ParticipantDay 19- Favourite Scene – This is a tough one because there’s so many to choose from now. But I’m going to say the Captain Swan kiss outside of Granny’s in 3×22. The whole thing was just so beautiful, the music, the atmosphere, the intercutting with rumbelle’s vows…Everything was perfect. It still is. The phrasing Adam and Eddy used for Captain Swan was just perfect for them, for what they both went through in regard to their journey with love.

ParticipantI’m shocked it doesn’t have a better name.
Yep. Darkness Is Coming could have been the title…
Definitely a better name.

ParticipantDisjointed is right @rumplesgirl. The whole episode was all over the place. What I’ve liked about Gotham so far is that they continue storylines from past episodes. The Scarecrow arc was really good, the way that carried over.
I’m not sure if Barbara actually has an arc. She’s just kinda there. I think when she came home, prior to that, she had been partying and what was the purpose of introducing her parents and then not even seeing more of their interaction? The writer’s give her these small scenes and it rarely connects to the over all plot.
The kid who is our Joker, he was awesome. That laugh. So very creepy.
I’m not sure what the end game is for this season. I haven’t really thought about it all that much. I don’t think its solving who killed Bruce’s parents. I think that will be dragged out as long as the writer’s possibly can.

This is our recap special. I’m shocked it doesn’t have a better name.

ParticipantI also think there is a horrible precedent here if Agnes is indeed adult Lily. The precedent being, that the casting department does not necessarily have to care if they cast someone who doesn’t match the original actress who portrayed said character.
Imagine for a moment if we heard the news that Mulan was coming back. Yay!
Mulan gets a happily ever after or whatever but instead of bringing back Jamie Chung, like we would all expect, someone else replaces Mulan and the actress is not Asian. (Not Korean, Japanese, Chinese or even Filipino).
Mulan is black or white, stepping into the role. And we remember that she came from an Asian village in Once Upon a Time.
I realize the original character description for Lily did not specify her ethnicity but when we met the character on screen in Breaking Glass, she was 100% Latina. That I can remember. It should be upsetting to everyone that a small role like Lily was ret-conned and turned into someone else so incredibly different than the character she originally portrayed.
The point is, you can’t fool your audience into thinking that this is the same character because she’s not the same character. Just because we only saw Lily in one episode very early this season does not mean that we forget what she looked like. I certainly don’t.

ParticipantJust watched the latest episode of Gotham. God, was it awful! I’m still trying to figure out why Barbara even exists since she doesn’t really add anything to the plot. At all. Gotham’s version of Romeo and Juliet, Graysons vs. Lloyd’s feuding families over a stolen horse that dates back to World War I.
Are you freaking kidding me?
The joker has mommy issues and he went insane because his mother was a whore and she was sleeping with a clown? There’s a joke in there somewhere.
And Fish Mooney is all the sudden a humanitarian, standing up for a bunch of strangers against some weird crime syndicate who snatches up people and harvests their limbs for the ultra rich?
I think the writers can find better use for Selina and Ivy than use them as Barbara’s love experts.

ParticipantI agree with Daniel’s comment on the podcast that the reason why it was a glove was because a finger can point at things. If Belle asked, what is the thing my husband loves the most and it pointed to her — no problem. But the glove pointed to the real dagger.
I hope that’s a deleted scene by the way.

ParticipantThe girl who played young Lily was latina and she got that role on talent not because of her ethnicity. That’s great. However, continuity wise, Lily is now Latina. Therefore adult Lily should be Latina. People don’t just change ethnicity as they grow up.

ParticipantIf Blue turns out to be the author of the book, then the entire ‘finding the author of the book’ is a total bust.
I think that peddlar guy is most likely the author. But the twist might be that he simply records choices that the characters makes and he has no control over the direction of the story. That would be awesome.

ParticipantPerhaps they chose a dark haired and eyed actress who maybe could be paralleled to Regina, but did not necessarily need to be. Lana is only half Latina, her mother being Italia
Nicole Munoz is Latina. Same as Lana Parilla. They chose an actress with a similar look and the Latina heritage to draw the Regina/Lily parallel. It’s the same reason they chose a Latino actor for both Young Henry and Old Henry
