ModeratorGuess this confirms that returning dead characters won’t just be in 512.

It was leaked from the ABC Studios Advisory Panel site:

ModeratorLooks like Victoria is back. I had to link the Tumblr post, because of language in the tags:

ModeratorTo be honest, I no longer understand the purpose of “tethering” now that we know that the Season 4 explanation — tethering the Darkness to a person in order to contain it, then forging/creating the dagger to control that person — is no longer valid. Here’s a theory, in light of recent spoilers. We know that Hook’s name is on the sword. If the sword now works much like the dagger, then the obvious explanation is if Hook killed Merlin. The current portrayal of Hook in Camelot is of someone progressively spinning out of control (another Desperate Soul?), and he’s already lashing out at Merlin anyway. Now that Merlin’s under Arthur’s thumb, it seems like neutralizing him would be a good idea. Many here have speculated that Merlin’s dead by the time they get to SB. So perhaps Hook decides to kill Merlin on his own initiative, or Merlin essentially requests Hook to kill him (to prevent the damage that Arthur might do with Merlin at his beck and call), as the most likely candidate to take one for the team, since Merlin’s and Hook’s predicaments are similar. The only problem with this is that it’s maybe a little too obvious …
The other problem with your theory is that Excalibur is totally blank in present day Storybrooke. In 506, we got clear shots of both sides of the sword. No name is currently attached. Had Hook killed Merlin, his name would already be on the sword.

ModeratorFinal ratings update for “Nimue.” For the first time this Season, we actually increased our demo for the final same day ratings adjustments. “Nimue” is now at a 1.6 demo and 4.88 total viewers:

ModeratorNow, I know that the first thought is that the episode has to do with Zelena and her unborn baby. However, I think it actually has to do with Hercules. We know that they recently sent out a casting call for both Hercules and Megara. Not only that, but Hercules is known for his 12 labors, which could be what the title is referring to. “Labor of love” by definition means work done for the interest in the work itself, rather than for payment. Sounds like what it means to be a true hero, to me!

ModeratorHere’s a thought. The Grail was setting very nicely on a stone. What if it is the stone, and not the actual cup, that decides if a person is worthy to drink and receive the gifts? The grail could sit there, undisturbed for all eternity* until someone worthy came along, because no one who is not worthy can touch it to lift it away!
Has Excalibur, which is the Grail, been put back into the same stone for safekeeping?
Consider this: when the sword is in the stone, only the worthy can pull it out, with the same consequences to an unworthy attempt as Merlin’s friend encountered. But once the sword is removed, anyone can touch it without dying!
For that matter, Merlin’s friend was turned to dust just for touching the grail (albeit with the intention of drinking). But after Merlin removed it from its stone pedestal, it seemed like anyone could touch it.
So I think the stone was the guard/test. Once Merlin came along, he was trusted with all the power, including the grail itself, to protect and guard as he saw fit.
SFG
( *Or until there is a storm.
)That makes a lot of sense. Nicely said!
