Maybe she has a check list: 1. clean out office; 2. get rid of black clothes; 3. return everyones hearts; 4. destroy magical beasts and trinkets in crypt; 5. kick back.
[adrotate group="5"]mikeParticipantGreat casting idea. Bette would be great to get.
mikeParticipantI think this episode was very good. Up until she saw that ogre, Emma had that “I can do it all, don’t need your help, since you were never there for me” attitude. The rebellious teen. Although, I can only imagine what it would be like to come face to face with a 20+ foot blood-thirsty freak in the woods at night – that can change ones prospective (and shorts) in a hurry. That one event made her realize that her mom is, and will be, there for her always.
Hearing her mom express her regrets of not able to raise her was very moving to Emma. For me, Snow’s regret and sadness that she will never recapture the moments and time lost with her child, who is now an adult, well, that was just heartbreaking. Closing the nursery door at the end, well, that was basically stating that she was closing the door on that incomplete chapter of her life – very sad. A great performance by both actors.
I think this plot device of sending Snow and Emma to the remains of the EF is excellent; it’s like sending a dysfunctional family on a 30-day wilderness boot-camp to work out their issues – except there are ogres to speed up the process. Great opportunity to move the story along and begin the healing process for mother and daughter. I believe that David, Henry and Regina are doing the same, but in different ways.
Prince Charming and his mom had some nice touching moments. What an easy going gal. Ya, got this arrow sticking out of my chest, never mind that, nice to meet you Snow, how are things? Glad there was some closure given to his mom’s story. The creators are doing a good job of forwarding the stories, but not leaving too many dangling strings and unanswered questions (like what happened with Lost).
mikeParticipantThat was just a typical frost heave. We get those alot in New England. 😆
mikeParticipantFrom what we’ve seen of that crypt to date, I don’t think one can hear the sound of heart beats when they go down into the crypt. By the expression on Henry’s face when he stares at the wall of vaults, and by the fact that he has read the book, I believe the sound was an indication to us (the audience) that Henry understands what is in those vaults. It would be interesting if Henry calls out Regina on her still keeping those hearts, since she has expressed her intent to change. Maybe there is a way to give back the hearts.
mikeParticipantAfter reading everyones comments, I think its highly probable that we are going to get a King George backstory, which will probably include Cora and Rumple. Cora may be George’s former wife (that drank the curse), or she may have been the one that introduced the curse to George’s wife.

Let’s not forget, Regina did go 28 long years without using magic, and during that time she still was manipulative and mean, and to some, truly evil. For her to put down the magic and try to become a better person will take more than just not using magic. She needs a complete personality make-over. How does one atone for the murder of their own father (Henry Sr.), lover – Sheriff Graham, and possible countless others?
She may not have had magic but she had power which can be just as addicting. As Mr.Gold said magic is power so in a way this is the first time in a long time she’s giving up both sides of her addiction.
I like that. Her power as mayor was just as addicting. Hmm, I wonder what role Regina will take in the community now? Will she shut herself off from the town, will she try to resume her role as mayor, but in a good way, will she volunteer to help out, or will she just hang out on the fringes?

mikeParticipantTo me, the King George character, to date, seems somewhat one-dimensional, although, he did serve a purpose of keeping Snow and PC apart for so many episodes. Hopefully Alan Dale will be given more to do with him this season. He can easily become a thorn in the side of David’s plans to restore calm in Storybrook, or he, like Regina, may seek a path towards redemption for his past mistakes.
mikeParticipantI like the King George and Cora theory. Maybe, George knew Cora’s unborn child (Regina) was not his, or couldn’t be his (since he couldn’t have a child with with new queen). So he cast Cora out, where then she hooked up with Henry senior. Good stuff.
