Ohhhh I do hope Killian gives Emma sailing lessons at some stage during S3- at this point he’s the only one there who knows how to sail the ship & he needs his rest too after all 😉
Agreed & I would love to see that! Glad you got some ideas for fanvids, I look forward to seeing them!

MysteryKat25ParticipantLOL, I wondered about that part cause I didn’t remember there being anything that would indicate she was helping steer at all – but she did pick a spot that was closest to him 🙂 Other than that it was pretty awesome and I love the pics that were included to help emphasize things.

MysteryKat25ParticipantQuite possibly one of the best write-ups of CaptainSwan I have ever seen (with visuals!):

Oh, Oh, Oh & another thing (why didn’t I think of this before!) We all (at I think it was all of us), thought Hook would give up his vengeance for Emma- well in a way, that is exactly what happened. So those scenes in Rumple’s cell have even greater meaning now- Not only is Hook the only one to come back for Emma, he is the only one who has given up his ‘dark path’ for her as well. I love the parallels of Everyone except Hook leaving Emma- Her parents, Pino/August, Bae/Neal- When she left Hook up the beanstalk because she could trust he was for real, he told her up front & in total honesty, he would NEVER have abandoned her like that- he just had to opportunity to prove those words to be true & he choose to be ‘Killian’, the man Emma could trust rather than just ‘Hook’ the pirate.
Absolutely agreed!
The bean is their symbol 100%. When she was confronting him from the jail cell he was comparing her to the dried bean that was once full of hope and was now nothing – but it was that same bean that he used to get to SB by returning its powers with Lake Nostos. In the finale the bean was HUGELY important, not only to go after Henry of course, but because Hook gave it back to her when he could have just gone off and saved himself and then she gave it to him to get them to Neverland showing massive amounts of trust!
This time when a hand was extended, it was taken and the bean was swapped back and forth. It was very trusting on both their parts and it was beautiful to see! Also the whole idea of the bean that was once dead and gone to Hook like Emma was for betraying him and then he saw the light (well, the lake and then eventually the light) and it became something powerful and important, JUST LIKE EMMA. The beans are a running symbol of what they mean to each other and their willingness to finally start letting themselves trust each other. I loved the exchanges of the beans in this ep!

😆 😆 😆 😆 Looking at the gifs of Snowing, Rumbelle & CS- what stood out…… each couple has one light haired partner & one dark haired 😉
LOL! And I was thinking of the gangplank and I realize he hadn’t moved except to turn around to face Rumple but he was definitely moving in such a way that he was squarely in front of Emma and stayed put rather than letting her deal with Rumple on her own even though they have a much better relationship than Rumple & Hook do. It just seemed very protective at that moment to me (and was nice to see since he kinda let Milah just waltz up to Hook before and stayed out of it, letting her do her own thing and just piping up from the background once in awhile. It cost him. Big time. He’s not repeating his mistakes or taking any chances!)
As to the Charming & Hook stuff absolutely! (He’ll probably bug Charming for a bit and it’ll likely take Snow 1) coming around to the idea of CS and 2) reminding Charming that they were once like that too. Dad’s typically don’t like their little girls to be around any guy, much less one that reminds him of himself when he was younger – although that may not be the case *quite* so much since they’re about the same age which is weird but at least he’s also around Emma’s age too!)
It’s one of the things I’m very much going to enjoy on my rewatch, finding all of the parallels between them. Planning to do an in-depth analysis as to how Snowing, SwanFire and of course CaptainSwan have been treated thus far. I’m still waiting for Killian to be shown to give us the last *major* piece of the puzzle (partially holding out hope that he was a farm boy – you know, when he was really little before he and his dad set off for adventure on the high seas cause that would pretty much cement it with Charming being a shepherd and all – plus Colin even tweeted that Hook was a little like the dread pirate roberts + alice cooper (I’m assuming the guyliner lol). I want my farm boy! And an “As you wish” would be nice too!
Wow about Snowing’s castle I totally forgot about that! It is kinda off to the side and near water. Best of both worlds for sure and they can have it all! I don’t see Hook giving up his ship but I also don’t see Emma and Henry packing up and going anywhere with him and leaving everyone else behind too except for maybe an occasional little adventure. At least this way the ship would be out back and they could go spend time on it whenever they wanted and not be too far away from the rest of the family. Love it!

