Let the dropping ratings begin…..
They’re back to S3 numbers, I believe. So I guess a decent chunk of the people who came for Frozen aren’t sticking around.
this is me everyday with most of my oncer friends Something I find odd is that I have two friends who do ship Swanfire and they are both males. I wonder if that means something?
It means that if I lived closer I’d ask you to give me their numbers. 😉 Seriously though, I outlined all the problematic elements of CS, used examples I’ve seen on tumblr of people being triggered by how it reflects their own experiences, talked about how TV shows influence society and how people form opinions of what is and isn’t acceptable behaviour…and she basically said she thought I was over reacting and over analysing a TV show. Then I reminded her that we recently had a conversation about Degrassi and how awesome it was and how it educated a whole generation (she wants her teenage daughter to watch it now)…and she didn’t have a comeback for that, so I consider my point made. :-p I just have to keep reminding myself that she has a weakness for blue eyes and for anything and everything Irish, so she’s into this nonsense on a purely superficial level.

Wow. I just finished reading Barbara’s review. It sounds like she really is dissatisfied, not just with OUAT but with Rumple, and she’s a huge fan of his. Also, just reading the comment section, it sounds like she struck a chord with several long-time viewers who, like us, are fed up, disenchanted, and alienated.
I noticed in the blurb promoting her next podcast it says: “We will be talking about the episode, my article, fan reaction and the reaction of the show’s creator on the next Let’s Talk TV Live,” and now I’m curious about the reaction from the show’s creator will entail.

So I gave her all of S3…and now she ships CS…and we had a lively discussion on Twitter where I outlined all the reasons I find it WRONG, and even though she admits she basically likes it because she finds him hot, she still said she has no problem with their dynamic at all after reading my thesis about how problematic it is…and I just…*HEADDESK*
How stupid does Emma look when she’s told Hook to do a thing, insisted he do the thing when he protests, then he does the opposite of the thing, and Emma knows he did it…then at the end of the ep she says she trusts him.

It was great to see Will again. Though I’m still worried about how they could retcon WL to get him back in SB without Ana, and he seemed a bit too…scamp-ish…which is classic Will (and I do adore classic Will) but doesn’t necessarily fit with end-of-WL Will, because he’d matured a bit, and ya know, got promoted to being a king and all. But despite my reservations, seeing him again was like a breath of fresh air.
You all are probably right about her being the foster mother, that’s the feeling I got from how she said Emma’s name. If so, I have a Dark-Curse-shaped problem with it, because the Curse was supposed to be a necessary thing for Rumple to get to our world, he spent centuries planning it, then 28 more years before he could get out from under it…but SQ could somehow pop on over to our world to be Emma’s foster mother?
I’ll be surprised if Anna trapped Elsa in the urn. I won’t be surprised if SQ’s sister trapped her in the urn, so she’s trying to make her nieces’ relationship suck just as much as her own relationship with her sister did.
The mentions of Neal left me cold. Like, if she’s honestly that affected by him dying, why is she making out with someone, like, a week after he’s cold in the ground? And equating her relationship with Neal with her relationships with Graham and Walsh, just, no, nope, ALL OF THE NOPE. And we got the “all about the tumbl(e)rs” line again, which, just, URGH. I appreciate that they haven’t forgotten that he taught her stuff that formed who she is, but just the wording of that line, just, URGH.
