I knew it. Cora was the heartbreaker in this situation. I remember redsing a review that said the alleged “heartbreaking scene” between Rumpel and Cora will harken back to Rumpel’s words to Belle in Skin Deep. “No one can ever love me!” I think Cora winds up breaking Rumpel’s heart by the end of the episode.
I repeat my mantra of basically this entire week: SHE MUST DIE.
I know there are many who claim Rumple deserves it or that he’s just evil but no one deserves that. She must die. š šThe only concern I have with killing Cora…is what “big bad” is coming next? So for now I’m on board, just makes me wonder that if she’s so bad and causing all these problems then what will our heroes be facing once she’s gone? Is it Sunday yet?!?

MysteryKat25ParticipantEveryone is shades of grey and I love it. I agree with Jolly Roger on the planned thing: the writers have always wanted to bring in Peter Pan characters but couldn’t get the rights last season. So as far as I’m concerned, even though Hook is “new” this season, he was always meant to play a big part.
It’s like last season when they said we may not learn who Henry’s father is for awhile and then bam: they get the rights and Bae is brought to present day. Nothing is done haphazardly, we just can’t see all the strings being pulled.
Hindsight is 20/20 and it makes this one of the easiest shows to rewatch because there is ALWAYS something new to discover. š

MysteryKat25ParticipantI was considering writing the longest post to date and decided to bite my tongue. Surayya – I feel your pain. Instead let’s just remember a couple fun little facts:
HE’S A PIRATE…but he has a code, and you don’t mess with pirate code unless you want Captain Teague to snap another guitar string! Enough said.
And possibly my favorite Captain Hook trivia of all time:
“Walt Disney insisted on keeping Hook alive, as he said: “The audience will get to liking Hook, and they don’t want to see him killed”
Walt Disney himself said that Captain Hook was one of those villains he just couldn’t bring himself to kill off because the audience would enjoy him too much. A very wise man indeed, even if it took decades and an overhaul to accomplish such a task for some š
Here’s hoping the writers agree with this too…

WHAT I DO NOT LIKE is the inconsistency of EVA’s character… You do not start as a young lady who trips people and is bratty and then turn into an UNSELFISH, Loving ruler…. What changed her and made her good? What transformed her character?
The show does this all the time write their characters inconsistently to drive the plot. It drives me NUTS! To me it is lazy writing.
N
.
.They’re not plotholes or inconsistencies when it’s showing us the past and then filling in the gaps along the way. We only met the character last week! They already showed that Snow was being a brat and learned her lesson and (until very recently) has always strived to do the right thing in honor of Eva and the things she taught her. So what’s to say that Eva didn’t used to be young and stupid and something showed her the error of her ways? I’m sure we’ll see what made Eva smarten up, maybe even this week. She was young here, people get wiser with age (at least I hope so) and realize that they can’t do the stupid stuff they did as kids, it’s not right. We’ve only seen what Eva became, not where she started out. Give her a chance.
Occasionally other characters may seem a little “out of character” but anything that is from a flashback just means that we haven’t actually gotten to see where they got that power, or why they switched so drastically from good to evil. Give it time and more gaps will be filled in. If they weren’t going to go into what made these people who they are there wouldn’t be that much of a plot to begin with and we wouldn’t have a show to enjoy.

Whatās coming the rest of Once Upon a Time Season 2?
Horowitz previewed: āI would say that it is pretty nonstop and that all the pieces weāve put on the table in the start of the season are now finally intersecting and thereās some big reveals and thereās some characterās returning that we havenāt seen in a while and itās all coming together to a finale that we really are very excited about and hope the audience feels the same way.āDoes this include Mulan and Aurora? Or the wraith? That covers more than the first 1/4 season, you know.
I certainly hope so! I know some don’t like them as much but Aurora was really starting to grow on me and we have the whole Phillip situation still! Last year they kinda wrapped back around to events from the pilot so I would like to think that they’ll bring us back to the side quest Mulan & Aurora are on right now to see if there was any truth to what Cora said about saving Phillip. I don’t think it’ll just be off to the side though, I’m sure we haven’t seen them because they haven’t connected to the rest of the recent story but I fully expect it to somehow come together again. I would be very shocked if they don’t get us back to the start of the season in some way, shape, or form.

– with that amount of spoilers, they might release the entire episode already, wouldn’t make much difference…
I felt that way about Tallahassee and they still managed to surprise me with the August appearance (I knew he was going to be there and thought a totally different scene would take place). I think they showed the first act early because people saw it at PaleyFest last weekend (they always show that day’s episode + first 10 minutes or so of the next. Thankfully they don’t do it for every episode!
That being said there have been tons of hype / spoilers for this episode but I am hoping that they still manage to surprise even the hardcore fans. *Fingers crossed*
Jane tweeted something with regards to the sneak peaks and basically said just wait til you see everything in context. They’ve always shown sneak peaks and they should always be taken with a grain of salt because there’s a lack of context but she made a point of reminding people of that this time. I for one am very much looking forward to the context, even if we have seen way more of this episode already than we normally would.

MysteryKat25ParticipantAfter this episode I have a feeling we’ll just see it as tragic. Young Cora was sassy and creative and ambitious and she went too far. We’ll more than likely see something beautiful that could have been and know that she turned into something rotten. This is this season’s Stable Boy is my guess.

I think the “Cora is his soulmate in a lot of ways” is because at this point in time they were vey similar. She may have been the first person Rumple felt some sort of kinship with, until Cora screws him over. “She understands him in a way that other people donāt because sheās not trying to make him a better man.ā Interesting choice of words. Basically Cora accepts him as he is and he doesn’t see any reason why he needs to change, yet Belle is Rumple’s true love and inspires him to be the best he can be.
I agree and since (as far as we know) a kiss from Cora never removed his Dark One curse (or he wouldn’t have been so surprised with Belle’s doing so), then we know the only “true” love is Belle.
Personally I think it was just a poor word choice in answer to a question and just trying to mention that these two characters really understand each other because they’re similar and not that they’re “true love” soulmates, just kindred spirits of a sort. Still, way to freak out the RumBellers with such language!

MysteryKat25ParticipantThanks RaulYbarra – I can never remember who or when other time zones are with the east coast. Still I know I would hate having to stay away from it for hours and I know a lot of the west coasters unfollow so as not to be spoiled.
It can be very fun to have more people interacting and I’d love seeing more (general) things trending. I don’t care for this week’s hashtag just because it is way too spoilery, whereas the ones Fringe did for the last season were fun and mysterious and could be used without shouting #OneWillDie – I would really really love to have something more like the Fringe days so we can at least say we’re watching the episode but without giving too much away (I know some people even hate episode titles and promos).
If somebody could meet people in the middle without something usable that would be great. I loved how the first ep of the season used #MagicIsComing and nobody would have been spoiled by that and I know #CharmAttack has been used as well. Would love to see OUAT have trending things more often, I just tend to hide out in the live chat to avoid ruining something for others. It’s too awesome of a show to risk saying anything major so if there is a live tweet thing going on on both coasts I tend to rewatch and tweet during the west coast viewing just to be on the safe side.
It’s a tough and delicate balance. I would like to think that most would stay away from twitter til it’s time to watch an episode but that’s not always the case.

MysteryKat25ParticipantCan I have Hook’s jacket please? (Not sure what the proper piratey name for such things is – buccaneer jacket? – but I love it and doesn’t look like it’s taken…)
