noticed how Regina did not really answer RH’s question?
he asked her “why do you care what the imp thinks?”
and she said something about winning the fight between herself and Zelena, but this doesn’t explain WHY she cares about what her mentor thinks…
it doesn’t explain why she read that letter hundreds of times. every time she needed a boost, every time she felt lost…
it’s so funny because this is exactly the relationship Gold and Regina have. every time she felt unhappy, cranky, lost, she would run to the dark castle or to Gold’s shop to rant. (kind of like me: every time I feel unhappy and lot I run to this thread to rant *hugs thread*)
maybe this is why no one mentions Rumple after he dies. he wasn’t finished sacrificing yet. just one more sacrifice, giving up the dagger, and then he could be dead again, so that Neal will live.
now everyone can talk about him. now that Regina KNOWS that he’s saved her from her sister once (“rumplestiltskin can’t save you THIS time”) and we know about the letter that gave Regina hope. NOW they can tell RobinHood how Rumple died when RH will say “why does anyone care that the imp is dead?”
the strongest proof that I DO believe: I AM WATCHING THE FRIGGIN’ SHOW!!! EPISODE BY EPISODE! (I’m at 317 now)

This episode also features the Great Neal Lie… firefighter and pumpkin pie. At the end, Henry asks, “Do you have anything of his? Something you can remember him by.
Something I could see.” Emma declines, but throughout this whole scene, we can very clearly see the pendant, on a chain, around her neck. (Just like the compass… on a chain, around Ava’s neck.)

I watched 317, and I see what you were saying, how everyone seems ooc. BUT I liked the episode because I feel that the writers wanted to give the audience a break from the terrible pain that was 315 and 316. it was lighter and (dare I say) fun in some ways. (if you forget for a moment the big elephant in the room (Neal is DEAD) if you don’t think about it you could enjoy that episode.
Now, Emma is obviously in denial in this episode. it’s part of grieving. she wants to “not stop living” so she makes the crib with her father even though they are afraid of the witch. she calls her parents boring, and lets a pirate babysit, OK I see why it made everyone so mad, BUT to me, none of it looked like she cared for Captain Hook. in fact, Regina said it best: she doesn’t but HE does. and notice how fast Regina believed Emma that she has no feelings for hook. THERE IS A SPECIAL CONNECTION BETWEEN EMMA AND REGINA they can’t lie to each other. I love it bytheway. (don’t mind me I’ve always LOVED Emma/Regina interactions)
some things that jumped at me: the writers had Zelena!Ariel call Hook a “coward and a monster” these are the things that Rumple keeps calling himself. what are the writers trying to imply here?
and right after that we see proof that Hook is a coward because he can’t bring himself to tell Emma the truth about who Ariel was and what he did in the past year etc. and here we also see the difference between RumBelle and CS, where when Gold couldn’t bring himself to tell Belle the circumstances of Milah’s death, Belle found it out within an hour, while Emma was illusioned into believing that Hook was telling the whole truth.and another thing that jumped at me: Hook was practically trying to turn Henry into Pan. the ONLY other cheater we met in ouat was Malcolm/Pan.
so between Pan and Hook in neverland, no one should be surprised that Baelfire became a theif
I wrote this before together with the Hook post but my post disappeared so I have to write it all over again. The thing that convinced me the most that this is NOT what the writers will stay with and that Bae cannot be dead and still have a happy show is the funeral scene.
First of all, the tune they used was the Papa/Bae tune as the casket was lowered. The writers made a point of it that Rumple was NOT there, and not just that, but every shovel-full of dirt that was thrown on the casket sounded like a thunderous assault that knocked Rumple to the ground crying in pain. I don’t know what the writers were implying that Zelena was doing to him while they were burying his son, but with the tune usually reserved for the Rumple/Bae moments and the beating he was getting alone in his cage while Zelena was laughing at him and asking if Bae was worth all that trouble, the writers confirmed what I was saying all along: that this character was inconsolable, and it cannot be possible for him to ever be happy without his child.
This is why it cannot be real. It is an AU that must be fixed if any of the characters will get any kind of happiness.
n, the fact that they focused on Hook at the funeral is because they want the audience to wonder about him. remember, he knew about Neal wanting to get his father back before Belle found it in the book he hugged Neal. he seemed to know a whole lot so they focused on his face at the funeral to emphasize his guilt ridden face. they could have easily swept any past relationship under the rug, but they didn’t. the most interesting thing about it was how when he told Henry about Neal, he said that he was a boy and that he had also lost his father to something dark and evil. as if Hook, the Hook that took Milah changed a lot in the fact that he owned that he tooki Bae’s mother, he singlehandedly ruined Bae’s life from the beginning.
had Milah not escaped, had Hook given up is ship to live in the village with Milah next door to Rumple and Bae so they could help Rumple parent Bae… maybe he wouldn’t become the DO, but Morriane’s parents couldn’t save her and they were two. so maybe he still WOULD become the DO, but at least Milah and Hook would be there to support Bae in is darkest hour, when his father became a monster… maybe Bae would never have ended up in neverland.
