Wow. We’re being spoiled this year! I remember that last year all of the promo were full of old footage right up until a week before the premiere.
Pretty sure the footage in that first promo is purely promotional footage only, and it’s not footage from an episode. Hence Dark One Rumple and Evil Queen Regina being in those scenes. Still cool, though.
[adrotate group="5"]Surprised nobody has commented on there being yet another new writer. Scott Nimerfro’s resume is pretty vast. He’s a writer and producer known for Pushing Daisies, Tales from the Crypt, X-Men (an associate producer for the first film), Ringer, and Hannibal. He’s also written a few episodes of TRON: Uprising, which might be how Adam and Eddy know him. There is the chance he might just be a guest writer, and not a full time Once staff writer, which wouldn’t be the first time. Vladimir Cvetk, for one, only co-wrote “Hat Trick.”

Yeah I’m pretty suspicious about why they’ve announced a second half star (which won’t air until March let alone start filming until about January) when we’re about 5ish weeks away from the first arc, which isn’t Mal tied at all.
Actually, the past two seasons they have started filming Episode 12 in the second last week of November.
Yep. 312-314 were all filmed before the Holidays.
A&E probably always wanted to bring Maleficent back, movie or not. She is the most popular of the Disney villains, and she was only given limited screentime previously because Kristin was tied up with True Blood. Of course the movie was likely an extra incentive to do so, but let’s face it, it probably still would have happened. Whether it will strictly be flashbacks, or if there’s some “magical handwaving” to bring her back in present day, remains to be seen. Either way, I always wanted to see her story on the show fleshed out more, especially in regards to Aurora and Philip. I mean Aurora and Maleficent have yet to share a single scene. Another thing is if Season 4B’s major story arc is Sleeping Beauty centric, that’s further bringing the show back to its fairy tale roots.
