel like this curse can’t have been around for long. Is the guy who was arrested also part of the curse? If the missing girl is part of the curse and possibly Wish Hook’s daughter than my money is still on Anastasia.
StahlopParticipantI was definitely in shock that Ivy/Drizella is awake. She’s putting on a great show for everyone. I think she cast the curse, but I also think it’s different than the original dark curse and the she didn’t need to kill the thing she loved the most. Unless, Anastasia is connected to that in some way. Do we know how long Anastasia’s been ‘dead’? Maybe her death has something to do with the curse and it’s always been in Ivy’s long game.
Also, did Ivy make Victoria think she cast the curse or maybe struck a deal with her to keep her memories, like Rumple did when Fiona cast the dark curse? I don’t know why Ivy didn’t make her a kinder mother if she, in fact, cast the curse, unless she likes the way Victoria treats her.
