StahlopParticipant
I actually did like most of this episode. Lots of information, but also lots of that doesn’t make sense moments.
Liked:
The whole conversation between Nick and Henry. Why did Nick have to finally get interesting? I loved his whole speech about taking Henry out for his birthday and all that. Some great acting on his part.
Henry knows that Lucy is his daughter! Not that he believes it quite yet.
Regina found the moss! Can we please give the cure to Henry ASAP so he can break the curse?
Mixed:
Zelena’s whole arc. I’m glad she’s finally come to terms about how wicked she was and that she finally has someone who loves her, but now she’s leaving?
Jacinda couldn’t figure out Henry wasn’t the one sending the message? The second she said J I knew that was something he never called her.
Not that I wanted the whole Henry being kidnapped thing to drag on, but Rogers figured that out really quickly. And he saves Henry pretty quickly too.
Naveen is awake. Why? And why did Samdi need Sabine’s trust for Nick’s voodoo doll?
Disliked:
How was there an alternative Hansel, Gretel and Witch in Oz? That made absolutely no sense in any way! I can’t even think of the logistics as to how that could be possible.
Just when Nick/Jack/Hansel became interesting Samdi kills him! I really don’t like Samdi/Fascilier. He’s ruining everything.
Are we really only getting Kelly’s fiancé for one episode?
Barely and Regina in this episode and no Tilly (although, at least she was mentioned).
Maybe I disliked this episode more than I thought.
[adrotate group="5"]StahlopParticipantSo same actress playing the witch that owned the bakery. Trying to understand how unless this version of Hansel and Gretel didn’t kill her.
StahlopParticipantBut it can’t be the same blind Witch from the Gingerbread Shop. Didn’t Gretel kill her so she and Hansel could escape? There’s no way she could be the witch that held them captive.
StahlopParticipantI have no idea why he’s going after her, but I was not at all surprised when she received the candy heart box.
StahlopParticipant–I really don’t understand why characters like Cinderella and Rapunzel are wholly different from their counterparts in the EF 1.0 but characters like Smee and Blackbeard are played by the same actors and even act the same (apart from availability)
Smee and Blackbeard are from the Wish Realm. Cinderella and Rapunzel are from The Enchanted Forest 2.0.
Smee was with Nook when Wish Regina’s powers were taken away. Nook gave him the Jolly Roger when he left to take care of Alice. I’m assuming Blackbeard was the one from the Wish Realm because his make up made him look older and his wig was very messed up and no longer curled and pristine like it used to be.
StahlopParticipantAnother okay episode.
Liked:
Tilly and Margot. So cute. I’m liking the actress who plays Margot much better as Margot than as Robin. Maybe it’s because she doesn’t have that mean girl quality in her as Margot.
Kelly and Lucy. I love that Lucy just tells it like it is.
Ella was not that annoying in this episode and I actually liked Henry’s proposal. It was simple and sweet.
Weaver and Henry working together! We’ve rarely seen Grandfather and grandson together this season.
Hansel/Nick. Much better as a dark character.
Mixed:
I get that Nook wants Henry to like him, but having him be a false hero? That was just weird. Although, it was interesting to finally see Hook and Blackbeard get along. Definitely Wish Blackbeard, he had aged and his wig was a mess.
I think they’re trying to show some kind of connection between Rogers and Sabine. The way they were talking ‘favorite detective’ and all that. I remember thinking they had a connection back in EF 2.0 as well. Back then I wouldn’t have liked it, but now I’m kind of digging it.
Disliked:
Why the hell would Henry talk to Nick about an active police case? Did he really not realize that all of that would be confidential? Henry may be a lot of things but I really didn’t think stupid was one of them.
Did I miss where they found the written in copy of “Once Upon a Time”? How convenient that Nick just happened to drop that during his fight with Ivy.
No Regina this episode? What’s up with that?
StahlopParticipantBlackbeard is back! Now will this be regular Blackbeard or a Wish Blackbeard, because he’s played by the same actor.
StahlopParticipantI like your thoughts on Facilier being the Guardian. But there going to have to do quite a bit to explain away his shadiness in the past and present, to where he’s a “good guy” worthy of Regina. I could see something having happened between the evens of 7×12 and now that redeemed him, but then why he is still using Naveen and Regina is still wary of him? I really want Henry to be the guardian, because it fits with prophecy and would tie up “the boy will be your undoing” from Season 2 – it’s always bothered me they never came back to that.
But he was undone by Henry, just not in the way he thought. Henry lead him to Pan and the only way to get rid of Pan was to kill both himself and Pan together with the dagger.
StahlopParticipantIm hoping that we’ll get how Henry and Jack met. Henry said Jack was one of the first people he met and we heard the line that he doesn’t want to just be a player in someone else’s story, which was part of his whole reasoning for leaving Storybrooke.
StahlopParticipantAnother decent episode, but too many unanswered questions and weird character motivations happening.
Liked:
I did like that Roni had cocoa for Lucy, but how was it magically already made? I get that she knew they were coming in to pick up food, but she had a fancy hot cocoa already made.
I’m sad that Ivy is gone because they really could’ve made her go the Regina route with redemption. But now we won’t see it. Why are they getting rid of one of the best new characters?
Mixed:
I’m liking how Rumple has changed so he can be with Belle someday, but I find it hard to believe he would just let Anastasia leave when she’s supposed to be the Guardian he’s been after for so long. What does being the Guardian entail? Can he just give her the dagger and he’s free? Is there a ritual? What’s the process here. And now there’s the possibility that there’s more than one Guardian? Make up your mind show.
How does Rogers fake hand work? Because it always seems to be holding things.
I’m liking that Fascilier seems to be on the good side because of Regina, but what’s his end game with the dagger? Did he basically just facilitate Anastasia and Ivy’s exit to make it easier for him to get the dagger?
The name of the arcade was Flynn’s, so good Tangled shout out, but it would’ve been funnier if it was Litwak’s like in Wreck-It Ralph
Disliked:
Lucy trying to force a relationship with Henry, Rogers and Nick.
How did Gretel get magic and why was it candy magic? And does this mean that the Blind Witch in HH was not Hansel and Gretel’s witch? Because she should be dead then, according to Gretel.
Nick is the killer. I know many of us had made the connection that he might be Hansel, so the killing of witches makes sense, but how does it fit Nick’s character? Is he awake? Was his cursed self given this compulsion or is it breaking through and Nick doesn’t even know why he’s doing it? How does he know who the witches are in this world or does he have other reasons for killing them?
No Tilly or Margo.
