The only thing that brings into question is Ashley: cause if time was frozen then she was just pregnant forever…if time was playing for a year and then starting over…she gave birth and cared for a newborn 28 times…and that’s gotta suck. On the bright side in that version she may not have had a deal with Gold cause he didn’t know he was Rumple until Emma came to town so he *may* have made that deal sometime between 1×01 & 1×04 just in order to get a favor from Emma, banking on what she would do.
I still like the time is essentially frozen thing and everybody with their “I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember” haze but I’m really not sure anymore!
Clearly once Henry gets there things get weird but supposedly he was affected by it as well (which doesn't make sense, but the rest of the wording of Adam's tweet was basically that it affected him, his perception was clouded for the 10 years until he got the book and then things became clear to him – so not sure he was “affected” in the way that the others were or not, just that his perception was very clouded based on how people around him were – sadly I don't think we'll get to that in this ep 🙁 I wanna know how Henry got there! On the bright side, this ep should set up what SB was like originally so we get a payoff when he does get there so we can compare and figure more of this stuff out.

MysteryKat25ParticipantIf that’s the case I’m curious as to how this is Regina’s “happy ending” since I would think having the same conversation with people day in and day out (or similar ones at least, things may not be exactly the same) would get old rather fast (and she didn’t even have Henry with her til years later!)

MysteryKat25ParticipantGlad somebody is catching those Tron references because I certainly wouldn’t. I get a lot of the other ones from stuff they love or have worked on but I’m not at all familiar with that world. Glad there’s more logical connections though…even if they do overlap with misleading ones that are more obvious to the rest of us.

MysteryKat25ParticipantHmm, thanks. Wonder why they kept that one under wraps but I guess some of the others they announce just days before to get people excited about it. (Frankly they left the Cassidy Freeman one too late I think – she has a huge following from Smallville, etc). Curious to see who it is though, they better be awesome, and it’s hard to outdo a fox! (Definitely my favorite version so whoever it is needs to be foxy in some way, right??) *wishful thinking rant over*

I don’t think there is going to be any connection to Tangled, I think they are just two very normal people, except that young Owen is going to be Greg.
Thanks RumplesGirl. In re to: have we seen the casting for it? I think I merged the actor news with the possible people to still see this season somehow which isn't like me but I didn't look too far into spoilers around that time so may have just glanced.
I think it’s probably just a Star Wars thing of Ben & Owen…but why they would even think of using “Flynn” for anything not related to Tangled or Errol Flynn in someway is beyond me. Any Errol Flynn reference would be better served for a Robin Hood type character than anything else. Just saying Flynn with Disney makes people think of Tangled so goodness knows how that will be brought in later on.
It’s kinda like the fact that we already had a James so we got Killian for Hook’s first name…how many Flynns can there be? (Granted a) Flynn is a last name here not a first and b) it’s a made-up one at that not the real one but the fact that one of the names here means Eugene is just distracting if it doesn’t connect at all which brings me back to…
I really think they stopped at the Star Wars connection and anything else was a fluke. They probably didn’t look too far into it unless there is a crazy connection somewhere down the line they’re setting up for. They’re usually soooo careful and good with picking out names that I’m kinda surprised there were all these (very obvious) connections to something it probably isn’t. Granted we did have the “Whale” thing and people thought Monstro for over a season but this seems to be leading to two characters and neither one will end up being right.
Looking forward to how this plays out. Definitely need more info on connections for this one.

MysteryKat25ParticipantSome have said that Ben & Owen are just a Star Wars referece (like Emma & Henry being from Wizard of Oz) but I’ve seen many connections to Tangled as well. I think they kinda jumbled up all of their references for this one. For some reason I had it in my head that John Pyper-Ferguson was going to be playing Robin Hood and that would have connections to Errol Flynn would would make sense…but now he’s just an outsider? I am so lost!

MysteryKat25ParticipantHmm, and here I thought people would riot if we didn’t get Eric in there somewhere!
I still firmly believe that Ariel somehow connects to Neverland so they could have some connection and maybe a past but I’d be shocked if we didn’t get Eric in some form or another (he could be similar to Hook…maybe Ariel has a type?).
I love that we’re shipping characters we haven’t even seen yet haha, wonder what they’ll be like once we actually see some interaction!
In the meantime I still vote CaptainSwan but as long Hook gets an awesome relationship I’ll be happy (though I still love the Princess Bride / Tangled parallels we get with CaptainSwan – not to mention Snowing).

I can’t imagine what other connection there is to the name (I couldn’t find much) but it just seems like way too much of a coincidence for this NOT to be the connection.

The Bilingual Fairy Tales version of Rumplestiltskin was adapted by Xavier Carrasco. Very fitting. 🙂

MysteryKat25ParticipantThey’ve already fake-killed Archie twice! That’s two times too many already and it would be cruel to have him “die,” have a funeral, and then kill him off for real, all within the same season. I hope that’s not the case…
