Participant1. If “Heroes and Villians” didn’t really happen because it was “fiction”, then why is the Charmings’ theft of Lily’s egg still part of the story? Isaac made that up, too. Why is that not “fiction”?
In this case it was not fiction, it was real but lack of free will for Charming and Snow, maybe.
2. Can the magic hat pull the darkness out of Regina’s heart? Snow’s? Wouldn’t that be the easy way out? Shouldn’t Rumple have suffered the consequences of his actions?
Perhaps it can only suck out the darkness that is an affliction, like the dark one’s curse, and can’t suck out darkness caused by free will of a character (or even darkness in a character caused by the author’s meddling???). I hope it is something like this. If is not, then they need to show the hat being used to suck out the darkness in everyone!
Rumple did a lot of horrible things, but I think he deserves to have the darkness removed from him and be given a second chance. The only reason why he became the Dark One was to protect his son. It was not out of greed.
3. Henry is the new author. But he broke his pen. It is the pen that lit up when he touched it, just like it did for Isaac. Does this mean that Henry is not going to even record the stories like he’s supposed to? Does that mean there are going to be no more authors? Was the apprentice OK with that
Henry will be the next author, and he will be given a new pen. The apprentice and perhaps Merlin were looking for someone who could demonstrate a complete lack of interest in power, and Henry did that by breaking the pen and refusing the job. When the apprentice saw this, he said that they had found their next author, because they needed someone who was not like Issac; they need someone who would not meddle, only record. Whether Henry still refuses the job after that is another thing.
4. Why did David need to arrest Isaac?
Because he had messed around with people’s free will. And perhaps they need to ask him more questions to find Merlin, to find out how all these worlds work etc.
Though by that logic Regina should be locked up due to her past deeds.
5. Why didn’t Lily get a happy ending in “Heroes and Villains”? It seems like the only two villains to get a happy ending were Rumple and Zelena.
Yes, it was just these two villians who got their happy ending. Rumple was interested in helping anyone else except himself and Zelena because they struck a deal.
The show didn’t make it clear enough that it was a not world where villians get their happy endings, just a world were Rumple and Zelena get their HE, and sod the rest of them, hero or villain. Bad Writing.

Question:
If Merlin is all-powerful, why does he need an author to record the history of all the realms in the first place? Can’t he just get the books to write themselves?

ParticipantSo to sum up:
1) plot hole. again.
2) It was Rumple’s (and possibly Zelena’s) HE, so Rumple needs to be able to kiss Belle as a often as he would like without reality switching back to the original one. The TLK needs to come from someone who is experiencing the negative effects of the curse, or a hero in order for them to break the curse/AU and benefit from it’s switch back to the original.
3) AU was essentially (almost) ”opposite land”. Dark savior’s blood was needed to let the dark people/villains have their happy ending. In the ”opposite land”, the light saviors blood was needed to switch things back to how they were and let the heroes have their happy ending. The blood used on the quill determines who ”wins”, and the type of blood must match the personalities of the characters who are to win.
Does this sound about right?

ParticipantCan’t find a song about plotholes except for one written by some random, probably local band named ”long division.”

ParticipantI have been looking forward to Avalon/Camelot/Merlin/Morgana/Arthur’s appearance since the end of season 2. I hope they really do it justice and follow the original tales more closely than the tacky Disney!version.
I hope that Merlin and Arthur return, and that Arthur is returning because his people need him again (as goes the original tale). I would also like to have Arthur as an adult, and pair him off with either Regina or Emma.
Merlin no doubt will be Lily’s father; though it would make more sense if it was Arthur, seeing has his family name is Pendragon. Meanwhile, Morgana will likely be the black fairy and/or the original dark one, as I predicted several months ago here, and two years ago on a different site.

ParticipantWriting this without looking at other people’s responses.
LIKED:
-Henry and JG’s acting (except for the part when he was tied to the cart…his acting was as wooden as the cart in this scene).
-RH and Regina on the horse together. Ooh! I want more EF scenes like this, preferably from the missing year (and when will we see more of that, anyway?).
Bandit Regina: great acting!
MIXED
-Where the heck was Malificent? We had Lily but not Mal? They have done a whole half season in this AU, and then we would be able to see a wider range of characters and a richer plot.
-Evil Snow was a bit wooden in parts. I liked the colder version of evil, rather than the flamboyant version of evil that LP does for EQ, but still, some of GG’s acting felt a bit off.
DISLIKED
-Regina doesn’t get a Happy Ending no matter what reality she is in, unless the Savior intervenes in our reality.
-I don’t understand why the Alternative Reality ”never happened” just because it was not in the pages of the book….the characters seemed to remember what happened, they have collective memories of the events, therefore these events did happen, just were not recorded??!! I understand that they wanted to kill off Hook and then bring him back to life to get Emma to face her feelings for him right before she sacrifices hereself, but surely there must be another way to do this without creating plot holes?
-All of the points at which the author intervened and changed things were not addressed. Are we to assume that he only influenced Charming and Snow, and that Regina’s actions as the EQ were entirely her free will?

ParticipantWhat I find rather interesting about this switch, is that evil! Snow has magic. They didn’t need to give evil! Magic for the switch to be complete/logical. They just needed to make her evil for the same reasons as Regina was. Does this mean that Snow has inherent magic? It might explain Emma and her brother a bit more.
I have always wondered if Snow would be able to do magic if taught.

All the Cora and Regina scenes
I am glad we got an explanation for a lack of a child post Leopold’s death. Now we need one for while he was alive. Are we to assume that he visited Regina on the night of their wedding to consummate their marriage and that was it? Maybe it was.
Points lost for:
-Robin walking in on Regina changing her mind about doing something to Zelena. Robin wouldn’t know exactly what happened, but with the author there and his pen poised, I think it is pretty obvious what her intentions were, and Robin should have grilled Regina about what she was about to do, not snog her.
-Regina on the rampage in general. She has come too far for that, surely?
8/10 so far.

Participant#2 Wow Regina. Wow. “Book the church” Erm. That’s a problematic statement if ever there was one. CORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (excited for her)
Yep. Looks like Christianity. a religion from our world, has made its way to FTL.
zomg, what if this is when Cora took Henry Sr. to Wonderland? *bounces with timeline happiness/dread* I’d love it if they connected that little dot for us.
Yes, I suggested this a week ago on the thread with the promo on it.

ParticipantHow much more ridiculous can the OQ story line be?
Let’s make more silly.
How about magically remove the baby from Zelena, and stick it in Regina, and Zelena can sit in the asylum under the hospital forrrrrrevvvverrrrr!
In fact, if the storyline does not get altered so that SW and Regina swap positions (for example) and Regina gets to be with Robin in this way, then lets say that this surrogate mother idea is my pet theory!
