Moderator• TIMELINE 1966 (but wait, when did Walt Disney die? I thought that was 68?)
Nope, he died December 15th, 1966. The exact date on the Star Publishing letter to Isaac.

ModeratorA recent theory of mine was that Merlin was the Sorcerer, and that the Apprentice was actually Yen Sid. The Apprentice being Yen Sid would make sense, because of how the records said the land lord of his house was “Yen Sid.”

ModeratorGuys, the date on the letter addressed to Isaac is December 15th, 1966. That is Walt Disney’s EXACT death date.

ModeratorThe Ending…I guess because it was spoiled, I just don’t really feel too much for it.
Same. I kept going, “okay, stop the black tornado now and end it. We know what’s happening. Stop beating the scene to death.” But again, we were all so spoiled.
So much for a super top secret ending when it was filmed right out in the open in Steveston, with fans all there to view. At least with last year’s finale scene, they didn’t film it in public, and they kept it a surprise from even the main cast.

ModeratorI wonder how long they’ll keep him in what is essentially a coma. Will he be absent for most of the season off sleeping or will they reanimate him soon into the new season?
This reminds me of what happened to a character on Agents of SHIELD during the Season 1 finale.
One of the characters, Fitz, almost dies from lack of oxygen. We don’t see Fitz for the rest of the finale, and are only told that “he may not be the same again.” Season 2 revealed that the lack of oxygen damaged his brain pretty badly, and we see his recovery for a large chunk of the Season.
Now Jo, it looks like you might have gotten your wish of seeing Rumple being stripped off the Dark One curse, and will have to struggle being a mortal man yet again.

ModeratorFinal poll results:
Yes, he will die and stay dead. 34.57% (28 votes)
Yes, he will die, but be revived yet again. 22.22% (18 votes)
No, he will not die at all. 43.21% (35 votes)
Total Votes: 81
And looks like those who predicted he wouldn’t die won. Even if you interpreted that he temporarily died in that moment, it looks like he’s still living for now.

ModeratorI have the poll set to automatically end at approximately 8pm eastern time. If you haven’t voted yet, you still have one last chance.

ModeratorLooks like they were incorrect when they said Will didn’t appear in the finale, according to Matt Mitovich, who also viewed the finale in advanced:

ModeratorPretty sure we’ll never see Nyx again. Her sole purpose was to be a plot device for OUATiW. Especially when “only 5 people” watched the show, as Eddy continues to say. They can’t even devote much screen time to Will, the one current character from said show, and they continue to dance around Anastasia. What makes you think they’ll bring back plot device character ripped off from The Ring? Not to mention, Nyx doesn’t just freely resurrect people, and I doubt she has an interest in resurrecting someone who’s been dead for so long already. She came across as someone who doesn’t like toying with fate. Neal traded away his own life for Rumple to be able to return. That was the price, and Nyx isn’t one to void the price of one’s actions. Anastasia was an exception, because she was destined to continue on, and was revived rather quickly.

ModeratorThe biggest snag of any Neal returning theories is MRJ’s lack of availability.
This is true. But sometimes even actors who’re on other shows become available for guest appearances (e.g. Christopher Gorham appearing in multiple episodes of S3b when he was on the show Covert Affairs). It just depends on whether the actor in question MRJ would even want to come back if A&E asked him back. They’ve said on the record they would love to work with him again, but whether he’d want to work with them again is the real question in my mind. We don’t know what the true circumstances surrounding MRJ’s departure from the show were. We can hypothesize that the writers decided to go in a different direction, and so MRJ left. Or maybe MRJ asked to leave like Meghan Ory did when her character, Ruby, didn’t get the kind of screen time or attention she’d been led to believe she’d get.
Covert Affairs is a cable show, so there’s more leeway. Especially when they film less episodes per year compared to network shows. If Neal were to return on the show in some capacity, which is still somewhat possible, chances are it would be for a flashback. Neal’s not the type of character you can resurrect for like one or two guest star appearances and then just randomly leave when MRJ’s not available again. He’s Henry’s father, and it would be in his character to stick around. I’ve seen suggestions of sneaking a Neal resurrection in the series finale if possible, but personally I would see that as an even bigger discredit to the character. “Oh we killed him off for so many episodes, but see he’s back just for this ONE final episode. You forgive us now, right?” And yeah, we don’t know how MRJ would really feel about wanting to come back. That’s the thing about any actor on the show. Unless they have the actors contracted as a series regular, they are completely at the mercy of their other commitments. Just look at actors like Jamie Dornan and Sebastian Stan, who keep getting more work and are even more in demand than they were back when they started on OUAT.
