If that is the case then there are only two stories left to tell and it seems they will be in FL after all the last two stories were in Henry’s Fairy Land Book isn’t the title “Fairy Land” which means Henry won’t have to carry that book around anymore 😛 :
The book is actually “Once Upon A Time” and covers stories from FTL. That being said, I’m sure there are lots of things in the book that we as viewers just haven’t seen yet. They weren’t going to show every possible story in Henry’s book in Season 1 and then have us just counting down and crossing them off. Some stories, like has been mentioned, have had little nods to them, but I bet there are sections of the book that haven’t been explored yet.
It’s one of those cases where the characters know what all is in the book because they’ve flipped through it so many times and/or lived it so don’t need to refer to it as much, but we don’t know all of it yet. Henry hasn’t had to carry the book around much except to explain things to new people or to double check and declare that people like Frankenstein aren’t even in the book. We’ve hardly seen it since the curse broke so I don’t think he’s really having to carry it around like he used to when he was on a mission to discover who everyone was.
Oz has had lots of clues both in the book and various storylines / mentions so I bet we’ll see that before too long as it’s one of the most built up stories that we haven’t actually seen. We’ve seen/heard of at least 2 methods of travelling to/from there (slippers + door in the hat) and seen the flying monkeys in the book since the pilot etc etc.
Not all nods to things follow the original stories directly. (IE: in Peter & the Wolf, I don’t recall Peter DATING the wolf and then being killed by her). So things like Snow White & Rose Red are given nods to by showing how close Red & Snow are, whereas other stories get more nods because there’s more things they can do with it and still incorporate it into the story they want to tell.
Why they keep using The Golden Bird as the text for 99% of what we see as text in the book I do not know, nor do I know if we’ll ever really see much relating to it.
I agree that most of what we’ll get in the future doesn’t really require looking at Henry’s book since most people are pretty open about who they are now and he’s not having to do as much research to try and figure out the connections. With so much stuff NOT being in the book, we don’t have as much of a roadmap left to go off of based on what we’ve seen, but it opens up the canvas to other worlds that Henry isn’t familiar with and lets him go on the adventures he wants to instead of being the kid with all the answers. He was confident before because he knew what kinds of things happened and he wanted to be the hero he read about.
We’re basically at the point where Henry’s comment from S2 comes into play – he doesn’t want to just read about the heroes, he wants to be one. Can’t wait to see what happens with Neverland and I hope it’s not just “rescue the kid” but that Henry uses his vast knowledge of fairy tales and finds a way to help himself a little too. Since we haven’t really played much with the typical “damsel in distress” princess types, I want to see Henry put a little of his lessons into good use (we know he reads the book a lot so he has book-smarts, he was learning to swordfight from Charming, we never did see him get to actually ride a horse yet but that won’t help him in NL anyway so that can be saved for the EF etc etc but I’d like to see him come into his own. He doesn’t want to be treated like a little kid so he’s gonna have to step up and do something about it and now would be a good time. I’m looking forward to the group going on an adventure there to rescue him, but I’d love to see Henry be a big part of the mission being successful and/or at least help them find a way to make something happen).

MysteryKat25ParticipantI wondered what Adam was talking about on twitter. There have been a few panels here and there with various people but I am especially curious about this one since it’s H&K! Wonder if anybody will get some video cause I don’t think this one is going to be online anywhere (though I could be wrong). I know PaleyFest puts its stuff up but so many don’t. Hope we can hear from people who get to go or we find a way to watch it as I’d really love to see what they have to say, especially now that they’ve spent some time officially in the writer’s room for Season 3!

MysteryKat25ParticipantThanks Jasminegirl!
You reminded me of this fun twitter convo between Keegan (Blue Fairy) & Colin:
The answer she was looking for I believe is Eton if I am not mistaken. So Hook does have a good background (and also plays piano!) – it’ll definitely be interesting to see what they do with Hook’s background in general but this is what came to mind just now.
Another thing I wanted to point out that just came to mind (and I really need to make a graphic of it once season 2 hits Netflix so I can get pretty screenshots of Hook!):
* Right before Graham dies *sniff* he thanks Emma for helping him remember & “feel something”
* Hook’s first line to Emma was “Thank you” and at the end of 2×22, says “Maybe I just needed reminding that I could” [care about something other than myself – aka, feel something about someone else *cough*]So she helped both of them “remember” who they really are / really want to be (cause we know that deep down, under the facade, Hook is just as capable of epic love as anyone else!). So many CaptainSwan/Gremma feels but I think one helps set up the other down the line for sure.
Something else I thought of late last night? SNOW PUSHING CHARMING AWAY. She did this a couple of times, once as Snow and again as MM.
* Snow wants to keep Charming safe so lies to him about her feelings and walks away, eventually results in using the potion from Rumplestiltskin to forget about him completely even though she does truly love him.
We saw similar behavior in a away from Emma with Graham because she was actively trying to just walk away from the diner and not even talk to Graham at all once the Regina thing came to light – she wanted out of there and to block everything out because it hurt too much to think about – and this was just last year so very much post-Neal, whereas with Neal she does confront him about stuff. She’s angry, she wants answers, she wants closure on what went down. Who is the only other person besides Graham we’ve seen her push away and not want to feel something for but clearly she has a connection to in some way? HOOK
* MM tells David the reason that she changed her coffee time is because “I was trying not to see you.”
This is very much like Emma pushing Graham away and not wanting to talk about any of it because it too painful vs again, the confronting Neal thing and wanting answers – there’s a difference between angry!Emma & emotional!Emma – one wants answers and will do whatever it takes, the other can’t deal with even people she cares about because she needs time to process because it affects her more, a la her reunion with Snowing at the beginning of Season 2 – hmm, which one goes with Hook I wonder…oh wait, that would be emotional!Emma pushing him away…just like Snow…
Both times we know that they’re meant to be together but with Emma not being set in stone, we’re watching her story play out in a different way and in real time. She’s the one character we can do that with and literally see every step of the journey in order (another reason I feel strongly that she’ll end up with Hook and not Neal since their relationships were played out in highlight reels similar to Milah/Hook, Milah/Rumple etc).
Emma’s a great combo of her parents and Snow (as both Snow & MM) trying to push Charming away and keep him at arm’s length parallels nicely with CaptainSwan and I think will more perfectly parallel later on if she ever admits out loud that she’s actually trying not to feel something for him, especially if that results in a kiss right after as it did with MM & David!
Right now the *idea* parallels and the closest we get to what MM/Snow did would be the locking Hook up on the beanstalk but Snow left Charming to King George & Abigail so it’s a little different. Still, it has the *potential* to actually parallel in the future (cause you know Emma won’t just give in to it, especially since the last time she tried to let someone in, the guy died in her arms *sobs* – parallels to Millian = bonding for CS hopefully but still, Emma’s going to fight it & it’s a good opportunity for a Snowing parallel – and hopefully for Snow to realize all of this which will then a) help her come around to the idea of Emma with Hook and b) Mother/Daughter bonding!)

