ModeratorIf you do a Google search with the phrase, you can verify that this was indeed posted on ABC’s recap for the last episode. Looks like this plot point is legit, guys.

ModeratorI’m nervous for that because I don’t know that I trust A and E to actually cast someone of Arab origin.
I feel like the casting for those two will be opened up to people of Middle Eastern and Asian descent. Naveen Andrews is Jafar, and he’s of Indian descent, rather than specifically Arab.

ModeratorKat claims that Isaac has a surname, but that it’s too spoilerly to reveal:

ModeratorI should note this would match with what the press release mentioned about Regina gaining leverage over Rumple:
In Storybrooke, Regina gains leverage to keep Gold from interfering with her plan to rescue Robin

ModeratorMaid Marian has always been Zelena? All the time she was in Storybrooke, Maid Marian was Zelena in disguise, quietly moving in on Robin Hood to spite Regina? So this was true when she told Regina that Regina could have Robin Hood because she, Maid Marian, was moving on? And this was true when she unwittingly ate some magicked ice cream that turned her into an ice statue for the entire time Elsa was in town? And this was also true when she first came to Storybrooke and immediately recognized Roland, who Zelena had never seen before?
This has been brought up before, but I think Zelena was giving Regina false hope. She gave Regina that talk to make her think that she was about to get her happy ending with Robin Hood, only to take it away by appearing to be under the freezing spell again. Zelena admitted that her plan of making Robin fall in love with her wasn’t working, so she needed another tactic to ruin Regina’s happiness. Marian falling under the freezing spell again when Ingrid’s magic wore off for everything else never made sense to begin with. I think the first time Marian wad frozen was an actual accident on Zelena’s part, as she had no idea who Ingrid was, nor knew she would be a threat. Ironically, Regina actually saved Zelena’s life in the process. Twice actually, since Regina protected her from being smushed by Marshmallow. As for Roland, Zelena had been spying on all of them during the missing year in the Enchanted Forest. Zelena also kept tabs on everyone back in Storybrooke, too.

ModeratorI said this back when this was a spoiler, but I’ll say it again. I do genuinely believe that they planned on this Marian=Zelena plot twist since the end of Season 3. Many fans thought just the way Zelena “died” last Season was off, and plenty did suspect Marian not being the real Marian even back then. If they wanted Zelena dead for good, why not just have Rumple crush her heart like he typically does to his other victims? I think the writers still wanted more to do with the character, and didn’t want to just end things there and then. Does that mean the execution wasn’t sloppy? Certainly not the case. It’s clear they had this Marian returning subplot as merely an obstacle for Outlaw Queen, but they always needed a way out. I’d rather not have this thread turn into yet another moral debate concerning Outlaw Queen, for the record.

ModeratorThe ratings until the season finale are largely going to depend on how the GA feels about the latest plot developments. Is Zelena being alive something that they are sold on or something they didn’t like at all. To be fair, I’m seeing both reactions around the interwebz today.
Zelena’s reception within the fandom is split. She does have a lot of fans, there’s no denying that, but of course she has plenty of haters too. From my observation, people who like the character are thrilled that she’s back, while those who hate her are the ones most annoyed that she’s back. How that will effect the ratings, only time will tell.
MatthewPaul
ModeratorYep, definitely a new series low. I suspect ratings will remain fairly flat for the next 3 weeks, maybe going down to a 1.5 one week, but the 2 hour finale will most certainly go back up.

ModeratorSo aren’t half the magic doers of the world walking around as other people in order to prevent magically thick blood.
I’m not saying you’re not right, but I’m saying it’s problematic and sloppy.
No, I wouldn’t think the glamour spell would undo that. The glamour spell is more of an illusion. Zelena’s heart might still look like Marian’s, but that doesn’t undo whatever darkness in it.
