    About my thoughts on the poster, yeah I agree with everyone here that its beyond lazy. I’m sick of them using the same “Face and Apple” template since they started using it in Season 3, and its worse here because they’re doing it twice in the same Season. You would have thought they’d use a shot of the Underworld with its messed up clock tower for the poster, or something similar instead.

    Raise your hand if you think this will be the back half of the S5 DVD cover somehow.

    Nah. My guess is that it will be a lenticular cover where you see the Dark Swan 5A poster when you view it normally, but it’ll transition to the Hook 5B poster (along with other main cast members on the bottom of the apple) when you move the case around.

    Looks like Zelena is back in Storybrooke in 516. My guess is that her time back in Oz with Dorothy’s return will take the place of that episode’s flashback.

    “Love and Death” and “Do the D’Dew” Air Sunday, January 24

    “Love and Death” – Richard, Roberta and Sid rush the fatally wounded Galavant to a healer named Neo of Sporin, who has a magic potion that could save Galavant’s life. While waiting for Galavant to recover, Roberta admits she likes Richard and they almost share a tender moment. Later, Neo produces an army for Galavant… but the soldiers turn out to be zombies. Meanwhile, Madalena finally shares her true feelings with Gareth, who is shocked. As they march on Hortensia, the unlikely duo make a decision about their relationship, on “Galavant,” airing SUNDAY, JANUARY 24 (8:00–8:30 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network.

    “Do the D’Dew” – As the battle between Hortensia and Valencia begins, Isabella and the Jester are ready to surrender; but when Isabella hears Madalena’s demands, she can’t accept them. She returns to the Hortensia camp and rallies the troops to fight with whatever they can find. Against Gareth’s wishes, a frightened Madalena turns to Wormwood who teaches her the evil magic of the “Dark Dark Evil Way” or D’DEW. Meanwhile, Richard and Roberta finally take their relationship to the next level, but as they’re about to leave for battle, Roberta makes an important decision. Galavant finally figures out how to motivate his Zombie army while Sid runs away, on “Galavant,” airing SUNDAY, JANUARY 24 (8:30–9:00 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network.

    “Galavant” stars Joshua Sasse as Galavant, Timothy Omundson as King Richard, Vinnie Jones as Gareth, Mallory Jansen as Madalena, Karen David as Isabella and Luke Youngblood as Sid. The ten-episode series will run each Sunday night for five-consecutive weeks.

    “Love and Death” was written by Robin Shorr and directed by Paul Murphy.     Definitely a very strong Season opener! So many great jokes, character moments, and of course the songs! My favorite song is probably a tie between “A New Season” and “Off with His Shirt.” I did enjoy “The World’s Best Kiss” and “Let’s Agree to Disagree” a lot, too. The best character moments were definitely the stuff with Gal and Richard. Those two have amazing chemistry, and I could watch them all day. That’s not to say Isabella, Chef, Sid, Gareth, and Madalena weren’t a ton of fun, cause they sure were!

    Of course as a OUAT viewer, certain things were particularly amusing. The Enchanted Forest gay bar run by the Evil Queen, Chef pointing out the plot inconsistencies when Isabella talks about her amulet, and Richard pulling out a sword in the same fashion as Excalibur. I couldn’t help but imagine Chef representing how we feel whenever we notice plot holes on OUAT. This show is very self aware, which is great!

    And I’ll be you anything that A and E would think it super clever to have Dorothy, the girl who wears the Ruby slippers in one of the most famous movies of all time, fall in love with a girl named Ruby.

    For it to not be Mulan now would feel out of left field. They had her play the pronoun game in Bear King so that the unsuspecting audience (who has amnesia obviously) will be Super! Shocked! when Mulan reveals that she likes girls out loud for the first time. The question, I think, is who her partner is. Ruby or Dorothy or someone else?

    I’m curious just how they’re going to reveal it, because Adam and Eddy have been clear about not wanting the media to over hype it as “a very special episode of Once Upon a Time.” They apparently feel that this is a story that should be treated as if its normal, to reflect on the way the world is now.

    hmmm….has it ever been explicitly stated the LGBT plotline would be Mulan and someone else?

    Nope, she’s just the most obvious subject, because they heavily hinted at Mulan having feelings for Aurora back in Season 3, and she happens to return during the same episode that was said to plant the seeds for the LGBT relationship. Folks put two and two together.
