I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched this ep but I am 100% CaptainSwan! I get that some people liked the Neal / Emma stuff (I didn’t see tons there except maybe puppy love but a lot has changed in the last 11 years!). *If* Neal is Bae then it would be an interesting dynamic I suppose but I feel like a CaptainSwan endgame has more potential and is less predictable too. That may change once we get to know more of all their stories but I just don’t see it. In fact I feel like it’s Lost all over again where there were 2 main legit ships and mine was not the one we ended up with *grrrrrrrr*

Sure, bring Neal back, let them sort out their issues and both be in Henry’s life but I could see other options for both of them. Neal had a sweetness to him that sorta reminded me of Daniel and perhaps he could team up with Regina once she’s redeemed, giving Henry a full set on that side, a dad and step-mom.

I just think the Neal thing is too predictable. Yes they both held on to things from the past but it was a long time ago and they’ve both changed a lot I bet (waiting to see more of Neal). Holding on to things sentimentally is definitely sweet but what happens when the idea you’ve had in your head for 11 years isn’t what you get when meet each other again?

I think the less predictable route would be for Emma to go with Hook. Everybody has been making choices for Emma’s life along the way, even down to August manipulating Neal (grr!). Hook sees her for who she really is and appreciates her for it. He would have never left her at August’s request, he would have found another way for things to work. He doesn’t abandon her like everybody else has either (and he’ll probably be annoyed / impressed that she left him). What was it Hook said to Rumple? “A man who doesn’t fight for what he wants deserves what he gets.” (Hook would fight, Neal ran).

Again, a lot has probably changed in the last 11 years and Neal & Emma definitely have some issues to work out if he shows up (and major Henry drama!) but I’d be happy with them acknowledging that they aren’t who they used to be or who they thought they were and can just find a way to get along for Henry’s sake.

Hook sees through Emma and gets to her in a way we haven’t seen anybody else able to do. She was burned badly by Neal but based on what she said at the end of Tallahassee she did want to trust Hook, she was just afraid to. He’s the only one that can really grill Emma on things and get answers, as well knock down some of those walls. SO MUCH POTENTIAL!

It’ll be awhile before Emma ends up with anybody and she is definitely shipable with a lot of different guys, but I’m really hoping we haven’t seen the last of this!

Looking forward to seeing much much more of Captain Hook (& CaptainSwan!). I think a lot of people are judging him right now on what they perceive to be his story but like we saw with the giant the stories really aren’t the “traditional ones” we know, so from what we’ve seen, Hook may not be what we think we know. As with every story, I try to look at just the ones in OUAT as we’re shown them. Love all the twists they give them and so far we’ve seen a far more sympathetic (albeit pirate) version. Forget the stupid promo department (although I do like the “charming swashbuckler” reference).

Glad somebody agrees with me about him being Peter Pan! Awesome connections, I never would have thought to analyze the phone.

One thing I noticed on re-watch of Desperate Souls is that Bae says he is 3 days away from his 14th birthday which is when he would be sent off to fight in the Ogre Wars. In Hook, a grown-up Peter has 3 days to prepare to battle Hook.

And then there’s the near constant referral to Bae as being either “lost” or “boy” (Peter is very often called just “boy”).

As Peter Pan traveled back and forth between our world and Neverland it’s entirely possible that Bae somehow ended up there and just got stuck in our world at the time of the curse.

Quick question. Alan Dale is listed as Spencer / King George in the guest-star list (that’s fine, I had simply forgotten the DA had a name and it’s Albert Spencer). However…in the main part of the press release it says “Decker – aka King George.” So which is it? It sounds like he is still Albert Spencer, the DA in Storybrooke but where did they come up with Decker?? I have no idea who they’re confusing him with but it’s been bugging me all day.

Perhaps it’ll look better once they’re actually moving rather than the random stills? This episode should give us a lot of answers / confirm a lot of the theories that are going around so I’m excited for it.

I was all prepared to throw a fit when I saw “Oregon” connected with them getting into trouble since we were specifically told that Henry was born in Phoenix. However…apparently there IS a Phoenix in Oregon. Who knew? (Outside of residents of Phoenix, Oregon of course). Why it’s in Oregon I have no clue but hopefully it will make sense in a couple of weeks!

I was pondering out loud yesterday about Dr. Whale’s identity and thought maybe it comes from a Welsh fairy tale (saying Whale’s outloud = Wales), so I glanced around and found one called “Lady of the Lake.” The title immediately jumped out at me because it seems perfectly made for a crossover in OUAT with something from Arthurian legends and we’ve already seen Lake Nostos with a siren in it, etc etc.

When I was skimming the first version of it I came across, I was beginning to lose hope until I got to the end…the lady of the lake’s 3 sons became physicians! In some versions they mention the lady of the lake having FAIRY blood in her, and it always ends with her 3 sons and their descendants becoming doctors as she was a master healer and taught them all she knew.

So I’m wondering, since the writers of OUAT love to crisscross all kinds of fairy tales (including some more obscure ones), if they somehow combined this idea of a fairy tale healer who is the son of the lady in the lake, and perhaps crossed it with something from King Arthur and / or a fairy. That got me thinking about the scene from the finale when Dr. Whale was reacting to having his memories returned and the Blue Fairy (Mother Superior) goes to comfort him. Perhaps “Mother Superior” is a fitting title for her more than just being the head of the fairies?

I know it’s a wild and crazy thought but since we haven’t been able to come up with some big name character we should recognize (like when we figured out Pinocchio), maybe he’s not a famous character that will “knock our socks off” (as the actor has teased) but rather, WHO the character is related to will shock us! (ie: the lady of the lake or the blue fairy, etc). Just a thought!

I thought he was the wolf at the beginning of the season so now I’m grasping for straws. Can’t wait til we know for sure!