That sounds like an awesome project if you ever get it done enough. (it’ll never be done, I think…)
With the way this show is setup, we could be finding hidden meaning behind stuff for years! (You could probably get lost just in Gold’s Pawn Shop honestly, so many little things to find)
One of the reasons I love the forums and now tumblr etc is because everybody notices different things and I just got so overwhelmed trying to catalog all of it that I gave it up for a time. I was super excited earlier because people were pointing out things in Emma’s nursery and while I remember doing screenshots and studying it, I never noticed the two pedestals in her room, one that had a knight’s armor and the other a pirate hat. I was too busy noticing the unicorn mobile and the tiger doll (and the hidden mickeys which are fun to find as well).
This is the kind of show you can watch over and over again and see with new eyes every time and I love it! (Fills my Harry Potter void which had the same affect every reread).
I may try and get back to the project at some point, it’s just a matter of being able to keep up with it / organize it in a way that doesn’t drive me crazy! I do love studying random scenes though. Book titles are always fun, props etc (the prop department rocks!). I remember freaking out rewatching 1×04 after 1×05 because the creepy puppet parents were already in the shop!
I can sit here and theorize all day (and have lots of fun discussing things with everyone) but I haven’t tried to catalog it all in any form where I’d be able to look it back over and have it be in an orderly way. Hats off to anyone who is able to keep up with everything as it’s changing week-to-week!

MysteryKat25ParticipantThis is gonna be tough! But awesome idea!
BEST EPISODE: And Straight On Til Morning
Explanation Lots of emotion, we finally got Hook backstory and there was something for pretty much every character/ship fandom out of the main ones so a little something for everyone. It also had a nice balance for the ensemble of the cast as well as getting the character-centric arc in which doesn’t always happen. There was a lot of suspense as well as lighter, sweeter moments / callbacks (ie: Grumpy & Belle’s friendship, Chip, etc etc) which were great. Gave us some answers, left us with some questions to ponder and kept us wanting more. Absolutely wonderful episode! So many feelings for so many characters / pairings. *still recovering*Best Runner Up: Tallahassee (with Manhattan being a close 3rd)
Explanation The episode that launched a thousand ships (OK, technically just two). Regardless of which side of this triangle you fall on, CaptainSwan & SwanThief turned SwanFire fans can agree that this episode was pretty good. It gave us some much-needed Emma backstory, revealed the identity of Henry’s dad (to a degree) and also setup some new stuff as well. I enjoyed Anton a lot (he’s such a sweet guy it’s hard to hate him!) and love the parallels of the past to the present regarding Emma, since she’s one of the only characters who we don’t know her canon True Love yet. I loved getting to see her on a mini-adventure and her interactions with Hook were great! (Especially after seeing And Straight On Til Morning *so many CaptainSwan feelings*) I love that we got to see Emma at her most vulnerable in the past (still have some questions but it was a good story to share to get it started) and seeing who she became and in what ways her past with Neal affected her judgement and whether she could trust someone even when her radar (which is *usually* pretty good) was telling her to and she couldn’t take the chance she was wrong. It was heartbreaking but still encouraging because you could see she wanted her walls to come down and was too afraid of getting hurt again. I usually only like the episodes that have something exciting with FTL to work with, but it started my CaptainSwan ship and at least they were in FTL in some capacity and on an adventure, even if it was in present day.WORST EPISODE: Selfless, Brave, and True
Explanation Remind me not to ask for characters I haven’t seen in awhile to come back. I was looking forward to finding out August’s story but there was way too much randomness, weirdness, and far too much Tamara in it. I like August, I loved his storyline last year, but this episode fell very flat for me. Maybe it was because there were 2 episodes in a row (around a LOT of breaks) that didn’t have any FTL stuff to work with, but this episode fell very flat for me.Worst Runner Up: Welcome to Storybrooke
ExplanationI wanted to like this episode. I really did. It had Sheriff Graham back! And we were getting to see the beginnings of Storybrooke! But it just…I don’t even know how to describe it. Kurt seemed sweet and Owen was alright and the catalyst for Regina wanting Henry etc etc but I just didn’t feel overly attached to them (especially seeing who Owen became…) It wasn’t as exciting as some of the other backstory we’ve seen and while it was important to the present / future, it just kinda dragged for me more than I thought it would. Again it was one I was looking forward to but it fell kinda flat for me, especially with everything else we’ve seen so far. I guess I just don’t love episodes that don’t have exciting flashbacks (basically FTL flashbacks with the exception of Tallahassee – see above). I guess it was just SB-overload and involved a character I didn’t really care about all that much.Keeper of Hook's Trenchcoat.

