I really wish they had gone the Kilgrave route for him. For those who don’t know, Kilgrave is the villain of Netflix’s “Jessica Jones.” In the comics, he is the Purple Man who is, quite literally, purple. However, instead of making the character look ridiculous in purple CGI, they went the grounded route and paid homage to the comics by having him wear a purple suit (along with some added visual effects to his powers). That’s something I wish Once had incorporated with Hades. Heck, even a single blue streak in his hair could’ve worked! This just looks childish, stupid, and way too expensive.
I was thinking maybe Hades could have simply worn a blue top hat, as an homage to the blue hair.

When I first saw this, I thought it was a photo a fan made up, but then I realized that a fan would have done a better job. I actually thought he looked better without the blue hair, when we got photos of him on set. Maybe it’ll look better in motion, or they’ll at least improve upon the effect after seeing the fan reaction? Perhaps he won’t even have the blue hair all the time, because it would save the cost of adding the CGI hair for all of his screentime?
I reckon those casting calls could be fake.
a) Casting calls aren’t normally that detailed.
b) they misspelled queen as “Quen”
c) They misspelled the as “teh” twice
d) Why does child Regina have a hole in her heart? The hole in her heart didn’t happen until she cast the dark curse.
e) The whole “puts it all on “teh” line for a chance at family”. As far as Regina was concerned for her entire young life, her family consisted of Cora and Henry sr and probably what’s his face (Henry Sr’s dad). Why is she aiming at “for a chance at family” when she’s got one.
f) The grammatical errors of the Zelena casting call are awful and it reads like a summary of a fanfiction. Seriously, “And then, one day, she discovers (etc)” You wouldn’t put “And then” after a full stop to then use a comma, you would start a sentence with “one day”. “Giving her a chance” should come in the middle of a sentence after a comma, not in the beginning.
I honestly think these casting calls are fake because they are riddled with errors.

Ooof. That would be a bad storyline, especially #2 which is just full of the cliche
#3 would be full of cliche too, given how many times this show has used amnesia.

Part of me feels like being cautious, because this could just turn out to be an “official” scoop on the Young Regina and Young Zelena casting, and not something truly new. We shall see, though.
There are three different ways I could see this flashback playing out:
1) Young Regina and Young Zelena don’t meet, but their flashbacks parallel one another. Would be the most logical route to go, but this is OUAT, so that means maybe not.
2) Young Regina and Young Zelena meet, but without realizing that they’re sisters.
3) Young Regina and Young Zelena meet, find out that they’re sisters, and then Cora erases their memories of this encounter.Sadly, I could very much see them going with 2 or 3. The writers can’t help but create contrived flashbacks that just don’t mesh well with the pre-existing canon these days. They like to make their jobs more difficult than they need to be, in favor of “you assumed that events played out so and so, BUT what you don’t know is that this random event also happened!”
I’d like to see Maya Henssens as Young Zelena. She was perfectly cast as a Young Charlotte in LOST. She’d be around the right age for this now as well.
That was back in 2009, so she might be too old now.
I wonder if that means Barbara is coming back for 519
Even if Rose comes back to play the Young Cora for this flashback, Barbara could very well still return for the present day scenes. Maybe Zelena will finally get to meet her mother?
The special things they make for comic con are not promos and they are different because there is no footage at that point. They are more like teasers then anything. Also Cruella is not new to the show, so it seems unlikely that they would do anything special for her, she doesn’t need to be introduced. They usually use footage from the show for the commercials and everything from now on is a commercial. Also, this is mid season, so for mid season they have had footage since before the end of 5A. All those teasers you put up have nothing to do with the commercials.
And the ones not made at SDCC WERE aired on TV. The Season 2 Fall 2012 lineup promo, Wicked is Coming promo, Elsa promo, and Dark side promo all aired on TV. The Dark side promo even aired during the Oscars last Season. The fact is, yes they have filmed special footage specifically for promos, and yes those very examples have aired.
