Alright, for those who are in, what would be a good regular time of the day to do the rewatch? I was thinking 6 or 7pm eastern for each day, because I assume most of us would be home around then and it would be before primetime. I know some of us do have our summer shows that we watch, so I want to avoid scheduling conflicts. And yeah, you don’t have to dedicate to watching all episodes at the same time as I watch them, if at all. If there’s an episode you want to watch, but can’t watch as the same time as us, you can simply watch it on your own time.

Scheduling wise, it made sense to split them and they actually are separated into two separate episodes on Hulu and iTunes. However, there will be an encore of both parts the last night for schedule filling purposes.

What RG wrote. I didn’t claim that Neal’s death should’ve been prevented (though that would’ve been in keeping with Marty saving Doc’s life in Back to the Future). My point was: if Neal’s death being reversed would’ve somehow made his sacrifice in vain, then that means Rumple’s death being reversed makes his sacrifice in 3×11 in vain, too.

That much I’ll agree with. I never expected Rumple to remain “dead” (don’t think ANY of us did), but I had suspected there was a twist to Rumple’s disappearance other than what we got.

The thing is, if they had let Rumple not drink the potion and somehow prevented Neal from dying, it would have retconned A LOT of plot and character development from this half of the Season, which would be a lot for casual viewers to take. Preventing Neal’s death would have meant somehow preventing Rumple’s sacrifice against Pan in 311, or having Neal not bring Rumple back in the first place. With the later scenario, face it, there was no chance in Hades they were ever going to let Rumple remain dead. Also, had Neal been kept alive, chances are Rumple wouldn’t have killed Zelena and caused the time portal to open back up to begin with causing a paradox. Point is, any scenario where Neal’s death is prevented would have changed so much that we saw happen.

I suspect Julian Morris simply wasn’t available. Otherwise, I think they would have addressed if Philip had died as a monkey.

There was also the 2010 Alice in Wonderland Disney did with Tim Burton, which I’d say was what inspired the trend. Considering it made over 1 billion dollars. The trend could come to a halt if say Maleficent or any of the future films bombs, but we shall see.

I think this is the perfect show to air during Once’s hiatus, and it was a smart move on ABC’s part. I’m looking forward to it, in all of its campy musical goodness.

    1) Favorite Episode? – “Snow Drifts”/”There’s No Place Like Home.” I just genuinely really enjoyed the finale, and these are episodes I enjoyed the most in quite some time. Yes a lot of it is a redux of “Snow Falls”, but hey I’m a big Back to the Future Fan and I absolutely loved seeing Emma’s reactions to her parents falling in love. It was a HUGE character developing episode for Emma, and she came a long way to fully come to terms with Snow and Charming as her “mom and dad” and Storybrooke as her home. I also got a kick out of how light-hearted most of the finale felt. That Elsa tease at the end gets a mention to for making me excited for Season 4.

    2) Least Favorite Episode? – “Quiet Minds.” Whether it was right to kill of Neal or not is up for debate, I think most of us can safely agree that it could have been executed a lot better. The whole Nealplestliltskin fusion just felt too surreal and out of nowhere. Hypothetically, I think if they had made Neal a double agent trying to outsmart Zelena, and truly sacrificing his life against Zelena in the process, there would have been a lot more potential.

    3) What did you think of Zelena as a character/villain? – I have mixed feelings about her. Rebecca Mader really did have fun in the role, and she brought in a new type of evil. Zelena’s best moments were her sibling rivalry talks with Regina, and when Zelena pretends to be just some nice midwife. Zelena’s weakness as a character for me mainly goes back to her backstory. Her backstory felt rushed, underdeveloped, and she was too quick to turn to becoming “wicked.” I mean, I for one don’t understand why Zelena didn’t just go back and meet Regina to start a new family relationship rather than going to Rumple. Who knows, Regina might have accepted Zelena had Zelena not gone crazy jealous. Overall, Pan was the stronger villain of the Season by far.

    4) Favorite moment? – Emma’s entire speech where she realizes what home really is.

    5) Overall rating for the season? – B+. My enjoyment for the Season outranks my nitpicks, and with Seasons 3A and 3B combined, I actually prefer it over Season 2. Season 2 was still more disjointed, and the entire Home Office thing took a lot of Season 2 down for me.
