I wonder if Lancelot really being alive is one of the stories that got changed, though. It was pretty early on in the season. He could have really been alive and come back to help Snow and Emma, but they decided to get them out of FTL in nine episodes and thus put Lancelot on the back burner.
That’s definitely a possibility. I could have sworn we heard something ages ago about him possibly coming to SB and interacting with Henry and then nothing happened. It’s possible he’s alive out there somewhere though and if they do delve into Arthurian legend at some point, we may see him again. Since they mentioned it in the official podcast and gave people hope the character was still alive I’d like to think that maybe his storyline was just backburnered for now and maybe MAP or someone down the line will discover the real one in the EF someday and he can meet up with everyone. If he is alive out there I would like for Snow to find that out someday. After all, she and everyone else owes him a lot – without him Emma would never have been born to save them all. I really loved their friendship.

I’m one of the few people who never got on the “Lancelot is still alive” bandwagon. I actually wasn’t all that interested in him. He was a perfectly fine knight/guy, but I’d be much more interested in seeing Arthur and Merlin. I think it’s very likely that he is dead and we’ll only see Lancelot in flashbacks if get into Arthurian legend.
I think the Lancelot isn’t dead thing comes from the official podcast where they heavily implied that we shouldn’t trust Cora and we never actually saw what happened to Lancelot, along with the fact that they mentioned so many things in describing him that ended up being loose threads. I’d like to see him again eventually. He’s got important history with Snow & Charming and it would be nice to see more of his friendship with Snow, though I’d also like to see more Arthurian legend in general. Merlin would be amazing. Hopefully someday he can show up for something at least to tie up those loose ends and connect some dots.

MysteryKat25ParticipantIt would certainly be interesting to see how he connects to all of this. I’ve really been wanting more on Lancelot / Arthurian legend so hopefully one day we’ll get to that. Charming’s backstory may be related to the early stuff with NL but it could also be later in the season too, so it could connect to either really.
I can’t recall any twins with Arthurian legends that would relate here but it’s been awhile since I’ve read up on it *sighs and adds it to the growing list*
I posted somewhere around here ages ago about Mr. K from True North and how I felt that scene seemed weird and long/drawn out on his super hard to pronounce name (this is the guy from the records office that Emma goes to see about Ava and Nicholas) and he just said “Everyone calls me K” and on rewatch (especially after Lady of the Lake where Lancelot was introduced) this struck me as super odd and in my head he was Sir Kay (he didn’t say they call me Mr. K, just K). He was older than Lancelot and if Charming’s dad is connected to any of that, he would be older as well but it would fit. Not sure based on Charming’s reaction to Lancelot if it’s a possibility, but there’s always a chance that his father wasn’t who he thought he was and didn’t know certain things about him.
I wonder how old Charming was when his dad died? What did he know of him? All we have to go on is that he & Ruth shared true love (based on what we know of the ring) and that he regretted giving up James but had to to save the farm so it sounds like he was just a poor farmer. We got very little out of Ruth regarding all of that. She was very mysterious with everything she said if I remember correctly. Still don’t know who the grain merchant was whose daughter they wanted to have marry David.
Can’t imagine what we still have regarding just Charming’s backstory but since it was worded that way I think we have to assume it has something to do with when he was younger and his parents. Hopefully it’s something amazing and I can’t wait to see how it all ties in together. I’m still trying to wrap my head around Emma’s uncle being James and how much trouble he caused. I imagine we’ll get some of his story with King George possibly too, there are a lot of threads to tie up there as well.

CaptainSwan may take time to grow on some people. I started out very anti-CaptainSwan. It wasn’t until about episode 20 that CaptainSwan started to appeal to me so there is hope yet. Those that hate CaptainSwan now may not hate it this time next season.
You don’t know how happy that makes me feel! So many seem to hate things on the show so much they never want to see it and give it a chance. I hope that with time, people are at least a little more open to the idea and are able to deal with it if it does happen instead of attacking the show or its lovely writers. This show is SO much more than shipping to me and sometimes characters I didn’t like to begin with become some of my favorites. My hope is that characters like Hook are given a chance. Nobody on the show is 100% saint or villain, they’re all lovely shades of grey. The more time we get with them the better we will know them and the more appealing they will become (which is true of anyone).
You just made my day just by being open to it after being very against it to begin with! For me that was Rumple in very early episodes and now I love the character and RumBelle. To each their own and with this show you never know what’s going to happen so even being open to the possibility, especially starting out so against it, is incredible and a refreshing change from all the hate I’ve been getting lately. Thank you!