This finale was completely 100% foreshadowing of CS in S3 and IMO like in the finale of last season with Snowing, cemented them as true love.
Yes true they didn’t kiss but they might as well have because CS have come full circle.
They were never going to get anything overtly romantic yet, they were not ready. What they needed to do in order to get to that level, they did indeed do.
Hook chose Emma, which NEEDED to happen in order for this ship to sail. He chose her over completing his revenge. He took her up on her offer. He can be a part of her family and like with Bae and Milah, I am very positive he will be incredibly protective of Henry and Emma. Nobody can say Killian is not good father material, and if they do they’re living in a pit of massive denial. True Bae’s memory of what happened was substancial to him returning but it was Emma’s offer, Emma’s words that made him turn around as well. She is his something to care for now, he basically said as much when he returned and told her that he basically needed a reminder that he could be the hero he always was.
Emma trusts Hook now. She gave him the bean which is going to lead her to her most prize possession. She has placed her faith and her family in his hands. She is also shocked that someone actually chose her for the first time in their lives over doing what needed to be done in their mind. He came back to her. That has never happened before. I think you saw that when she looked to the horizon with a surprised look on her face and then when he gave her the bean.
This season finale was to put it in a way magical for CS and everything that in order to have a successful romantic relationship later on, happened. These two are set and now all we need now is time and this is going to be an epic love story.
Could not agree more!
I think I mentioned in my earlier…mini-novel (:S I’m trying to be a writer but I didn’t realize I had *quite* that much to say on the subject til I had to scroll so far down, sorry!) but I loved that for once we didn’t really have sassy, flirty Hook which tells me that it was all completely real. There was no facade. His walls were just down and we saw more emotion than we’ve ever seen which was great!
People keep saying that he flirts with anyone / everyone / is a cocky pirate etc. and he was none of those things where it mattered in this episode and I think / hope that people saw that. Big time. Whether they wanted to or not.
Parallels are super important in this show as are callbacks and after my initial freakout with all the feelings last night and going back to rewatch and really take note of everything that happened there are way more in that ep than I could possibly have dreamed of!
You’re absolutely right, Emma put all of her trust in him and he came back for her when he didn’t have to (and nobody else ever has!). She’s always had to go and find people: her parents because of Henry & his curse beliefs, Neal because she owed Rumple a favor…she never had to track down Hook, he came back for HER.
I am thoroughly going to enjoy going back through and rewatching everything we have so far and paying super close attention to everything Snowing, SwanFire, and of course CaptainSwan. I really believe that they’re paralleling everything to show us WHY CaptainSwan is perfect and needs to happen.
I was more timid and afraid of going down that route last night because with this show you never know and they left it in such a way this season that basically any shipper of anything has reason to have massive feelings right now and mostly of hope.
And then I was reminded of the way they shot stuff. The meaning behind it. I noticed it watching Tallahassee when Hook says something to the effect of what you want/need is right in front of you AND THEN WALKS IN FRONT OF HER WITH HER WATCHING HIM. And then there’s all of the meaningful looks of Snow and now of Charming closely watching her interaction with Hook. They never do that with Neal. Ever. The closest they’ve gotten is Charming nodding when Neal says he’s Henry’s dad, and Charming making sure that Emma is ok when he realizes that Emma was left in a room alone with Neal (when she’s drawing with the invisible chalk). That’s it. (I’m so with JMO – why isn’t DaddyCharming punching Neal for sending his daughter to jail, causing his grandson to be raised by the Evil Queen?? Yet he punched Hook – though admittedly that was payback. Also, Hook can take a punch cause he’s awesome like that and then launch himself into helping to save everybody cause he’s there to help now, bicker later <3.)
Charming tried to steal the bean from Hook the moment Hook saved his life and kept him from going after the people with guns. Charming punched him before their mission began, but Hook still came back to save Emma’s family, no matter the cost, and without even saying anything about Rumple once again being on board his ship.
Sure he glared but he’s not gonna be best friends with Rumple right now! Also, did anybody notice that Hook did for Emma what he didn’t do for Milah? He got in front of Emma when they were talking to Rumple. With Milah he was prepared to die before she showed up announcing she was alive to Rumple and after that he kinda let her run things and she ended up getting her heart crushed and dying in his arms. With Emma, the moment Rumple started walking toward them he got VERY protective and went to stand in front of her. Our Hook has learned a thing or two!
I cannot wait for him to bond with Henry! I know he’s going to save him, and Henry is going to have to get used to having Hook in his life and he might want to hate him for awhile (especially if he pulls a Bae and feels like Hook is going to ruin his life and rip apart his family…grr) but eventually Henry won’t be able to help himself cause Hook is cool and he’s not the bad guy people think he is.
Honestly I think Henry, if he can take his SwanFire goggles off, will see the goodness in Hook. If he can keep hoping for it in Regina (and getting it now since he saw her trying to protect everyone) then he can find it in Hook too…and he’s gonna like learning how to be a pirate. He’ll be the best of all worlds given everyone who loves him and he’ll have at least 3 people to learn to swordfight from (Charming, Neal, and now Hook) as well as archery lessons from Snow and horseback riding from Charming. Not to mention all the magical people in his life. He’s gonna be a force to be reckoned with!
I totally agree that Hook will be great with kids. Look at how adorable he was with Bae originally, managing to put aside his hatred for Rumple at the time just to have Bae in his life.
I’ve listened to various podcasts and one in particular is always talking about editing and foreshadowing etc etc (even though they also seem to think the foreshadowing isn’t so good for Hook right now, waiting to hear for this ep if things have changed much..) so I feel like I’m more in tune with studying the details and I can be super objective when needbe which is why I’ve been cautiously optimistic until now. That said, I reallllly studied last night’s ep and I feel like they ARE sending us down the path that I want them to send us down. That’s with my CaptainSwan goggles off and really studying the dialogue and the set up of the scenes etc.
I think you’d have to have blinders on not to at least say “ok, I see that maybe the CaptainSwan people have a point but I’m not sold yet.” You don’t have to be sold right now. We’re looking at the details way closer I’m sure. I feel like I’ve been fair in looking at the Snowing parallels to SwanFire too, but I don’t see the setup the same way that I do *technically speaking still* for CaptainSwan. I do not feel that CSers are “delusional” when they keep writing it in such a way to give us hope that there IS something big for us coming up and we have things to back us up on that.
I get why people may not want to see it or choose to ship something else and that’s fine. But it is there.
Also I will leave you with this last goodie that I found on tumblr (I’m seriously addicted now guys, so many wonderful gifsets that are just gorgeous and finally found a bigger group of CaptainSwan people that are backing us up, even when others are trying to knock us down – but I still love our little group in this thread!) *passes out cookies*
At the end of the episode there are 3 shots that they use to highlight the couples shown at the end of the episode right before they board the ship (rearranged for dramatic effect):
1) RumBelle – canon couple
2) Snowing – canon couple
3) CAPTAINSWANThe tumblr post can be found here: http://xgiuls.tumblr.com/post/50355664329/lets-stop-for-a-moment-and-appreciate-that-these#

