Regina’s loss is still heartbreaking, but to put it in perspective Regina herself hired Hook to kill her mother. Took him a while, but since the wound he inflicted on Rumple was transferred to Cora…that’s kind of what eventually happened.
Great post! This part stuck out to me as I didn’t think of it that way earlier but it’s brilliant. Hook is bound to be upset that Rumple is fine but he accomplished something (in a very roundabout way) and I could see Regina being super ticked with him for causing all of this by going after Rumple.
We’ve seen Emma tends to try to protect just about everybody (and she hid Hook at the hospital so that Rumple wouldn’t kill him right then) so it’ll be interesting to see who’s on what side. Emma may have to protect both Hook from Regina and Rumple from Hook. Not to mention the Snow angle, yikes. Things are definitely heating up and can’t wait to see how various people react to the chaos. I think we’ll see a few shake-ups and perhaps some “the enemy of my enemy is my friend’ moments. Should be fun!

MysteryKat25ParticipantThey look a bit more alike when Henry Sr isn’t in OUAT. Also…Cora has magic and I could see her magically “knocking him down to size” so that he no longer towers above her. The Henry Sr. we’re used to seeing seemed to just take whatever was dished at him because Cora is such a bossy person. Hope we get some in between backstory to fill in some gaps. We already know that she REALLY shrunk him down to size in Wonderland when she put him in the chest so nothing would amaze me at this point.
She could have easily magically altered him to make herself feel superior. In most Alice in Wonderland stories the King is considerably shorter than the queen. I think it fitting that when we first meet young Henry he’s tall and dashing and full of hope and lightness and then see what he became.

I don’t think so. that Snow would allow such a spell for her this time. I think that she will want that Regina kill her, because of her guilt that she will not able to live with it. This will also the reason why Regina will not kill her. The greatest pain she can cause this time to Snow is to let her live with this pain and also she will see that it would hurt Henry to much.
Interesting theory! It’s kinda like what happened with An Apple As Red As Blood – Snow willingly biting the apple.

MysteryKat25ParticipantAs if we aren’t anxious enough as it is they’re teasing quotes left and right to make us crazy for the last bit leading up to it airing. On the bright side it shows that many unexpected things could still happen in this episode even though we’ve had tons to dwell on already!

Yeah, maybe it just has been balancing his emotions…so he hasn’t been truly dark in SB, at least as dark as before?
Seeing Oz:The Great and Powerful has confused me because now I’m all “its keeping him from turning greeeeen!!!” lol
If he takes off that ring and turn green/gold, I will probably never stop laughing. Can you imagine Emma’s reaction??
Oh man, that would be hilarious! Would also explain Regina’s quip about too much magic turning one green (and goodness knows Rumple has done his fair share of magic!) Emma’s expression would be priceless for sure!

KFChimera: 1) I adore your name, haven’t had the chance to say that. 2) I want to see more Whale cause I agree that Anders is excellent (loved him in Alias and Heroes). And I don’t mind one more Whale flashback so long as it really fits with what is happening in *whatever land we happen to be in* 🙂
3) re Tamara: that would be interesting if she wasn’t Tink but a descendent of Wendy. They’re casting a Wendy (at least that’s what we assume) but there is nothing to suggest what time period they are putting her in. NealFire Pan could have visited the original Wendy in the time period Peter Pan is normally set in and then Tamara finds Neal centuries after Wendy, except that Pan’s grown up because he’s no longer in Neverland.Agreed on all counts! David Anders is definitely growing on me. I hated the idea of Frankenstein but it worked in nicely and he’s much more likable now! Gotta admit, I did kinda love the FrankenWolf interaction and wouldn’t mind more of that. He was such a sleeze last year but they’d be alright now. Before FrankenWolf was coined all I could think of was MonsterMash.
Also re: Wendy…Peter could easily have kept visiting subsequent generations and then either finally left or got stuck in our world when the curse hit. If he did just get stuck here, maybe it wasn’t to stay with whatever Wendy generation but he did know them and eventually found his way back to the current one. Still kinda hoping there’s a connection to Morraine in there somewhere at the start of the Wendy line maybe. Would explain a gravitation toward Wendy if she reminds him of Morraine who he was obviously concerned about. Although that still begs the question of why be associated with anybody who relates in any way to the FTL world since he doesn’t seem to like that much…but if it were a Wendy descendant instead of say, Tink or Tiger Lily, then it would still be a real-world person who happens to understand him a little rather than an actual FTL person.
Otherwise he’s just a total hypocrite and maybe Emma does have a decent read on him. He can be charming when he wants but he hurt her badly just because Pinocchio knew who he was and he didn’t want to have anything to do with the people of FTL and was upset that she was one of them / wanted her to find her family but he didn’t want his family to find him. Can’t wait to see how this mess plays out. So much potential. (If it were easy, we wouldn’t have a show).

MysteryKat25ParticipantI agree with all of this. It would also explain the pushing back again of Ariel. I think they wanted her earlier but if they really wanted her connected to Neverland they had to wait to establish Hook and for that they had to wait til S2 to get the rights in the first place!
Kinda like how last year they said it might be a few seasons before we find out who Henry’s dad is and then as soon as they’re allowed to mention a land where you don’t age for awhile…NealFire shows up!
It makes total sense that Ariel would somehow connect to Neverland. Hello Mermaid Lagoon and the pirate ship! So excited about finally getting to see how that all plays out. Neverland has been on my dream list of things for them to show for agesss.

MysteryKat25ParticipantEmilie said she’ll be live-tweeting the episode tonight as well so that makes Snow, Charming, Red, & Belle + Jane Espenson. Gonna be an interesting night on twitter!
Since I’m on the East Coast I’ll see Jane’s through the first viewing and then I’ll rewatch the episode when it starts on the West Coast so I can figure out where all of their tweets fit in I guess. Love when they get interactive like that!
It’s also brilliant cause it gets those who view it first to rewatch the DVR WITH the commercials when the episode airs on the West Coast (not sure if it counts otherwise? I’m not up on all of the DVR things as to how they count who has watched it but in order to keep up with the live tweets I won’t be fastforwarding through the commercials so that should help out some maybe?)

MysteryKat25ParticipantI just keep going back to when there were a gazilllllion posts saying that Hook was dying because the actor was never seen on set. There’s this little thing called “not being seen out in Steveston because they’re not in the episode”…there’s also a little thing called “green screen” that Steveston people can’t get access to, and there’s also purposeful hiding if at all possible to keep SOMETHING a surprise…ie: waiting to film til they’ve made it seem like they’re done for the night and all the fans have gone home – I’m assuming nobody literally stalks the set 24/7 (I could be wrong). In Colin’s case he had a broken leg and they had him in short scenes and then he could go home. He was tweeting out pictures of hanging out with Lee Arenberg – Grumpy so I still don’t know why everyone was stirring up trouble.
So…it is likely that Cora IS gone. However, she could also be only on green screen…she could have a few weeks off and be coming back in some huge way (remember Regina disappeared for a bit into her underground lair to hide out, if Cora lives she could do something like that too: retreat elsewhere in a puff of smoke and then we don’t see her for awhile.
I do think Cora is the goner tonight but even the best clues from set can still be a misdirect. After all they were convinced Emma was Cora because offering cake to Regina on her way out from the party was clearly a Barbara Hershey reference to those on set when it wasn’t anywhere close.
Sometimes they get the spoilers right but until we see everything on the show and in context I just say take it all with a grain of salt.
