I found this interview with Colin talking about Hook and Emma
Jentrom15Flicka: Who knew Captain Hook was so sexy?! Is there any scoop on what's next for OUAT's newest bad boy?
What's next is a journey with Emma Swan that Captain Hook himself, aka Colin O'Donoghue, thinks fans will enjoy very much. “They have a very interesting dynamic between the two of them because Emma is obviously a strong character, strong-willed, and Hook is Captain Hook, you know?” he teases. “So they have an interesting kind of back and forth. That's all I'm going to say at the minute!”The note the reporter put after that made me do some Olympics-level eyerolling. “Sound the love interest bells”. Uh, how about that was incredibly non-descript? Why does interesting back and forth have to mean love-interest? Men and women can have interesting dialogue not based on sex/love.

ParticipantI believe the scars are likely because Frankenstein’s monster is stitched out of the parts of multiple dead people.
I really like the Jekyll/Hyde theory. Frankenstein could have accidentally poisoned his brother, killing him. So he dedicates his life to finding a way to bring him back, only when he does, he’s not quite the same. We saw that Daniel still had parts of him remaining, and then he was also a monster. So the brother could be Jekyll while the Frankenstein’s Monster part of him is Hyde.

I just came up with a theory. Well, barely. Speculation. An idea. I was thinking in horror movie terms and that people aren’t always who they think they are. If Doctor Whale being Frankenstein was too easy, what if it wasn’t? I can’t remember if Rumple called Whale victor in Storybrooke, but if he didn’t? What if Whale is not victor, but his brother? Whale is he monster. He killed his brother. They’re twins. Whale is tricking everyone.
How would monster Whale know of the bet Frankenstein made with Rumpel? How would he know that if he brought Daniel back to life he had a chance to earn Regina’s help? He wouldn’t unless the Whale we know is the Frankenstein we saw in the episode.

ParticipantMost men (and some women, even straight ones, like seriously. Those minishorts. Hubba hubba) would be distracted by Ruby. She is like, super hot and confident about it. It doesn’t help that Whale is a bit of a womanizer, so he was even more impacted by it than say, Charming.

ParticipantI looooove this theory. I’ve never been a fan of Bae = Henry’s father, this makes me enjoy the idea of Bae’s relation to Henry a lot more, and also makes me more excited for a Bae/Rumple reunion. I like the idea of them being near the same age, if not Bae being older.

ParticipantI was really sad we didn’t get to see the doors again. 🙁 I wanted some better quality shots to update my doors picture with, but alas. I wonder what that last “All-American” door is now that it can’t lead to our world?
Maybe… American fiction? Like Tom Sawyer?

ParticipantInteresting theory, and it could be a good diversion and add something interesting for David Anders to do in an actually centric episode, but what you’re proposing is that the monster kills him after the events of the episode, right? What about his bet with Rumple? How would the monster brother know what the bet was? How would he have known about Regina’s heart vault and Daniel’s body? How would he know ‘If I bring this guy back from the dead, she will help me’?

Dr. Whale’s arm was ripped off…not much blood and he can get up…put it in a cooler and walk across town??? Not normal.
He seemed pretty bloody in the basement, and with it’s timeslot they have a limitation of how much gore they can actually show, I believe. All he really managed to do before collapsing (until Regina found him) was make himself a tourniquet, but then he was put into a hospital bed. He didn’t go walking around until later, didn’t he?
I do like the theory at first glance, but I’m not sure how well it works in application. 🙁 🙁 🙁
