…and here is another reason I think pp=rumple: he told his son in “the return” I think, that he needed power or magic to protect him. Bae said “I wouldn’t NEED protection if you weren’t the dark one” or something like that. maybe Rumpel meant protection from neverland? maybe the HIM in neverland threatened to take rumpel’s children if he ever dares to grow up?
but that’s finding parallels from the movie “Hook” again…
[adrotate group="5"]Another issue I have with PP = Young Rumpel is I don’t think Rumpel had ever met Hook before that day at the bar then the boat. So then you have a situation where young-Rumpel-PP was in Nl, Hook was but not together until old-no-longer-known-as-PP is there. I guess it sort of works as PP is supposed to be Hook’s main rival so making Rumpel into PP somehow could make some sense.
I was actually thinking that the story of pp as we know it doesn’t happen until the present and the backstory is only of pp being IN neverland living among the Indians, the mermaids, and the fairies, but without hook at all or with a different pirate (hook’s father possibly) going in and out of neverland
I tend to go with PP being Rumple’s brother. I mean who better to play the main villain than the Dark One’s sibling.
but he was a good man before being the dark one. a very good man. which is way I get very surprised that people consider Henry the son of both dark and light magic. Baelfire was the son of a really good man. it was only later – much later (fourteen years later) that he became a dark one.
unless rumple doesn’t remember what he looked like as a lad and there are no pictures in ftl. Henry could be a genetic copy of his grandpa.
Hey, maybe the drawing we saw at the end of henry is not actually a picture of henry himself but a picture of young rumpel/pp brother. Pp might be looking for his brother refusing to believe that this brother grew up
So if they won’t touch ‘hook’ rumpel can’t be pp. but I still think pp is the victim here. There is no way ‘the dark one’ would consider a kid anyone they all should fear.
Maybe he is the brother then…Big hole in the PP is Rumple is that Peter Pan has been cast and is on set.
The one cast could be young rumpel
Which is why it took them so long to get the movie rights for pp. for all other fairy tales they didn’t need to clear leagal issues
Besides, if rumpel is the adult pp, there has to be a back story with the little pp, no?I think that Rumpelstiltskin is Peter Pan all grown up. and the HE is some horrible being that rrrriiippps shadows and makes them his workers who don’t allow boys off the island. I think Peter Pan was also his victim but he somehow got away and grew up but the HE wanted revenge so he went after his kids.
Thete are BIG parallels between Hook the movie and OUAT.
1) Peter pan (the adult) was a lawyer
2)Peter pan the adult) was afraid to fly on the airplane
3)Peter Pan (the adult) wanted to be a father more than anything – it was his only happy thought
4)hook (or the shadow) took PP’s kids so that PP come to neverland
4)the key to hook’s revenge was to make PP’s son hate him and love Hook (THIS is a phenomena: why did Neal spend his life running from his father? this is a BIG change from the Baelfire who loved his father and looked for a way to bring him back UNLESS hook brainwashed him against his father saying that only his mother was great and his father was horrible
hook was depressed that his worthy foe PP was not what he used to be and wanted to kill himself — OUAT hook seemed to have a death wish too – while with Cora and goading Rumpel while Rumpel beat him up and he didn’t even fight back. if not for Belle, he’d have killed Hook
when Rumpel was a coward and refused to fight Hook (we know it was because he didn’t want to die and leave his son parentless but still… if he would have remembered that he was PP he’d fight)
