ParticipantI think that EQ is ACTIVELY MANIPULATING things in Storybrook; but Mr Gold is affecting thing in a subtle back stage kind of way ; like a puppet master. He sets the charters on the stage and lets things develop. If he does not like how things develop he interferes in the background again.

ParticipantSince I have the privilege to live with a almost 4 YR old grandson…. I consider stories, cartoons, fairy tales … All teachable moments. When I read stories that cause him to worry or might make him a little scared … we stop and discuss it …. SOMETIMES his insights astound me. I observe him while he plays and his imagination and sense of honor when he plays makes me smile.
Yes there are some children that might need to be protected from stories with dark sides to them but if you wait until they are older … they learn to handle the darkness. If you talk to the child and discuss their worries it helps them build an understanding of the world around them…. Kids can handle stories as long as parents/ gdparents/ caretakers take time to explain things to them… TV, cartoons, movies etc are not babysitters …We have to take the time to interact with the child.

Great first post, IndyandMarion!
Maybe the next episode will be of another search party in the woods—this time for Kathryn instead of David. Odd turn of events?Thank you.
Not as odd as it might sound. Remember, Kathryn went in search for David in this reality and also in FTL (To help get the water). So, given how painfully annoying David is being, I’ll be willing to bet that he’ll feel guilty for what happened and lead the group that sets out to find her. Reversing the roles in reality.
Side question: I know FTL stans for Fairy Tale Land, but what are you all using for “our reality”. I might have seen it on the forums, and I just overlooked it.
I think it will be more THE HUSBAND is the suspect / or MM becomes a suspect in the disappearance of Kathryn and it will take almost the whole season to clear up the mystery.

ParticipantBUT this is the same site that sends out RED HERRINGS to get us to check in on new episodes… THEY MAY KNOW but they are very good at NOT spilling the beans or telling the truth to deflate our need to watch and know.

ParticipantOn one of the other podcast, Colleen suggested that the book was being repaired through the magic of the wishing well / lake. TO FIND WHAT IS LOST.
STRANGER is compelled to repair the book so he takes water from the wishing well and pours it over paper / vellum to replace what was LOST.
Maybe pages damaged by them machines or by Regina ( we would have seen a clip/scene of her doing it) or the end of the story which Emma had burned and is now rewritten and placed back in the book by the stranger. We saw him hang the paper to dry. ( This process was liken to old time developing of film) We saw him return papers and rebind the book returning it to a repaired status. Other than the torn out pages that book did not looked damaged, but who is to say it had not been damaged internally.
Stranger than takes Emma to the wishing well to drink water with magic to FIND WHAT IS LOST…. thus setting her up to find the book and maybe try and get Emma to believe in magic. There seems to be some of the age old conflict between the two that have developed in people over time…. those who believe in faith / magic / powers beyond what we can see and those who believe in logic, science and only what can be discovered by our senses.

ParticipantI think he added pages / continue / rewrote some of the pages. He aged the pages then restored it.
1/ Maybe it is job in life to keep the book intact. If the book gets damaged he is compelled to put it to rights.
2/ He knows the book is enchanted and is trying to give it a new ending or his own twist on the stories.STILL mulling this over but I think it will be important in the future.

ParticipantI know very little about GERMANIC styles of clothes but I do think they would assume the current fashions of the time period, especially among royalty. I do think that the writers and costume designers do follow a general time line of European clothing in order to show different times in FTL.
THE first OGRE wars seem to be dating from the Dark Ages about 1200 to 1600s . Europe was a feudal system of serf/ overloads.
Snow/ PC James/ EQ all seem to be of a much later time period similar to the 1700s. Of course there are regional differences as the costumes in Italy were different from France, different from English, different from German etc. ( Germany was not a united region at the time but rather principalities.) Each region had their own particular influences on the costumes; but I do think they reflect styles and fashions in the real world.

ParticipantAt 0300 / 3 am when I am having a viscous bout of insomnia I do not always makes sense.
I did think of DAVID killing Goliath while watching OUaT; but at the time I could not think of other references. I do think I will pay attention to this aspect in the future.
