ParticipantXavier is a strange name. Here is what i found on a wep page about it:
Xavier x(a)-vier as a boy’s name is pronounced ecks-ZAY-vee-er, ZAY-vee-er. It is of Basque origin, and the meaning of Xavier is “new house”.
From Etcheberria. Saint Francis Xavier was a 16th-century Jesuit missionary who took Christianity to the East Indies and Japan.New house ? maybe ’cause they have to sell the castle after Rumple is done with them π
Or maybe something to do with Savior. That sounds alike.

ParticipantWhy scratch ?? It’s no problem they are not blood related. Regina and King Leopold.

Now that I wrote this, Eva and Cora are two similar names aren’t they ? I wonder what the meaning of Eva is !?
I think the name Eva is pointing to the biblical Eve who fell from paradice (perhabs into Wonderland π )
Cora as her sister is standing by watching Eva get everything she wants, the prince and the kingdom. She is jelous and lures her sister into her demise like the snake in the apple tree. Maybe Reginas tree will come in to play her. It’s a tree from her childhood garden, maybe even from the sisters Cora and Evas childhood garden. Where Cora poisons one of the apples.Grimmsister
ParticipantThis is why Coras love for Regina is so screwed up. She probably harboures some hate and feelings of remorse, that she had to give up the kingdom and the power because of Regina. And then she has been taking it out on her daughter her whole life.
That’s also why she always says “love is weakness”- Love for her daughter and the need to keep her safe from Rumple is what robbed her of the chance to rule the kingdom.Grimmsister
ParticipantOh yes ofcourse π I didn’t even make that connection But that’s so clear- prince Henrys marriage could change King Xavierβs fortunes- Duh ! π

ParticipantCora and Snows mother sisters π yes! love it. It ties it with the fairytale Snow white and Rose red, gives Cora a possibility of motiv to hate and want revenge on her sister- maybe she kills her.. She wanted what her sister had, the prince, the power, the good life.
Snows mothers name is Eva- maybe Eve, the original bible version Eve who took a bite from the original bible apple and fell from grace, paradice- either she died or she lives in Wonderland as the White Queen as Phee pointed out.
Has there been a spoiler on who is going to play Eva ?

ParticipantWhat.. I’m confused, Midas is Xavier, Henry is George ?? How do you mean they are both ?
I’m thinking ‘Hey so Reginas father Henry was a prince.. But he wasn’t a king when we last saw him. What happened ?

It also made me wonder, if magic effects Emma’s power of feeling if someone is lying. We already know it is being interrupted by emotion, maybe magic messes it up even more. Otherwise, she should have known that Regina was telling the truth. What do you think?
Very good point. The magic is clouding her judgment.

ParticipantHoly Blimey Crikey and What Not !! You just made me think- the cost is Henry. Didn’t Emma say something like “This is a price we are both going to pay” and they where already debating about who gets Henry. Regina said all magic comes at a price.. then Emma said, this is a price we are both going to pay. I guess this has always been what many of us thought would happen.
But to me its clear now. I think this season is going to end with Henry gone, either dead or presumed so. Last season ended with him coming back just last minute, they wont be so lucky this time. This show has a long record of bringing back passed events several times in new ways. And this time it is going to be Emma’s magic tricks that does the deed, as opposed to Regina’s trick with the apple last season.January 7, 2013 at 9:22 pm in reply to: THE CRICKET GAME : FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE MOMENTS #167373Grimmsister

So the books that we read must have been written BASED of this world and not the other way round. The FTL must have been the predecessor.
Not neccesarily! …That’s exactly the egg/chicken dilemma π And in this case Destiny or Free will ??

Which brings me to the question – do OUAT characters tend to stick to either end of the grey scale ie black or white because they are bound to do that by the books and they don’t really have a free will as such, OR are the books truly only successors of the real life stories that happened and exaggerate the personalities to clarify stands? If it was the former, I agree, it would seem that breaking the curse would set them free BUT it would also create excuses for all the evil that happened in FTL because ‘it was destined to do so, no matter what’? Wouldn’t that mean, forget EVERYTHING that happened back there, conveniently, *(please avoid obscenities)* of the Evil Queen as well as Snow White being a saint because they had no control over what they were doing
The writers don’t have to come up with the answers to this its a philosophical question that’s been debated for ages. If there is destiny or if there’s a God who makes everything happen, can any human being then take any responsibility for their actions or are we just puppets ?
If I took a puppet and pulled on the strings and the puppets arm struck a nother person over the head, I think we can all agree that would be my fault. The person would probably be mad at me and not the puppet π Hypothetecly speaking, if this puppet had a mind and feelings, it might still feel guilty though.. if it didn’t know it was tied up with my strings…A nother thing. Some writers say when they write about characters for a long time and they really love these characters, sometimes they seem to take on a life of their own.. When the writer maybe think he want to go in one direction, but find himself writing in a different direction ? why is that I wonder- maybe you could say the character made a choice of his free will then π― π