MysteryKat25ParticipantI think the key here, since FTL time & SB time seem to jive since we’ve seen events happen close to each other thanks to the MAP storyline, is that if you look at the date Bae was born (which we don’t actually know but go with me on this) and the date it is today, he would, in Emma’s eyes, be a couple hundred years old. That’s the way I took his quote. He’s basically saying that to her he should be a couple hundred years old instead of whatever he is now because of the date he was born, regardless of how NL time works or how much time he spent there.

MysteryKat25ParticipantI started trying to put together a website for all the images of stuff and cross-reference everything with links and have each:
Episode
Character
Timelines (AHHHH); categorized by land, present day, past, and then cross-referenced with each individual character and pairing
Places
Houses
Shops (especially Mr. Gold’s)
Cars
Questions raised but not yet answered
Jewelry
Clothes
Food
Magic
Relationships
Weddings
Important Quotes
Parallels
Songs (non-soundtrack) that were used in the showand I’m sure there’s a few things I’m missing (I was very ambitious when I thought of this over the winter hiatus, then I got bogged down on other stuff so never got back to it. I did however get lots of screenshots which was nice).
So many things cross-reference it becomes a logistical nightmare!
I’m amazed you have such a detailed timeline but I love it! I never can seem to pare things down to the bare necessities. I always write more than I should when really one line explains it all but with a show like this…everything is so important! Like you said, something seemingly insignificant sometimes comes back in a big way (which makes rewatches really fun and then they go and blow your mind).
Just know that you are not alone but are surrounded by Oncers who are equally obsessed whether we get it down on spreadsheets or not, but we appreciate the effort you go to in trying to keep all of this mess in a somewhat orderly fashion.
Psst: there is no good way to do it. Whatever works for you is best! 🙂
