LOL omg this. Elsa was the exception but every single season BIG MOMENT was spoiled.
To be fair, they did leave us pretty confused when they were filming 3A’s finale and 3B’s premiere. We did know about Grumpy shouting “the Curse is here!”, but we struggled trying to put all the pieces together until the episode actually aired. I don’t recall any of us predicting the show to skip a year in the timeline, hence why we were so puzzled by seeing photos of Emma, Henry and Hook in NYC. Because NYC was known as only Neal’s home at the time, our first assumption was their storyline in NYC involved him. One example of a theory was that Neal got arrested for Tamara’s disappearance. However, things got even weirder with the addition of Walsh, which led to some theories such as him being Future Henry or Emma’s foster brother. It got even more confusing when we saw that everybody else had been sent to the Enchanted Forest, including Hook. I should point out that 3A’s cliffhanger scene of Hook arriving at Emma’s NYC apartment was unspoiled, as that was done in studio.
[adrotate group="5"]I should also point out that even though Neal died, MRJ still returned as Neal for both “A Curious Thing” and “There’s No Place Like Home” that same Season. “A Curious Thing” was the episode being filmed at the time of the infamous door photo, so that was likely why MRJ was there. After all, flashbacks are still a thing on this show, which always opens up the possibility of a dead character returning. It made sense for MRJ at the time, because he was still a contracted regular for the remainder of Season 3. So with that in mind, even if they already filmed a death scene for Robin, who’s to say that Sean still doesn’t have scenes left to film? This could be several possibilities:
1) Re-shoots, like RG mentioned.
2) Robin’s death is undone by the end of the Season finale.
3) Even if Robin’s death is permanent, he could still show up in a flashback or some sort of vision sequence.
4) There’s also been rumors that they’ve been filming scenes from 521-523 simultaneously in order to accommodate Ginnifer Goodwin’s press tour for Zootopia.Not OUAT related, but figured I might as well bring it up. ABC has cancelled Of Kings and Prophets after only two episodes. The quickest cancellation from ABC this Season:

If they don’t kill him, it leaves the possibility open that he’ll return. If the writers don’t want RH on the show anymore for whatever reason, I can see how they see killing him as the most reasonable option to keep having to avoid saying “he’s not coming back” over and over again. Not that that worked with Neal. But eh.
Personally, I see killing off Robin in a permanent capacity even crueler for three main reasons:
1) Outlaw Queen has had so much build up and development for 3 Seasons. We also had a huge amount of drama with the couple in Season 4 in particular. So Regina has to suffer losing her true love yet again, despite how far she’s come? We as viewers would have gone through all of Outlaw Queen’s emotional rollercoaster for nothing?
2) Robin Hood has two little kids, with one of them being an infant. You kill off Robin, and Roland is completely an orphan with none of his birth parents around anymore. As for Baby Pistachio, her remaining birth parent would be Zelena…
3) All of 5B is about bringing Hook back from the dead, so they’re going to tell us that Robin’s death has to stick in the same arc? The more the show finds loopholes around “dead is dead”, the harder it is to convince the viewers when they really want us to believe it for certain characters. That’s why there are some Neal fans out there who continue to not entirely rule out the possibility, even when the show continues to remind us “he’s not coming back” at least once per Season. In Season 3 it was Emma saying “you can’t prevent his death from happening in the past, because he died a hero saving all of us. You can’t take that away from him.” In Season 4 it was the Apprentice saying “he died in the real world, and that can never be undone.” In Season 5, it’s Neal himself telling us “I’m not in the Underworld. I’m in a better place, and I’m happy there.”

Why is Roland so happy? Both of his parents were brutally killed. He should have despair in his eyes for living in this cruel world alone.
First of all, it’s not 100% confirmed that Robin is dead (though it’s looking very very likely). Second of all, a lot of these photos were taken in-between takes. Anyway-