MysteryKat25ParticipantWelcome Polythenepam! Always happy to find new Oncers, especially ones that appreciate Hook & CaptainSwan! 😉 Be sure to check out the CaptainSwan thread found here: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1934&start=1200 – latest page but may want to go back a bit to see what the conversation is currently.
As for everything you said I agree 100%! Colin is amazing and the perfect Captain Hook!

MysteryKat25ParticipantI’ve never thought it strange for a guy to wear a chain / necklace of sentimental value either. My dad wears one all the time so I’ve never thought twice about it either.

MysteryKat25ParticipantLove it, I’m in!
I said when we first officially met Neal that he reminded me of Daniel and I’m hoping to see more interaction between these two at some point because they haven’t gotten a proper introduction.
They’ve suffered many of the same blows and I could very much see them becoming kindred spirits. Neal would be a fairly fresh start for Regina (not as much bad stuff to get over / he’ll understand and blame a lot of it on his dad anyway) and they’d be sweet together. They share a common focus: Henry, and just want someone to love who gets them and to have a happy little family. Both need to be redeemed (on different levels of course, NOT saying that Neal has done as awful of things as Regina has) but they can help each other and seem to have similar goals.
I find it interesting that Daniel told Regina to love again and then the very next episode we’re shown this guy who’s not bad but not in quite the right relationship (yet) but has potential and I think he pairs up better with Regina than he did with Emma (it was sweet, I’m NOT saying I want him out of the way because I ship CaptainSwan – hate shipping someone just to get them out of the way. What I AM saying, is that I genuinely see great potential in FireQueen and while I need more interaction between them for sure, I feel like there’s something good and sweet here and that they would appreciate each other).
They’ve got a lot of similar stories they can bond over and Henry is a good starting point. After all, Regina did raise the son he didn’t know he had.

MysteryKat25ParticipantOh Jane…I take everything she says with a grain of salt (remember when she said “her” was nobody important as far as she knew? lol). She knows a lot but says that she herself learns new things in the writer’s room all the time.
That being said some of this stuff could end up being useful – as long as we don’t take it as 100% fact it’s fine. Some of this stuff (if I’m remembering the interview correctly) came from prodding questions like “could ____ happen” and of course with this show, the answer is almost always “yes.” So some of it may be things they think of using or could potentially happen but aren’t necessarily things she just offered up as actually happening.

I wonder if they will spilt of the group to look for Henry ❓
Part of me wants them to so that we’ll get more 1 on 1 action with any combination of the group cause all of them would be very interesting to see and would force some of them to talk which could be interesting / amusing depending on how they get split up. There are so many pairings that I would like to see have 1 on 1 action so I have no idea which way they’d lean but it would be interesting regardless.
I’m torn though because I kinda want to see how awesome the group will be as a whole too. I think if they do split it somebody with magic would be in each group (to make them all less vulnerable) but I think it would be kinda cool to see them all together and fighting some big battle to rescue Henry which would be great. There are lots of good sword-fighters in the group, people with magic, and so much interpersonal drama that group or smaller groups it should be amazing!!

Score! Tinkerbell and Blue connection all but confirmed! 😀
I know! And it also pretty much confirms that we will be seeing Tink. We knew there were fairies but Tink has never been mentioned on screen.
Yep! All we’ve ever gotten about Tink is the lawn ornament in the pilot but that’s because they could use the Disney picture of her. We haven’t gotten a peep about her as an actual character except in theory so hopefully we’re 1 step closer to seeing her as a reality.

MysteryKat25ParticipantI don’t think they’ll spend too much time there. It’s a portal so it should be fast and then they may go back to it from time to time to regroup / stratagize. I like the idea that Hook will know good places to go (he should, he was there a long time) but I’m not sure if Mermaid Cove will be his first choice (he doesn’t seem too fond of mermaids, nor does it sound like he considers them safe to be around) so we’ll see. I certainly don’t think we’ll get episodes of travelling cause portals are pretty fast.
