That could also be the reason he decided to use Regina instead. Maybe he thought Zelena was getting to creepy and clingy that as someone that would need to take the heart of the thing they love most this was a problem. He cut her off and went to the next suitable candidate her kindhearted little sister who had just lost her one true love.
I totally agree! she was maybe the one prophesized to cast the curse as Cora’s first born, but she would have been too evil and unredeemable if she gained this much power. so he decided to used Regina who he saw was also on the way to becoming evil because her crazy mother killed her true love. buut he also knew that he price of banning her mother was that Regina will become evil so he decided that since she IS redeemable, he will have HER cast this delicate curse
[adrotate group="5"]It’s no wonder he’s gone crazy, if she really is NOT Regina’s sister, if she really is Milah’s sister and is lying because she is jealous that Rumpel fell in love with Milah and not with her, and then she got jealous that he fell in love with Cora and then she was jealous that he was Regina’s bff…. OK I think I am going crazy now lol
but seriously, if she is being wicked to him I don’t blame him for going crazy
it was half enjoyable and half destroyed for me…
I LOVED the Regina and Emma scenes! oh the feels!!! I am becoming more and more into Swan/Queen!!!but the more they ignore the elephant in the room, the more I’m hating these episodes so far!
the elephant in the room is, of course, the fact that Rumpelstiltskin is NOT THERE. but so far only Charming mentions it *in passing* as if it doesn’t matter, and Regina mentions it in passing to Zelena – and she seems more sorry that her MOTHER is dead – the woman who singlehandedly destroyed her life and over whom we had an entire scene of her crying over her casket (two scenes, actually) but her teacher? the person who taught her EVERYTHING (magic and important life lessons) the man she always ran to when she was feeling sad or angry, her best frenemy in the whole world? no emotion at all!
in fact the only person who shows ANY interest in talking about the most powerful dark one the world has ever seen is Zelena, and she is horrible to him.
I HATED seeing him act insane again. I don’t care if it was real or pretend, it was horrible. and just as I suspected, he is completely “undone” his golden heart is gone, and all that’s left is the crazy dark one. I hate it.
and meanwhile everyone in the enchanted forest and storybrooke is ignoring the fact the he’s gone. no one feels the emptiness without him. I know that Blue made the memory potion, but Regina tried to make copies of it and while she was frustrated, it would have been very appropriate for her to say “damit, I wish Gold were here, he’d have made that potion easily” or something
or she could have told Robin hood that Rumpelstiltskin taught her how to make her own sleeping potion, or charming could have said, you know, he saved me from dreamshade or I don’t know…
and the worst part? Belle and Bae just follow everyone around in the EF. WHY? why aren’t they leaving the group and going to the dark castle to look for a way to get Rumpel back? didn’t Belle say that she thinks they could get him back?
as much as I love the swan/queen moment, the lack of feeling the great big void of no Gold to run to with everyone’s problems is killing the story for me.
no one is annoyed that he is gone, that he can’t help them with all this new craziness.
and the worst part, NO ONE THINKS of going to Gold’s shop to look for any kind of magical item to help them with whatever.OK I think I know what is going on…
Rumpelstiltskin taught Zelena, but saw that she was wicked and wanted power just like her mother so he thought she might be too dangerous to teach magic lest she end up like Cora and never be redeemed. or maybe he saw that she is too evil to ever be redeemed…?
so he went to Regina, he chose her because he saw she was a kind hearted girl EVEN though her mother had no heart… so he decided to use HER to cast his curse instead of Zelena. so this way he thought he could change fate. change the fact that Zelena was fated to cast a curse and take that curse that was ANYWAY fated to happen and have someone kindhearted llike Regina cast it so that she would be able to break it. as someone who has USED the scroll already, she DOES have that power…
so he created a savior – Emma, and he created a curse breaker – Regina.
he later did everything in his power to bring Regina Back to the kindhearted woman she used to be. he gave her a child to adopt (and he knew better than anyone how much the love for a child brings out the best in a person who is really good inside) he gave her countless opportunities to save Emma, Snow, Henry all the residents of storybrooke etc. because he wanted to have her redeemed
tis is what I think…(btw, what did he mean you never should have brought me back? back from where?)
It’s exactly like Rumple and Regina.
Rumple trained Regina so she could later enact a curse which would help him find his son.
Amara trained Jafar so he could later cast the spell which would allow her to find her sons.exactly what I was thinking… Amara is just like Rumpelstiltskin. all she wants is to get her sons back. everyone is terrified of her, yet we have never seen her kill anyone. not even the man who insulted Jafar, she just poofed him.
she used Jafar’s thirst for revenge to advance her own purposes – getting her children back. she even fell in love with the she taught magic, just like Rumplestiltskin fell for Cora.
the only question is, how was Amara cursed? she isn’t a dark one or anything…. where did SHE get her magic from?can I be the keeper of the scroll in Rumpelstiltskin’s cell with Emma’s name written on it with squid ink again, and again, and again?
Hmm, I don’t see it that way……I just think it’s creepy, not to mention undignified. He deserves much better than to have his body used like that – and I don’t want him walking around because he was rescued by the WW for her own purposes.

What is dignified about a dark one being controlled? A Dark one who lost his dagger is not a powerful wizard. He is not even a man anymore. He is a powerful weapon to be wielded by any moron who holds the dagger. Stripped of his humanity, he is nothing more than a tool to be used and abused. this fate is worse than death. It is most undignified and humiliating.
and especially if he will be flaunted in front of all his loved ones and past acquaintances as this powerful weapon that the witch will use against them.
Having died and then later restored to life is less demeaning than being used, body and soul, so satiate some idiot’s desires for power.
so I don’t think that dead should be dead if the alternative is having lost all command of his self and be made a slave to the dark curse.
in fact, I think it would be less painful if she is only using his dead (animated) body to shoot the dark one’s magic rather than him being conscience of his helplessness at her disposal.
we all know it has nothing to do with what he deserves… no one deserves to have a father like Pan or to have his 14 year old son threatened to have no choice but to sell his soul to the devil in order to protect his son. or to be controlled by a wicked witch
no one deserves such a fate and certainly not someone so full of love as Gold, but his fate is cruel. so if it’s the witch who saves him, that’s not such a bad thing, as long as he IS saved
