There’s an inconsistency in Chernabog’s size. When he’s perched on the clock tower, he looks huge with the clock tower being dwarfed by him. When he’s facing off against Regina and Emma, he’s only slightly bigger than they are, about 7 or 8 foot.
Might just be the shot perspective. He looks smaller when the camera is further away from him, but looks bigger when the shot is tight on him.
I think maybe the hat had been used in the past to trap more than fairies. The EF is probably filled with more magical creatures than that.
My theory is that the Sorcerer only intended to use the hat to capture dark magical creatures that posed a threat like Chernabog, rather then using it to absorb just anybody who’s magical.
I keep looking at the screen and I swear it looks like he’s wearing a belt or something. Either that or bad CGI rendering. 0:51 is where I see.
I think he’s wearing a loin cloth with a belt buckle.
