I had completely forgotten about that particular cutscene KFChimera! Wasn't it of August arriving at Jefferson's house on his motorcycle and he was supposedly who took MM back to the jail cell so fast? Wonder why all of it was cut – time or storyline they wanted elsewhere? I think there was another one of Archie & David spending time at the Rabbit Hole spying on Girls Night back in Skin Deep too which explains how he managed to be right outside to give MM the wrong card. I was really sad that both of those scenes got cut, I bet they would have been really interesting, especially the August stuff. It would have helped explain why Emma was so trusting of him soon after that too.
Most cut scenes are perfectly capable of coming back into play at some point (especially if they don’t show up on a DVD at some point) but most are probably just gone and then we’ll have to wait and see how things play out and hear about it years from now when things are said and done.
I mentioned this somewhere on the forum the other day but on Lost Michael Emerson was supposed to do a 3 episode mini-arc and then be done – they loved him so much that they restructured what they were doing and made him a hugely important person later on. Same goes for N/P (Nikki & Paulo) who they they they needed and they were so hated in their first couple of eps that they got rid of them MUCH faster than they had originally intended. So sometimes things they see / feel on set change things vastly and not everything ends up where they originally planned for it to go. If I’m not mistaken they originally planned on killing off Charming at the end of the pilot which means a TON of storylines would have been majorly different.
It doesn’t surprise me there was stuff cut out of Tallahassee – I think we’ll definitely see some of those gaps filled in later on if it’s relevant to present-day but that ep was jampacked with stuff so I’m not really surprised by this.
We still need to see stuff on screen but I have a feeling that when Neal gets back he and Emma will have to eventually talk about stuff and she’ll give one of her “I’ve spent _____ believing that this is what happened” speeches (think back to her being reunited with Snow & Charming). It takes her a long time to get over stuff and being left in jail is too big of a thing to just gloss over so we should find out exactly how she was found before. I have a feeling it was August cause the guy said something about the guy giving her up and if we’re supposed to believe it wasn’t Neal then it has to be August.

MysteryKat25ParticipantAgreed thanks for posting! Happy to see Phillip walking around (I knew they could save him whether we learn how for awhile or not!)

MysteryKat25ParticipantInteresting news I hadn’t heard that! That makes what..10 now? I know they wanted Giselle from Enchanted but they didn’t because then they’d have rights issues with Amy Adams since she’s not an animated character lol.
I’m going to keep looking into the vid thing over time and see. I need to figure out how exactly to get all the necessary videos into the right place etc. I still need to get the necessary movies and episodes into it etc etc. Not sure what I’m going to do for sound, I’m not good with getting the voice clips so will either use the snippets of scenes or do something else with it, haven’t decided yet. I’m definitely interested in learning it someday though!
With so many feelings from Tangled and Princess Bride popping to mind for CaptainSwan stuff it’s pretty hard to resist. Hoping we’ll get some really great stuff in tomorrow’s ep! Less than 24 hours, less than 24 hours, less than *hyperventilates*
Think I’m good now..for the moment lol. Finale is tomorrow ahhhhhhh!

MysteryKat25ParticipantSadly there is lots of probably great stuff that gets left on the cutting room floor for most eps (thanks commercials for being SO long…). I think for Skin Deep they were 12 or 18 minutes over, I can’t remember. They don’t typically tell us what was cut because a) it can be used later and b) if it’s not shown on screen it’s not canon.
Things can change at any point in time and since in the future they’ll go off of what was actually shown (typically), whatever was cut could change completely and have the actors still remember having filmed that and not know for sure if it was ever in the show so then they think something has happened that is vastly different from what we’re lead to believe. I’m sure it causes lots of confusion when people are screaming that Neal set Emma up or such and such didn’t happen or whatever it is that day.
If you recall at PaleyFest there was a debate over whether or not Hook's tattoo of Milah was shown and between all of them they just couldn’t remember. (It was, I was excited about it being shown even though I hate tattoos but they went around and around because they remembered filming it and wanted to reference it in an answer and then confused themselves as to whether it ended up in the final cut which…is where things count).
I agree sanasus, he does seem like an awesome guy. Very down to earth but dedicated to his craft for sure.