As weird as this may be for a 16 year old I love knitting even though I’m not particularly great at it. I want to do something ouat related but I just dunno what to do. Has anyone given something like this a shot? Any ideas for me?
I think that’s awesome! So many crafts have lost followings along the way and it’s nice to see some of them are still done! I am a horrible knitter (much better with crochet!) but it’s tough sometimes to find younger people who still do these things. How very refreshing! (I myself am 27 and rarely find someone who does any of this sort of thing – it’s usually grandmothers and aunts and such).
You may want to check out ravelry.com – great crafting community and you can specify knitting and search for things relating to OUAT. Emma’s baby blanket pattern is on there, as well as various hats similar to the ones worn by Ruby and Mary Margaret. I’m sure there are many others, though I haven’t been there lately to check but might be a good place to start!
There’s a crafting thread around here somewhere and I’d love to see more OUAT-themed items show up in it!
Best of luck and please share pics of whatever you end up making!

MysteryKat25ParticipantI just wanna hug my shipmates for hanging in there. I know somewhere out there, we are not outnumbered, not at all. It just feels that way sometimes.
All of my safe havens seem to be closing in on me but my love of CaptainSwan will NOT be torn apart by hateful people who insist on ruining anything positive for them. It doesn’t matter how many times Tumblr people ask CSers to not post in the OUAT or Emma tag for fear of hatred. It doesn’t matter how many mean tweets I see or how often people start “puking at the thought” of CS. It doesn’t matter how many times people tweet in-character and say that SF has to happen because “Emma has to end up with Henry’s real dad” *sigh, Jared*. It doesn’t matter how many times people say we only ship CS because Colin is hot or that we don’t like MRJ’s looks *eye roll*. And it doesn’t matter how hateful people will be while we are celebrating getting some major CS interaction while they are once again on a mission TOGETHER to get Emma back to her son.
All that matters is that we exist. We are Oncers just as much as anyone else is. We have reasons, REAL reasons, to hold out HOPE for our pairing, which is what this show is about.
So to my fellow CaptainSwan shipmates, I salute you for hanging in there. Together we can weather any storm that comes our way.

Hmm. I guess that makes sense about the beans. Kinda kills my whole: “Belle will go after Neal in FTL” theory which makes me sad.
🙁 Well, maybe we’ll learn of some other method of travel. Never know.

MysteryKat25ParticipantIn response to the bean question…I think those pods were empty weren’t they? I feel like I need to go back and check but I thinkthat plant didn’t have any beans left in it or they would have just taken those rather than having Hook & Charming go after them so there were only the 3 we saw and all were used.
Happy for most of the other stuff though, especially CS but mostly just the core cast interacting in NL and seeing how they all approach a common goal from different directions (things should get verrrry interesting indeed!). Happy to see that Emma will be exploring her magic some more too. She needs to know how to use it if the need arises again rather than forgetting about it until the last second.
Glad they mentioned that we’ll see lots of SB people too + Neal, I definitely want to see how all of that goes down and not just forget about them but we knew that they would be included already too (though any extra confirmation is always welcome!)
I couldn’t care less about catering to certain segments of the fandom and hope they just tell the stories they want to rather than feeling pressured to include something they hadn’t intended to but are at least open to ideas, even if I don’t particularly care for them. To each their own.
Yay for more backstories for the interesting characters. There are lots of gaps to be filled in and I am looking forward to that for sure.
I would imagine NL will take up the first half season with PP being the big bad and then something else may be going on for the 2nd half but I guess it depends on how big of an arc they want to give him / NL.

MysteryKat25ParticipantI’d like to see Granny get some screentime for sure and her backstory that we know from OUAT wouldn’t be important to know to enjoy her running the diner (for instance) in OUATIW – it really does look like her diner in those pics from the trailer. She’d definitely be a character that would be easily loved and with no complicated introductions unlike, say, Emma. I definitely want to see more of Granny, she’s awesome!
Keeper of Hook's Trenchcoat.
MysteryKat25ParticipantApparently there was some confusion after this was released because people started panicking that various characters we love from OUAT would definitely be having adventures over in OUATIW. What actually happened is the apparently hypothetical nature of potential crossovers and I’m sure that Josh & Emilie were happy to talk in hypotheticals about what they would love to do if given the chance but here’s what Adam has said on the subject from twitter after a lot of confusion about getting questions about Belle going to the spinoff…
So while we *may* see people or places we know, there is nothing yet to suggest that anything significant is happening because while they want OUATIW to be in the same mythology world that OUAT is in, the casts are in fact separate and running their own stories. (They always envisioned Wonderland as being its own thing without really needing to have watched OUAT anyway but this clarifies that a bit).
It would be nice to see little cameos of people we know and see how they cross over with stuff, but I really think Wonderland is supposed to be its own thing and we can’t really have our main OUAT characters having a significant part of their story being told on the other show in case people actually do watch just one or the other. I do expect to see some cameos though to help the people that do watch OUAT make some connections with what’s going on in OUATIW but it probably won’t be too significant regarding their characters for the above reason.
