Re Bonnie killed Lila: that makes a lot of sense, actually. She’s clearly in love with Sam. But it could be a red herring as well since they keep teasing various people and their motives.

Having thought about it some more, I’m convinced (until I see next week’s ep that’ll disprove it LOL) that Bonnie killed Lila. She wants to be with Sam but isn’t allowed to touch and has accepted that, but then Lila gets to do ALL the touching, so Bonnie wants her eliminated because jealousy sucks. Even though she wants to get rid of Lila, she doesn’t want Sam implicated because she loves him, so she waits until he’s out of town, because then he’s got an air tight alibi so even if it did come out that he was sleeping with Lila, he couldn’t be a suspect. But even though Bonnie knows all the tricks to cover up a murder, one thing she CAN’T control is Sam’s actions, and the idiot had to go and screw up her plan by driving back to town that night.

Also, another thing that I’ve been wondering…has it actually been explicitly stated that the trophy was the murder weapon? Or are we just assuming that because it was covered in blood? Like, is it possible that when they got there Michaela was holding it, (having taken it from Asher) and she walked in in the dark, almost tripped over Sam’s body, dropped the trophy in the pool of blood and then went to curl up in the corner and freak out? Could an injury from that trophy even result in such a big pool of blood? Or did someone else stab/shoot him and the bloody trophy is an epic red herring?

Just listened to the AfterBuzz podcast for this ep and one of the hosts threw out the idea that Bonnie killed Lila, either out of jealously, or maybe she was attempting to protect Sam. I think that’s a really interesting idea, considering in this ep we had Annalise saying that Sam’s the person in that house that Bonnie cares about protecting.

They also talked about how the scratches on Wes’ wall are shown again in the promo and how there’s gotta be something to do with the guy who lived there before that’s gonna come out, and that reminded me how in this ep Rebecca even referred to Wes as “Rudy2.0”. Then I googled and found a thing that I wouldn’t say is spoilery because it doesn’t give specifics, (I actually wanna try to stay spoiler free for this show because the twists are so good)…

We’re actually going to learn a lot more about Rudy, the mysterious law student who inhabited Wes’ apartment before him that apparently went crazy. “I want that to be a slow burn story, but we will definitely understand how those scratches came to be,” says executive producer Pete Nowalk, who humored me when I floated a theory that the Bonnie could have something to do with his breakdown. “You’re not far off at all. No theory is far off.”

    X
So now I’m wondering what the frick Rudy’s story is gonna be and how it’s gonna be relevant.

I feel your frustration, Onyx! I am hoping that by the end of this season Regina WILL have actually realised how she can actually make her own happiness instead of blaming everyone and everything else, but it’s still frustrating that she hasn’t figured it out already. And that article that had Lana talking about the Snow/Regina scenes that are cut…just…like…their relationship is one of the foundations of the whole fricking show…but scenes that advance the development of their relationship aren’t relevant enough to be included in episodes? Really shows you what’s motivating the showrunners now, plot, plot, plot, who cares about the actual characters and how they relate to each other.

Looks like they’re not gonna start dressing Ginny any better any time soon.

Anyone know why Elsa sometimes wears that yellow bow around her wrist and sometimes not? Is it just part of her costume? Or, does it have a symbolic meaning?

I assume that’s a thing that’ll be explained when it first turns up. Makes me think of that song “Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree,” but I dunno how it’d be relevant in the OUAT context.

During the Sam/Rebecca scene I honestly couldn’t figure out if they already knew each other or not, so it’s good to have that properly clarified by the end of the ep. You could tell that SOMETHING would come from her having gone upstairs in that house, but the wallpaper twist totally blindsided me, so cool.

One thing I’ve been wondering about is how for most of them there on murder night it’s no biggie if they leave prints and DNA all over, because they’re there all the time anyway, but Rebecca was the exception. Now that’s been taken care of, because she’s been there too. Unless there’s particular stuff she touched on murder night that can’t be written off as something from when she was there previously.

Wes keeps getting in deeper with the stuff that none of the other kids know. Are they all still oblivious by murder night?

The revelation that Sam and Annalise met when she was his mistress, GAH, I love this show for making my eyes bug out in the first freaking act of an ep. I’m so curious now to know what Annalise was like back then. Wonder if maybe he evaluated her similar to how she got him to evaluate Rebecca? If so perhaps that was part of her tactic in forcing that meeting, because she knows his weakness can be revealed a situation like that?

