Please note there’s a magical mushroom on the mantle beneath the mirror Rapunzel shatters. Why?

Where are the other actresses and actors from … Any TV or Movie characters? I do not recognize to many of them… thinking on cable. . . .

    Quote

Drusilla is played by Adelaide Kane, who led the CW’s ensemble cast in the show Reign as Mary Queen of Scots for the past four years until the show was cancelled a season or two before it should have been. She’s worth watching and, mostly because of the actress, I’m curious about her character. I get the feeling she is also under her mother’s curse?

My favorite thing in this episode was getting a chance to enjoy yet another expression of Lana Parilla’s incredible vocal acting. That wasn’t our Regina’s voice coming out of Roni, not quite. It’s been slightly shifted (More weathered? Aged up?) Far more subtle than her Young Regina voice, but color me impressed.

Speaking of the serum, we never did see the serum stabbed through Hyde:  He switched it.  So we don’t know that using the serum to stab the Evil Queen wouldn’t work.  As much of that serum as has fallen to the ground you’d think someone powerful enough could extract it from one of the places it has dripped, remove the dust, and multiply the serum.  I mean, they got Maleficent back from ashes.

But I agree destroying the Evil Queen wouldn’t make a very good story arc.  she needs to reintegrate with Regina.

Also, wasn’t Snow’s original class about fifth grade level?  Newton’s Third Law seems rather advanced for that group, particularly when you ask a bunch of kids who haven’t been in school for five years to solve equations their first day back.  Are we assuming they’ve all been home-schooled in the interim during memory-loss curses and stints living in hovels in the Enchanted Forest?  Did they just give her Henry’s class back?

Glad I made you laugh, RumplesGirl 🙂

    Favorite moments:

I kind of liked seeing Doctor Lydgate again, as I still believe he was an oblique reference to Humpty Dumpty in Wonderland and was sort of rooting for him to fall off a wall/out a window by the end of the episode.  His daughter did instead, and all the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put Mary together again…

    Regina’s line about Belle.

Killian to the rescue.  Is this the first time the A-list heroes have ever done a solitary thing to help her?

Hyde’s turn as the sympathetic character.  Pity he died just as he became two-dimensional.  I love Sam Witwer’s voice, but the character felt so promising but underdeveloped till this ep.

Pretty solid writing this ep.  A well-told story.

    Worst moments:

Rumple being stupid enough to let go of the dagger.  Learn how to dark one, Dark One!

Belle’s assertion to Rumple that the good guys would protect her, because they NEVER have until this episode.

I cannot believe this didn’t occur to me. I’m a big fan of Hank, and while the name is maybe only mentioned once in the novel, I certainly knew it. The Sir Morgan we saw doesn’t bring the character to mind at all, but even so I was so happy to learn that Violet is Hello Central 🙂 What neat tie-up. And here I was speculating she was Morgan Le Fay and it didn’t matter that her dad went through the portal because she’d probably conjured him. Well-played, writers. (Wonder what happened to poor Sandy? 🙁 )

I believe the full title is “Nothing Gold Can Stay”.  Line from a poem.  Hmm…

Wow…now THAT is an interesting theory Tiara.  If he alters Henry and Belle’s memories that significantly, so they could all be one happy family in New York (Oh look, Henry gets a third mom.  And dads…third dad? Nah, Hook doesn’t count…well…sorta…dad…figure…ish.).  Of course, his next move will have to be perpetually keeping them young, a power he sort of had in the EF (the ability to rewind Smee).  He could make them a year younger every birthday or something, but eventually they’re gonna start wondering what’s going on, just like Henry did in Storybrook.

    *is INTRIGUED*

    I could see this.

The 25th anniversary performance of Phantom was already recorded live, though not broadcast live, but it’s available to buy if anyone wants it.  A few things got tweaked for interest.  Their Raoul is despicable though.  He’s almost violent on the rooftop.  Christine should have run away from BOTH of them. :/ (There’s also a DVD live recording of Love Never Dies from Australia, which I have but haven’t watched yet for some reason…I saw the show live in London and…meh.  Also there’s a filmed version of David Hasselhoff in Jekyll and Hyde running around somewhere…but frankly, I’d rather listen to the music than watch the show…it’s so dark.)

I think a live Mary Poppins is a likely candidate.  I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the musical, which I saw done by a very good regional theatre.  I kinda thought I’d burned out on it as a kid, but there was just enough new material to make it fun.

The Little Mermaid never really traveled properly, did it?  The Broadway show was SO beautiful, and then it went to Utah or something and the costuming looked hideous…and now I think they have a reduced version that kids theatres perform…what’s with that?  The music, certainly, was much better than what they’ve added back into Aladdin.  So sure, if Mermaid’s never getting a proper run in L.A. or anything, I’d like to see them do it live.

Oliver! Is a likely candidate.  In my experience, that and Music Man and Annie are performed more often than any other shows, likely because they have such a large cast of children (This might also be off-putting to people putting on a live show.)  Since the new Annie movie just came out, I’d give that a few years.

Bashful sold pharmaceuticals, with an emphasis on sunburn creams.
