February 23, 2012 at 6:45 am in reply to: Why did Mr. Gold hypnotize David? (S01E12 spoilers) #137552miaParticipant
Also contains spoilers from episodes after “The Shepherd”.
Remember what Henry said? “He doesn’t remember, thus the curse has yet no effect on him.” (something along those lines) I think that the mobile triggered something, not exactly a memory, but enough so that when he saw the wind mill, the curse took effect.
I think that Rumple wouldn’t have minded if David remembered, but he can be a patient man (not always, I know) and so he’ll wait till he remembers sometimes else. I would guess that only David remembering wouldn’t have any effect on the curse. MM and Emma probably wouldn’t believe him at that point and he would’ve ended up in the closed ward or even dead.
At that point of the storyline it would’ve been too early for anyone to remember and Emma to believe them. We saw that, the next episode with Graham.
I believe that for the curse to be broken every story sort of needs to get right on track. Cinderella already got her happy ending, Graham also got the ending he was supposed to have (unfortunately, but he did). If David&MM had come together that night, maybe Kathryn’s path would’ve been alterned? Although, now she’s missing without anyone knowing why, so maybe it’s not the best explanation.
That’s it at the moment, lost my train of thought. It’s 7:45 am. ><[adrotate group="5"]miaParticipantA bit difficult to read, because it’s so small, but I found it quite interesting:

I wonder if we’ll ever see her on the show. 😉
miaParticipantWelcome to the forum!
Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney movie, too! 😀
miaParticipantYes, the assistant part sure sounds good. I think they could be good friends.
Oh, I didn’t know about the drinking with legal guardian. It’s like the driving with legal guardian permit (or whatever that’s called xD)?
miaParticipantOhhhhhhhhh k.
cruel_fortuna, you’re quickly becoming my favourite theorist! xD That is some amazing idea, your professor should be proud of you!
I absolutely love this theory. I’m just wondering about the when. Are you saying the curse was inacted the way we saw it? Because if it was, well, the castle – or at least the room Snow, Charming and the EQ were in – was crumbling! They would be buried underneath it?
What I like most about this theory, is that it seems fitting of the creators. 😀 It’s so twisted, it seems quite plausible.P.S.: Btw, you’re not the only one writing here, while you should be doing uni stuff. 😀 My sympathies. I should be working on my protocolls about integrated production and my Helvetica project. Not to mention the essay about what Germany should do about their book price regulation and compare it to other European countries …
miaParticipantUh, I like your idea hjbau! Didn’t think of that, but it may well be. They have to get on with that story, too …

Is “New Girl” good?February 21, 2012 at 8:34 pm in reply to: Was the book damaged when they tore down the castle? #137496miaParticipantThe catch with that theory is, that Bealfire (Rumple’s son) would have to become immortal or at least live a few centuries, as Rumple is a few centuries old.
miaParticipantThere are 22 episodes. When the 11th was released there was a press release about abc ordering a full season with 22 episodes. 😉
We only know the names up till the 18th however. At least until Jane posts another foto. xD
February 21, 2012 at 7:48 am in reply to: Fairytales too scary for modern children, say parents #137488miaParticipantWhat the parents often forget, is that the stories (almost all) tend to have a happy ending. Kids forget the parts they don’t like or at least focus on the happy ending.
I remember that I hated the shots in Bambi, I always looked away when Dumbo went to see his mom (sooo sad) and I was always so scared of the wolves and the Beast’s roar in Beauty and the Beast. Still, I loved and rewatched those films a million times.
I loved the story about “The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids”. The wolf eats all the little goats, except for the youngest, who in turn saves them all. The way the story is written (almost as a children’s thriller) is scary, but I always focused on the happy ending.Like FairyTalePrincess says, some parents are way overprotective these days (of course there’s the opposite also). If we just read and told children happy stories all the time, shielding them from everything else, they would get a twisted view of the world.
Ok, that’s enough psychology from me. 🙂