Confirmation that Bonnie is just hot for Sam, and Annalise can’t stand her. Feels like a “keep your enemies closer” type thing, like by keeping Bonnie in that position it was insurance that Sam wouldn’t cheat with her. But he still cheated with someone else.

Was kinda surprised that Nate told her the truth so soon, was expecting that to be drawn out a bit longer.

Where (and when) is Michaela’s ring gonna turn up?

Even though Connor is a sleaze, and I wanna slap him because of poor Oliver, I can’t help but be impressed by how profecient he is with his sleazing.

Laurel, dude, you have a perfectly hot, perfectly smart, perfectly sweet boyfriend, so why with the Frank thing? It’s so twisted that she’s gonna drag him into the post-murder shenanigans now, like she’s punishing him for having slept with her as misplaced blame for her own decision to sleep with him. What exactly is she gonna ask him to do? Is she gonna go all out and try to frame Frank for the murder? If so I’m gonna end up feeling sorry for Frank, and I dunno if I wanna have sympathy for him, so I’m all confused.

Also on Laurel, she actually referred to herself a as murderer in this ep. I’m gonna guess we shouldn’t just take that statement as fact though, and she really means she’s just a part of the whole murder situation, because I can’t see them revealing who whacked Sam just like that.

Even though I question Laurel’s dating practices, that was a ballsy move with slipping the info to the juror and I love how determined she was to help the kid stay outta jail.

The crime of the week seemed so impossible to win and I had no idea how they’d get out of it. Love the way that all played out, I just wanna stand and applaud every time Annalise works the system. I loved how genuinely happy she was when she was telling them that he wasn’t gonna go to jail.

I also wonder, since this series is only 13 episodes and they’ll wrap some stuff up, what next season will entail. Another class of students? Fallout from the deaths? How will this show go on after season one?

Didn’t they get some more eps added to the order recently? *googles* They did get a couple more but the full season is still just 15 eps…

The size of HTGAWM’s pickup stems from the deal for star Viola Davis. Like other top movie actors who sign on for broadcast series, including The Following‘s Kevin Bacon, they only agree if the order is limited, so they can also pursue feature projects. No doubt that if it could’ve, ABC would’ve gladly ordered 22 episodes from the red-hot drama. X

But yeah, it’s a good question, what would S2 be about? Assuming they have plans for a S2 and possibly beyond, that’s a thing that keeps me from thinking Annalise killed Sam, because they’d have to have her guilty of murder, but getting off, and still practicing law after having been charged, potentially with first degree murder, which…I dunno if they could pull that off in a believable way?

I had a thought today: what if Rumple’s using the hat to obtain power, break the laws of magic, and try and resurrect Neal?

Well on the one hand at least they’d be keeping his motivation consistent, because his motivation for centuries was to get back his boy, and a motivation apart from just, “gimme aaalll teh powwwerrrzz”, would be nice.

But at this point it wouldn’t feel like a satisfying way to bring Neal back. It wouldn’t be like Ana on WL where she was granted another chance because her time wasn’t meant to be done yet. It’d just feel like Rumple trying to cheat the system to get what he wants.

In regard to the ‘Hook hasn’t changed’ argument…I think that’s his entire arc this first half of the season…

And that’s all well and good if it’s what they have planned, problem is it’s the perception of MANY that he’s already redeemed. The moment his season 3 promo came out branding him a hero, MANY people glommed onto the idea before we’d even seen S3, during which in the opinion of MANY he did nothing to earn the hero label. So we ended up with the people who had their minds made up that he’s some sorta heroic Prince Charming type vs the people who sit and wonder what show that other group of people are even watching. The characters (and therefore the writers) seemed to have forgotten that he was gonna leave the whole town to die, but no biggie, it’s in the long distant past of S2, so the rest of the characters can just accept him as one of the good guys now because his promo poster said “HERO”.

And I know you don’t like comparing characters, but when you look at how much someone like Regina had to struggle to even begin to be accepted, that illustrates how little effort they put into attempting to integrate Hook with the good guys in a believable way IMO, considering he’s been no angel either. The writers go hard on Regina, but gave Hook a free pass, (none of the characters even seem curious about his past and who he really is and things he’s done), the writing isn’t consistent. That makes him feel shoehorned in just because they want him there ASAP and all the time, doesn’t matter if they haven’t taken the time to build up to him being properly redeemed and then properly known by and accepted by everyone. When you start looking at a character’s presence like that, resentment grows.
