I have to disagree about the Charmings getting a full refund for the price of the curse. I would argue that splitting your heart does have a price in itself. It’s likely if one of them dies, they both have to die at the same time now. We saw this idea with Alice and Will on Wonderland. That’s a pretty big risk for the two of them to take.

Probably right, Matt. He made a portal by destroying his ship. Still, why keep that a secret? That’s not something that is shameful or anything.

I think it comes down to a pride thing, rather than trying to hide anything shady. The JR isn’t just a ship to him. It’s his home, and a symbol of his piratehood. This would not have been an easy decision for him to make. Destroying the JR just for a woman he loves would spread the word that he’s gone soft, like Blackbeard said if he had chosen finding Eric over the JR. Maybe he’s also too embarrassed to let Emma know how he came down to making this decision. Also, both the scene with Neal and the conversations between Hook and Zelena clearly show that Hook never aligned himself with Zelena. Nor was it likely in Zelena’s plans for Hook to retrieve Emma. She kept Walsh in NYC to make sure she never leaved, because Emma’s magic was a threat to her. When that failed, she turned to option B with the cursed lips.
Since the Hook casting the curse with the JR theory is now dead, I am now 90% sure he either used its ashes or turned it into a wardrobe to create a portal. Explains how Hook kept his memories and why the JR is missing in action.
In 315, the hospital scene, didn’t Neal say thank you to Hook for giving Emma the message to return to SB? So, hook knew the message was from Neal…….which means Hook lied in 319 when he said he didn’t know who sent the message. Not looking good for Mr. Hook.
Except that Neal didn’t have his memories at that point, so either this is a continuity error or he just heard that Hook was the one to get Emma. If it’s the latter, Neal’s letter might have been anonymous. Hook said that he assumed the letter was from Snow and Charming. He never said he knew for a fact.
Maybe Hook didn’t escape the curse and there was enough potion in that vial for both him and Emma. Still doesn’t explain what happened to the Jolly Roger, though.

In Storybrooke, Henry and Regina talk about the last year. Henry asks about Robin Hook, and Henry meets him. Regina tells Robin he’s so much more likeable here in Storybrooke. Emma asks Hook what Zelena meant about Hook having failed her. Hook tells Emma about the curse on his lips. Emma says she can’t trust him now. David and Mary Margaret tell her she’s right not to trust him because they didn’t send Hook the message. Hook says he did get a message, so who else would have done it?
In the EF, Rumple giggles in his cage. Zelena drinks something so she’ll remember the past year, and gives Rumple the choice of whether to remember losing Neal or not, and wants to remember, for vengeance, but Neal splits off of Rumple and tells him they don’t need to remember. Neal writes a note and pins it to a dove and sends it after Killian Jones.
In Storybrooke’s cemetery, Emma and Henry remember Neal as a hero, as Mary Margaret and David look on. Mary Margaret goes into labor!Preview!: Dorothy asks Glinda if she’s not in Kansas any more! MM in labor. Zelena arrives in the hospital. Regina confronts Zelena in the hospital.

In the EF, Snow argues there has to be another way, but Charming says they have to do this for their child. Charming thinks he’s going to die! Aww… Snow cries and tells him she’s loved him since the first moment she saw him. Regina tells Charming it’s going to hurt, but it will work. She reaches in and takes his heart, and Snow crushes Charming’s heart, and he falls to the ground. Snow falls on Charming’s body. Zelena flies in and the bubbling potion turns green. She knows about the dark curse, and she’s going to change the curse so that they won’t remember Zelena and Snow won’t know why Charming isn’t in Storybrooke.
In Storybrooke, Henry tries to wake up Regina, and she does wake up. Regina tells Henry she loves him, and kisses his forehead. The curse breaks! MM tells Emma that Zelena didn’t cast the curse – they did. MM tells Emma that Emma is the only one who can defeat Zelena. Emma asks how both MM and David are still there if one of their hearts is missing.
Back in the EF, Snow asks Regina to rip out her heart and split it so that both Charming and she will survive. Snow believes her heart is strong enough for both of them. Regina does it, and gives each of them half of Snow’s heart. Charming – finally – wakes up! The curse begins!Commercial! CIL lawn touch-up from Canadian Tire!
