ParticipantThat is a great line from Regina to Tinker Bell! There is another scene in The Queen is Dead where Regina and Mary Margaret are sitting at Granny’s and Regina says to Snow, “Have you ever considered that maybe, perhaps…I am good? I was always the Queen. It was you who added ‘Evil’ to my name.
I don’t think Mary Margaret/Snow will be lost as the ultimate evil. I’m not sure how they will resolve the story, alot would have to do with when it was written and under what circumstances it was written. I’ve wondered if Mary Margaret was locked up in the hospital basement’s cuckoo’s nest or if Snow was imprisoned in a tower. The dark curse not only brought Rumple to a world without magic…something Baelfire desperately wanted…it also brought Snow White to the world without magic. Perhaps getting Snow White to Storybrooke is what will save her and save everyone.
I went back and looked at Snow White’s mother’s funeral. Weird creepy people….I had forgotten how dark they were. Also the dark castle was dark before Regina ever married Leopold.
In the very first episode when Mary Margaret and Emma are talking at school they are walking down the hall and Mary Margaret talks about the struggle of kids and Emma describes Regina as a hard-ass. Mary Margaret replies no, to the comment about Regina..that he is wrestling with the question “Why would anyone give me away?” At that point Mary Margaret stops in the hall and there is a picture behind Mary Margaret and the picture looks a lot like Cora and even a little like Regina’s photo in the locket.
When the curse was first cast and Mary Margaret and Regina bump into each other on the street there is a Peter Pan type figure in the background at the vegetable cart. The figure is there each time. There is also a photo of Mary Margaret and Emma where MM has a Peter Pan collar on. This is the photo Henry is looking at after they were pulled through the hat. In Neverland when Peter lands he doesn’t crow like he does in the book…he yells “Cuckoo, Cuckoo.” A Cuckoo bird lays its egg in another bird’s nest and the egg hatches early and the baby Cuckoo bird will actually push the other unhatched eggs out of the nest. It is amazing to see. Rumple referred to Regina that he knew her long ago when she was “portable”. We also have antlers all over the place including Regina’s vault which could symbolize a cuckold. A cuckold is the husband of an adulterous wife it is also applied to males who are unwittingly investing parental effort in offspring that are not genetically their own. The vault contains the body of Henry who is often credited as The Valet. Regina could have been the offspring of another man and passed off as Henry’s child. We know Cora was going to pass off the evil fake prince, “gardener’s” baby, Zelena as the baby of Leopold. It would be interesting if Princess Eva did the same thing. Sneaky Eva was determined to give Leopold a pure child, “Today your heart aches, your highness, but I promise a more worthy wife will give you the child that you deserve One that will be pure. Pure as snow.” Regina…Snow…who are they really. Who are their biological parents. I think there is an untold story here.
There are so many possibilities I’m not sure which direction to go but I do believe there is a deeper story with Regina and Snow. In Regina Rising which has been released and is official canon, Regina is a teenager and she ends up in Snow’s room. Snow is a spoiled little princess but Regina says that she thinks Snow’s life is similar to hers. When Regina sits on the bed beside Snow she is flooded with emotion and she indicates she doesn’t know if it is maternal or sisterly, but it was so powerful she got up.
I can’t wait to see how this all plays out.
Edited to add: A twitter photo was released today that is supportive of the Cuckold theory. I’m waiting for direction on whether it should be posted here or in the spoilers section.

ParticipantI believe the Title Cards for each episode are one of the keys to unlocking whose perspective we are seeing. The trees are perfectly straight, except if you look through the O in ONCE you will see the tree bend. In Regina Rising, Regina’s painting teacher points out that nothing in nature is perfect and Regina’s trees are perfectly straight. Regina changes them to be more curvy and natural. The list of Title Cards can be found on the ONCE wiki…it is interesting to see which ones have the straight trees and which ones are different.
Mary Margaret wears a key necklace in Season 1 and 2 and the key bears a close resemblance to the key to the story book.
Did she write the story straight up? Did she trade places with someone? I don’t know? But I think this whole thing is about to crack wide open and we will rewatch the series with new eyes.
The fastest way to lose the person you love was to be Snow White’s friend. It is almost as if she wanted those close to her…she wanted them all to herself. Look at the list of those who were close to Snow and who died.
David…his mother
Red…her boyfriend and mother
Emma…Graham, Neal, and more
Regina…Daniel
Snow’s father…his wife
In Regina Rising we learn that Regina’s family lived right near Snow’s family. When Cora got the water to make Zelena and Regina forget knowing each other as children she made the comment there was a part of the water that ran right near their home. This would have put it right near Snow’s home as well.
And endless supply of memory reset for the taking.
Lavender…a color to pay attention to.

