August is a lot like a fatherly figure to Henry. Plus, you forget people you hate, and Emma did seem to hate Henry’s father.
[adrotate group="5"]mujieParticipantThe Wizard of Oz wouldn’t remember. And he wouldn’t be able to leave Storybrooke. Remember why the Mad Hatter remembered? He was mad! Regina enacted the curse. Rumplestiltskin created the curse. The Wizard of Oz wasn’t any of those things. And even if he could remember, it wouldn’t explain why he could leave Storybrooke. Don’t you think that if anyone could remember, the ones would magic (i.e. fairies) would remember? The Wizard of Oz has no reason to remember. He would either have had to be mad, Rumplestiltskin in disguise, Rumplestiltskin’s long-lost twin brohter, Cora Wizard or Regina’s dead love.
Speaking of which, how powerful is the magic of Lake Nostros? Could it even bring back the dead?
Oh, I forgot something, the likely explanation: The blue fairy hid someone else, which also means August was someone in the castle at the time Regina enacted the curse.
mujieParticipantI have a feeling they want Henry’s father to come to Storybrooke. You don’t have a scene that means absolutely nothing, and the only reason I can think of Emma telling Mary Margret that Henry’s dad wasn’t such a good guy would be that Henry’s dad is coming to Storybrooke at some point in the story.
Now, August is probably going to be the only stranger in Storybrooke for a long time. Which means he was somewhat in the same position as Emma. I doubt they’ll do that for someone else.
Which means, if they were to bring Henry’s dad to Storybrooke, the only logical choice would be August. He’s the only person in Storybrooke who could possibly be Henry’s dad at the moment. Maybe they won’t say that specifically in series 1, but I’m sure of it.

The Return is Kathryn returrning, but I believe August is Baelfire because TV shows don't believe in coincidences.
If August is Baelfire, how did he avoid aging all that time? That’s why I also believe he’s Pinocchio.
I finally believe he’s Henry’s father. I thought of it when rewatching episode 9. Of course Emma wouldn’t mention Henry’s father to Mary Margret if he wasn’t going to return some time in the series or in the same episode.
Also, aren’t the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen dead and not fairytale characters. That’s just people who think it would be a good plot twist. Does anyone really August is them.
And the opening titles. They changed “Only one knows the truth” to “Who knows the truth?” Because now we know Mr Gold does too. And the Mad Hatter, ish, etc. They also changed “Only one can break the spell” to “Who can break the spell?” What if the Blue Fairy was lying when she said the tree can only hold one? Or she meant one fully-grown adult, so Pinocchio and Emma…
And that’s how August remembers.
Wait, you believe August is Henry’s father? Don’t you think Emma herself would have recognized him? They acted as if they had met for the first time. and not just in front of other people, but while they were alone too.
Well, it was 10 years. He may have changed his look, and name. Plus, Emma might have forgotten how he looked. She seemed to hate Henry’s father from how she spoke about him in episode 9. And as noticed, August and Emma do seem to have a loving relationship and he does act like a father to Henry.

mujieParticipantI’ve been thinking as well. First, I think August is Bae. But if he is, how did Bae not age? So I think he might also be Pinocchio. Through magic. Otherwise he would be dead. And he seems the same age as Emma.
Also, in episode 9, Emma said that Henry’s dad wasn’t as great a person as she told him. Every piece of dialogue is added to a TV show for a reason. After rewatching episode 9, I realised that they might put Henry’s dad in the show at one point. August appeared the same episode and seemed to act like a father to Henry…
mujieParticipantI actually agree with the theory that August could be both Bae and Pinnochio.
Of course August must be Bae. The episode with Bae and Rumplestiltskin. Mr Gold's trying to find out August's true identity. Too much of a coincidence. The next episode is the backstory of Pinocchio. And how come August is still so young if he is Bae? Rumplestiltskin can't age but Getappo (if that's how you spell it) became an old man.
mujieParticipantDoes the book mention everything? Does it mention how Regina became Queen? Surely Henry would know, then? You’re probably right about Emma though. How could she believe it? And someone could have made it up using storybrooke characters. I wish I knew exactly what was in the book.
mujieParticipantThe Evil Queen removed the Huntsman’s heart and he lived.
Maybe the Curse is breaking.
mujieParticipantDidn’t she already start believing from Episode 17?
