ParticipantI have some faint hope that at least some of Hook’s bad past will be revealed, only because the guy who plays Blackbeard was allegedly filming again recently. It’d be laughable if they have him still alive in present day, but with any luck his purpose in being in the show at all, even if it’s in a flashback, will be because some truths are coming out regarding Hook.
But even if Emma does find out all about Hook’s past and the type of person he really is, I do fear that she’ll ultimately be all forgiving. They’ve said that the theme of this season is not giving up on those you love. They’ve set it up so Emma’s reflecting on that time she didn’t forgive Lily for having lied and what a mistake that was. Unless they bring Lily back in present day and she’s evil and it’s proved that Emma was right not to trust her, I can’t see Emma not forgiving Hook. If they’re gonna have Belle forgive Rumple for such personal and private betrayals, (and even if she’s initially mad at him you know they’ll sort it out), then I see Emma forgiving Hook as well, and with both relationships it’ll happen far too easily in a rug sweeping way because that’s just how this show deals with things like that. We can probably even add OQ into this mix, if Robin doesn’t already know that Regina actually killed Marian in the original timeline, (which, I dunno why that wouldn’t have been the first thing Marian told him, but whatever), the stuff with the mirror could reveal that to him and his faith in her could momentarily waver, but they’ll resolve it by season’s end. And if they’re setting a precedent that a good man like Robin is able to overlook how his girlfriend killed his wife, then really, anyone should be able to forgive and forget anything of anyone.

ParticipantI’d expected Aurora’s appearance to be baby related (Sarah tweeted something about Aurora looking after the baby a little while back), and I’d expected her scene would also be Ella’s scene because babies. But I’d hoped they’d be hanging at the park together or something, so Will could be involved. Seeing now that they’re inside and the scene has nothing to do with Will, judging by the press release its purpose is to set up Emma feeling like she really missed out, my hope is fading that there’ll be any Will/Ella interaction at all, because I’ve never anticipated Ella being in much more than one scene. *sigh*
I do hope that’s supposed to be Ella and Thomas’ second kid. Apart from the fact that it looks way too young, it’d also be kinda stupid if first time mother Ella was teaching a parenting class.

ParticipantHonestly I was starting to wonder if they intended for her to have given it to Henry, which is why they released that deleted scene. So I was kinda relieved to see that she’s definitely still wearing it.

ParticipantA couple of eps ago there was a shot where I thought we might have seen the second chain still around Emma’s neck, but couldn’t be sure. So I’d just like to take a moment to appreciate this from 406…

ParticipantHope Cinderella’s scene(s) involve Will and we get mention of Ana.

ParticipantThat look of glee on Ingrid’s face when Emma blasts the hole in the wall is kinda creepy.

ParticipantAlso, anyone think Belle’s reflection was actually telling her lots of truth she didn’t want to hear?
Yup, things she probably has tucked away in the back of her mind all the time, the kind of things we try to avoid thinking about, but they’re still there nonetheless, and the magical mirror drew them out and made her confront them, like a bad dream draws things from our subconscious.

ParticipantI enjoyed the overall feel of this ep. It felt very “fairytale” IMO, and that’s something I haven’t really felt from the show for a while. Maybe it felt that way because it was a throwback in time to the Ogres War and by the end it pretty much connected up to where Skin Deep was about to kick off, so it felt like an actual missing piece in the FTL history we already know. It wasn’t a random Snowing flashback that contributed nothing to the overall history, it was worthwhile in that it showed us why Belle was inspired to step up and sacrifice herself to save everyone. Even Maurice giving Belle the “you’re staying in your room until you come to your senses” punishment felt like a Skin Deep throwback because it’s a (milder) version of the story Regina had Rumple believe about how Maurice had locked Belle in a tower. Skin Deep is one of my favourite eps, so it’s probably not surprising that I enjoyed Family Business because it gave me that old feeling again.
That being said, I wanna slap Rumple upside the head more than ever for how he’s treating Belle and that was a big downer for this ep for me. The scene where she apologised to him for keeping secrets and how she knows he’d never do the same to her, and he let her believe that she was right, made me want to flip all the tables.

ParticipantI think maybe it’s just because the mirror was in “spell mode” when it had Belle transfixed, but when Rumple was back there later, it wasn’t switched on (so to speak), so at that point in time, it was just a mirror.

ParticipantIf Ingrid froze Helga, could she still be an ice statue somewhere, capable of being thawed out? I wanna say no because that’s something that should be included and explained in any post-OUAT Frozen stuff if Anna and Elsa gain an aunt (who is younger than them), and I doubt they’re allowed to add to the Disney canon that much. But on the other hand it’d be a way they could write Anna and Elsa out of the show and get them back to Arendelle if they go to find and thaw their long lost ice statue aunt. Ingrid wants her happy little family of three, including Emma who looks like Helga, so having Anna, Elsa and Helga reunited as a happy little family of three might be a way to twist that ending when Ingrid’s plan backfires.