MysteryKat25ParticipantMan that title scared me until I reminded myself that we do in fact have season 3 to look forward to!
Can’t wait for the ep but will be sad in about 24 hours (after I pick my jaw up off the floor I’m sure).
Nothing too special for the finale, it’s gonna be a VERY busy night (why must so many finales be on all at once?!?) but of course I am prioritizing OUAT.
If you’re looking for OUAT-related foods and trying to come up with something, please be sure to check (and help update) the OUAT cookbook (thread is in sig). I didn’t start piecing the list together until this year and I haven’t always remembered to add to it right when something is on screen so PLEASE feel free to help me add things!
As for summer…I will probably spend a good portion of it catching up on Classic Doctor Who to be ready for the 50th anniversary in the fall. I have a whole list of shows I need to catch up on from this year that I have been bad about but that’s probably the main focus as I will be spending at least part of the summer doing various writing challenges to try to get something sent out this year. (Gonna devote a little to fanfiction though maybe for OUAT, just to keep myself sane).
And of course there’s always rewatching all of OUAT to pick up on things we’ve missed/forgotten about. I started doing that a little bit for season 2 and wow! Definitely lots of stuff I remember us debating and then it hasn’t been brought back up so there’s lots of things we may find with fresh eyes, especially now that we know more. 🙂
Looking forward to hearing of any Oncer parties that are happening!

“faith, trust, and pixie dust.” Sounds like an awesome episode title to me – S03E01 maybe 😉
Ooo good idea!
Just finished watching Tangled (so many CaptainSwan feelings!) and maybe after Doctor Who is over I’ll tackle the Princess Bride.
Over the summer sometime I’d like to figure out how to make fanvids and I’d love to use both of these movies for CS comparisons at some point. I absolutely LOVE the Tangled trailer voiceover with CaptainSwan clips.
No idea how to make anything of the sort though and all I can use right now would be Windows Movie Maker but I’m very tempted to try.
*Fingers crossed we get LOTS of good material to use in the finale to hold us over the summer with very obvious potential of gathering more in season 3!*

MysteryKat25ParticipantApparently Raphael Sbarge just got cast in a show as well (TNT’s “Murder In the First”). Hope we can still get Archie/Jiminy when we need him in the future but happy for the actor. Same goes for all the other actors we already know have new shows coming out.
So excited we have season 3 and look forward to focusing on the core cast for a bit (that includes Hook & Neal) and can’t wait to see where they go with it!

MysteryKat25ParticipantGreat interview, thanks for sharing!
The only thing I wasn’t sure about is something I’ve debated myself before: the only people Neal knows in SB (other than Emma and Henry of course) are Rumple and the Blue Fairy right? He was long gone before most of the others arrived so it is mostly a town of strangers but ones that he has a common bond with having come from the EF.
I like the line of thinking and the idea that these aren’t nameless / faceless people but I’m not sure that he “knows” many of them before. I think he has to play catch-up with Henry’s book to get a sense of who anybody is (think he did this is Selfless, Brave, and True).
As for the rest it was great! He seems very personable and warm / funny and very in touch with his character. I completely agree that his main thing is about family and a sense of belonging somewhere.
I noticed that last night too in an interview with Lana where she was talking about Regina’s motivations and wanting family, a real family, cause her mom wasn’t the best etc etc and that’s why she latches on so tight to Henry.
If Regina can turn things around and NealFire gets back, they can both be part of this big twisted family who insists on rescuing even the members they hate (like Charming calling Regina family and letting Greg go so he could help Snow get Regina help etc etc).
Minor side note – *whispers* Seeing them both say their characters main motivations are family just reminds me how I originally thought Neal reminds me of Daniel and that if Regina could pull it together, she and Neal could be good together down the line. She has a lot of work to do and he has other issues as well, but he hates magic, she needs to get off magic, and they both love Henry and just want a nice, stable life with no more abandonment. (*In all fairness I have a backup ship for Hook, possibly, depending on the age of girl cast as Ariel someday. I just think this is a plausible backup potential ship for NealFire* – doesn’t hurt to have backups to keep you sane should something bad happen to your ship, regardless of what it is and I certainly have them for mine*)

