Participantwhich Belle are we supposed to analyze? season 1&2 Belle, or season 3 Belle?
Belle is not Belle anymore. Do you remember that Belle who discovered the buried gold inside her âbeastlyâ employerâs heart? Remember that Belle who was so sad that Rumple lost his son, she cried for him, the Belle that loved Rumple so much that his feelings mattered most to her? Remember that Belle, the one who said that she will never stop fighting for him? Belle, who understood why she had to stay in SB while her beloved man goes out to the land without magic to look for his only son? Belle, who understood and accepted that she had to stay in SB while her beloved man goes to save his grandson at the risk of his own life, but who had complete faith that she will see him again? Who is she now?
Now she is an immature baby.
Letâs analyze her one subject at a time:
1) Belle, who was mature enough to understand and accept that she had to stay in SB:
she is now complaining about âhe didnât need meâ thatâs why she didnât go with them on the ship, because she wasnât important enough. Belle became a little girl who needs to feel important! Who cares that her boyfriend was going to his death, SHE doesnât feel important!2) Belle had complete faith that she will see him again
did she really believe that she will see him again as shown in season 2? No. season 3 Belle was sure he was already dead. Did you see her reaction when Ariel said she had a message from him? âheâs alive?â she asked, astonished. (yay! He needs her help! Now she has something to do! Now she can feel important!)3) Belle used to care about Rumpleâs feelingsâŚ
now all she cares about is herself. When she enters his shop for the first time since he was resurrected she is all happy that her sparkly boo is back. Never mind HOW he got back. HIS feelings donât matter. His only son died because of him, but SHE got him back. Yay!4) Belle said sheâll never stop fighting for him
It took them 8 months to decide to break into the castle. Not to free poor Rumple, but to get information from him so they can save Snowingâs new baby. She knew Robin-Hood, she knew he can break into the castle. Did she have to wait so long to break in and try to free him? Steal the dagger? Something? Where is all that fiery âI will never give up on himâ? Isnât part of never giving up on someone, trying to free him from a cold hard cage? Even when they did finally break in, freeing him was only the secondary goal, a side effect if Zelena is defeated.Marty McFly
ParticipantBut I doubt he is suicidal or trying to bring Neal back. First, Neal died a hero, and I donât think Rumple wants to take that away from him.
He. Did. Not. Die. A. Hero.
It pisses me off when people say that. What makes ANYBODY think that he died a hero? A&E said it in an INTERVEIW?? Ok fine, whatever. âHe died a hero.â Iâll file that along with âitâs all about hopeâ and âwatching his father sacrifice his life had a profound effect on Nealâ under âthings we are told about OUAT but are never shownâ
If you want information supported by the story you are shown, ANYONE can see that Neal died a desperate pathetic man. Relying on his dark father to save him again after Emma separates him. He and Emma both looked to their powerful dark one for hope that he can find yet another loophole. He probably could have absorbed him again if he wasnât controlled.
There was nothing heroic about his death. He saved no one. No one needed him to die. Emma and Henry were perfectly safe. They were perfectly happy. Henry was not alone and thinking he was abandoned the way Rumple knew Bae was. There was no reason at all to go find Henry. There was no reason to bring back the dead, using dark magic, (KNOWING his heroic father will be reduced to being a slave to darkness), and certainly not in such haste. And itâs not as if they donât know how to write a true hero.
It did nothing to move the story forward either.Marty McFly
ParticipantI need support with abandoning the show. I am still in detox stage. I try not to think at all about ouat, but I canât help remembering quotes like âthereâs no greater pain than regret, try abandonmentâ, âwere safer without you. goodbye papaâ âyouâre not the same, you came back for me, papaâ âIâve spent a lifetime looking for you. For a chance to say I love you. And Iâm sorry.â âAnd yet, you’re still here. For Henry, not you. As far as I’m concerned, you can stay the hell away from both of us.â And I get shocked all over again at how all of this⌠this story this most interesting story full of potential, full of possibilities.. all of this story was deleted from the show. And this⌠this âendingâ? itâs all we get.

ParticipantMe too.
cause you guys don’t agree that Rumbelle was built on Neal’s blood? if you think otherwise, tell me what you guys think
Marty McFly
Participant@Marty, If RumBelle is built on Neal, then by that logic, SwanFire is built on Rumple. Since Emma only met Neal again because RUMPLE made her go to Manhattan with him. Heck, SwanFireâs initial meeting was built on Rumple, Blue Fairy, Wendy and Peter Pan if you go by your logic.
Rumbelle is built on Neal’s blood. it’s because he brought Rumple back and DIED for it that they are even able to marry at all.
unless Rumple became really stupid and doesn’t see it OR unless Rumple suddenly became really heartless and doesn’t care, there is no way he would be happily married.
Marty McFly
ParticipantIf Rumple was truly suicidal, I would think instead of proposing to Belle, the first thing he would have done after being free is use the knife to kill himself. He did NO such thing.
Rumple uses the dagger on himself, he dies and the DO power goes away.
but why? what would be the point of doing that?
I think Rumple believes a life needs to be exchanged.
I think Rumple believes that his life is not his own. He believes that he is living a borrowed life, borrowed from his son, and he means to give it back.
when they were getting “married” (sounded more like a funeral with that music) Belle believed that this marriage will last, but Gold knew better.
it will just be an illusion of happiness for him. and temporary. he knows what he is about to do (free his son from the past and erase himself from existence in the process) but he canât tell Belle that.
he learned a short time ago that he has two choices as to how to live out the rest of this time: in screaming agony, or in a much more pleasant way. he opts for the more pleasant way even though it means lying to his beloved

ParticipantHow is being together and feelings not the exact same thing?? They are together because they are in love. Love = feelings.
because of HOW they came to be together. NEAL DIED. that’s how.
they wouldn’t have been together had he not resurrected Rumple. Belle would be alone.
geddit?
and this is a very big deal.
we are totes misunderstanding each other and it’s hilarious đ
so Rumbelle IS built on Neal. If Neal was still alive, Rumblle would still be separated.
so Gold wanting to be dead equals Gold wanting his son to be alive.
does he want Neal to have stayed alive? yes. this means that he wants to have STAYED DEAD
does that make him suicidal? maybe. and I am still not removing the possibility that he might be working on getting himself killed again so that Bae would come back.
he didn’t go after Tamara. he bumped into her while doing something a lot more important. saving his son’s son. revenge was never his M.O. or Hook would have been long dead.
