I disagree. I think this episode made it clear that Emma does have magic. That is what August said. He needs to get Emma to believe so that he will help him.
He didn’t say he needed her to believe so she could help him herself, he said he was going to get her to believe, which is a key step in her breaking the curse and potentially bringing them back to FTL, which has magic. Nothing actually says Emma herself has any magic at all.

ParticipantI don’t think it was Henry he called either, ignoring the fact that Regina could be the one who answered the phone the way he talked wasn’t at all like how he would talk to Henry. And if he were going to call Henry he probably wouldn’t do it while agitated about something, he’d wait a bit to calm himself down so he’d sound normal.
And I agree with hjbau in that I thought he just meant he was told about it in FTL, not this world. Could have been some other fairy too, not just the blue one, who told him those things.

ParticipantI agree, I don’t think he’s Pinnochio. Both the fact that he looks nothing like him and Pinnochio would have no reason I can see for acting the way he does (not to mention how he could age when the others didn’t, I’ve never liked the idea of him being from magic wood) and also that it’s too obvious if he is. I at least will be highly disappointed if August turns out to be Pinnochio.
And Lampwick is an interesting theory. I have a feeling he’s someone we haven’t even thought of yet, but I like the idea at least.

ParticipantI seriously want to see the Wizard of Oz or the Wicked Witch.
Also Peter Pan, the little mermaid, Rapunzel, princess and the frog characters… I’d also love it if they brought in some less known fairy tales. East of Sun and West of Moon is a favorite of mine ^^nightreader
ParticipantOh, I loooove fan videos >w< Two of my favs that I could find quickly are these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbZIH8L7a1w&feature=youtube_gdata_player&noredirect=1

ParticipantOkay that Peter Pan theory is brilliant.

2) The mines are no longer in use and have been converted to a special place to hold Rumpelstiltskin. So is fairy dust no longer needed?
.Maybe it was only part of the mines that was closed to lock Rumple up. I somehow doubt they could just stop making fairy dust :/

ParticipantI agree with weedith, what Rumple did was to protect his son and any parent would have done it. Sure, some who might be braver than he was would have gone some other way and tried to fight the guards or something but Rumple was obviously not capable of that (not just the coward part but also the leg part, it’s a lot harder to fight with a limp). I also feel like even now Rumple wouldn’t harm children because he knows what it’s like to be a parent and kids remind him too much of his son.
He also didn’t give me any vibe of being cruel or capable of murder before he was cursed, that time he was talking about his wife he just seemed sad that she was gone and like he regretted that he might have had a part in her leaving/dying. If he was hiding anything I think it would be that she really did run away like the guard said.nightreader
ParticipantI really like this theory. Believe is, after all, a very powerful force, in fairy tales and in the real world.
I’m not sure it would be enough though, for just her to believe that is. It would obviously be a big step but somehow I feel like the believe of one person isn’t enough to break a curse that powerful. Maybe if she got more people to believe? I don’t know, but it would definitely be an interesting curse breaker if that would be it ^^nightreader
ParticipantBut Thomas disappearing was because of Rumple though, wasn’t it? I mean, since Ella got him back when her deal with Rumple was honoured (or at least another deal made instead) I figured it was the fact that she hadn’t honoured the deal that caused him to disappear, not the quill thing.
Also, the fairies get their magic from the dust and I think the dust could be considered already paid for with all the work the dwarves put into it. Work is a form of payment after all.
I do agree though that probably all forms of magic in FTL come at some sort of a price, even Regina had to kill her father in order to make the curse work.nightreader
ParticipantMaybe the dwarves just have to work until they reach a certain age and then they’re allowed to do what they want? Since they did have a ridiculous amount of eggs it kind of can’t be that they just hatch them endlessly, there would be too many dwarves :/ I somehow don’t like the idea of the fairies being evil or helping the queen, although the blue fairy definitely didn’t seem to be her usual super good self in this episode.