November 2, 2016 at 7:47 pm in reply to: Why the Evil Queen wants Snow and Charming's hearts #329704nealfanforever
ParticipantWow! well I was looking for a good reason for why EQ is still after Snows heart. And this theory is certainly different and unique. I certainly wouldnt have ever thought of that… But Im not sure I can ever get onboard to liking it though.. No No really I wouldnt like that
.. It would totally ruin my fave character Regina/EQ… she has to be both. And what would be the meaning of twisting the story into that? Im just asking, cause its interesting how that would work…and I want to understand exactly what you mean..
That is a good question and I understand what you are saying about Regina. She is my absolute favorite character.
Eddie and Adam have said that the story they are writing is about hope and that “Ground Zero” is the relationship with Snow and Regina. Some of my favorite moments have been between Regina and Snow. There was the time Ghost Cora was coming after pregnant Snow and Regina put her arm in front of Snow to protect Snow and she told Cora that if Cora wanted Snow, she would have to go through Regina. The look on Snow’s face to see Regina stepping in and putting her life on the line, well, it was an amazing look. That episode, Bleeding Through, is one of my top favorite episodes because of the relationship between the two.
The twist, that is a good question. We know the story is about redemption, and one of the first things that comes to mind is we have not been watching the story we thought we were watching. Going back to the very beginning, all of Regina’s actions have to be reinterpreted and all of Snow’s as well. We thought it was a story about a woman, Regina, who went through a tragic situation and blamed a little girl for ruining her life and then set out to destroy her happiness. I’ve always had a problem accepting Regina would turn her anger to Snow instead of Cora, but abused kids do that all the time. They protect the abuser. We were slowly shown Regina’s humanity and when we saw light magic and true love’s kiss for Henry it was an amazing moment. Snow, on the other hand, has not been as easy for me to relate to. Her altruism, sitting down to write a note to Regina while the huntsman waits to carve out her heart, it is larger than life. We don’t respond that way.
If this theory proves true, and one of the strongest reasons I think it will is I had the theory before I saw the spoiler that the Evil Queen wanted Snow and Charming’s hearts, if it proves true I believe it will be an exploration into the depths of a narcissistic mind, the manipulation, the envy of everyone else and their happy ending, and the elevation of one’s self at the expense of all others. The darker everyone else can be made to look, the lighter snow whiter the one seeking the role of hero. This kind of evil is all around us in our real world. Perhaps the twist is that true redemption is when we all drop our masks and are real and vulnerable with one another. If the theory is true I think we are going to a type of darkness, perhaps even madness we didn’t see in Regina, not the obvious crazy kook, but the subtle sadistic darkness of a subtle predator. We’ve seen glimpses of it…when Snow was poised to kill Mulan, when Snow forgot Charming and stripped the soldier and bashed in his knee and threatened to skin him. We’ve seen glimpses of this Snow. I think about Snow’s birthday party. She had no regard for Regina sitting alone at the table. Snow glowed in the spotlight of her father’s love, even taking the Queen’s seat next to her father. She seemed comfortable to usurp Regina. There is a cruelty in this. Nothing is worse than being on the outside looking in.
It is not absolutely crucial to the theory but for a long time I have pondered Regina being Snow’s real birth mother. Some time ago I laid it out on this site. The ultimate tragedy would be for Regina to have saved her daughter, taken the evil dark magic into herself, and then lost the memory and the relationship. There was that moment when Emma and Snow first met, and we knew they were daughter and mother but they did not know. If Regina is Snow’s mother, we’ve got five+ seasons of those moments, but we’ve not been in on the secret. But even if it is a step-mother/daughter relationship the pictures still works.
The ultimate twist for me would be Regina finding out she was good all along, and despite how large the darkness became, ultimately she was able to become a hero while the darkness was still in her. She broke a curse with true love’s kiss. She beamed light magic from her hands and when Zelena asked her what she was doing, her response was, “changing”. All of this happening while under the abusive shadow of a great darkness. She found herself despite all that was done to her and if this turns out to be true, she now has the opportunity to grow even more by fighting the battle to help Snow deal with the reality of the truth. Evil isn’t born, it’s made and perhaps that is the ultimate lesson, when we are in pain, our actions can help others to become heroes or villains, and no one is beyond redemption. This twist makes Regina’s story all the more tragic thus her victory all the more triumphant.
Here is an interview with Ginnifer Goodwin back in 2011. It is one of many, many interviews and panel discussions and a myriad other clues that point me to a story behind the story. http://www.backstage.com/interview/ginnifer-goodwin-brings-snow-white-to-life-in-once-upon-a-time/
*We are in the process of moving so I will check back in on the thread when I can. Listening to Once Comic Con panels and interviews has been a fun way to pass the time while packing.

ParticipantDon’t believe this is an official promo/bts photo, but it made somewhat sense to post it here. First look at Hercules and Young Snow together:

<script async=”” src=”//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>The look on her face reminds me of Princess Eva and her cape seems to echo Eva and Cora’s capes in Bleeding Through.

ParticipantIt has taken a long time but we have finally seen the return of Baelfire…at least I hope the writers will confirm it was Baelfire and not someone posing as Baelfire. The only thing that would have made it better for this NealFanForever would have been a sweet kiss.

ParticipantK & H may not be linguists but Jane Espenson is. We’ve known for a long time that Cora can walk the Underworld. That’s enough to keep me looking for connections. I don’t see Demeter though. She was the goddess of grain and her followers were baptized in bovine blood. Cora is known as the Miller’s daughter. That does make for an interesting connection between her and Persephone. Persephone’s mom is Demeter the Goddess of Grain. Cora’s father is the one that crushes grain into flour.
Great premier for second half of season and we ended the episode with Cora right back as the Miller’s daughter. It looks as if that connection with Persephone is a good possibility.

ParticipantOld Disney animations are always kind of creepy and disturbing.
You mean you don’t find this appealing?!
Sort of looks like a mashup of Mr. Spock and Darth Vader.