MysteryKat25ParticipantSide note relating to Tallahassee I forgot to mention –
That awkward moment when you’re listening to Anton’s story and feeling so bad for what he’s been through…and then realizing that Emma’s uncle was part of the cause of his pain.
Side note to the side note – I never think of him that way! He’s always been Charming’s evil twin to me but Emma’s heart-to-heart with Anton made me think of it now that we know about James & Jack. It was technically her family that did all of that, and she chose goodness like her dad instead of her uncle.
Hook & Emma are also a nice …anti-parallel? (what’s the term I’m looking for?) to James & Jack. James left Jack there to die and didn’t seem to care much. Emma was clearly torn and upset in having to leave Hook there (and EVERY time he got trapped, in danger, etc she called out his name in sheer panic or pulled him super close to her to save him). Hook thought she was going to leave him to die (much like Jack and James…) but Emma made a point of saying he wouldn’t and made a deal with Anton to keep him safe.
She locked him up because she could’t trust herself to be wrong, but she still made sure he was safe. I really hope he addresses that at some point. With how intuitive he was on the beanstalk I want him to have read *something* into what she said and put two and two together once he finds out that the guy who wrecked her was NealFire.
He didn’t get a chance to chase after her the way he wanted to because of Cora who is not an issue anymore. Bring on serious discussions and TRUST between these two. (I need to look back over Hook’s quotes but he does mention trust a lot.)
I was reminded of this when watching Peter Pan the other night and reading some of the Killipan theories that Hook was once Peter and then left and grew up and returned – which does explain how Hook knew where to go to get enough time to plot revenge but it doesn’t explain all the clues that connect Neal to Peter so I’m not sure yet, but one thing I did notice was that Peter says in order to fly it just takes “faith, trust, and pixie dust.” The trust part stuck out to me because Hook so often asks for it. I can’t remember if he ever mentions having a little faith (I feel like there’s something…) and we haven’t seen pixie dust yet but there was at least a little speculation based on the picture of Bae on the ceiling – it doesn't look like he's holding himself up so the thought is that somebody, maybe Hook, is using pixie dust on him to keep him on the ceiling to hide him.

MysteryKat25ParticipantSo many things here!
* Super happy Hook is being woven in more
* Colin seems over the moon about the finale so that gives me hope
* Clothing – Yep, it's the red that he used to wear but I love what he wears now too so I'll take it even if he doesn't get to change often lol (I do love that jacket…hence getting it from the keeper thread & was psyched to hear how much Colin loves it too – what's not to love??). H&K kinda laughed off the clothing stuff and said that sometimes people just need a change in wardrobe….but Emma started off in red and is now in black, JUST. LIKE. HOOK. They even match for the finale from what I've seen so far.
* The scarf. So many feelings but was so happy to see it again so hopefully it’ll get mentioned or shown again at some point. That scarf has history! (Really he should be wearing it at some point in the past so it’s available to be taken off and given to Emma to bandage her wounds but the scarf is an important prop! It’s our chipped cup…
* I could totally see them with Spuffy CaptainSwan which worries me cause I liked Spuffy til it was just so much using Spike and then it went downhill for me, and Ross and Rachel SwanFire ugh, sooooo long and drawn out. It needs to be a slow burn but not with an on off burner that takes 10 years either (though if we get the show that long because of it I could deal…I guess). There were a few more notes I was gonna make during the rewatch but I was so focused / so shocked by some of the setup stuff (now that I’m more prone to noticing these things…) like with the wanting what’s right in front of you and then seeing him walk right in front of her. I’ll take better notes next time I watch.
I should also watch Princess Bride with all these Hook feels. Seriously if you watch Crocodile & Tallahassee with Westley in mind (in his Dread Pirate Roberts days of course) it’s there, it’s just…it’s there. (Do I think Hook is a bit more evil than Westley of course, but we don’t know to what extent he was really piratey – could have been all talk but charmed his way through goodness knows what, who knows).
That being said…the giant’s lair is the closest equivalent of CaptainSwan’s Fire Swamp..at least so far, but at least now I remember where I got the Princess Bride vibe in the first place!
He’s not all Westley and not all Captain Jack and there’s some classic Hook thrown in and I’m sure a myriad of other things but it is a part of it. His voice even sounds a bit like it in those 2 episodes especially!
