We just did half-siblings and honestly, A and E can’t mess with Frozen that way and not have people GRR HISS SPIT!

I’ll be very surprised if they make Elsa and Anna half sisters.

I won’t be at all surprised if Mitchell’s character is the Snow Queen and their aunt. It’d make Elsa/Anna the next gen Snow Queen/Whatever Their Mother’s Name Was. If Mitchell was the older sister, they can easily have her as (Snow) Queen of their native land, (like Elsa inherited rule over Arendelle), and her little sister married into Arendelle royalty. So because Elsa and Anna’s mother had experienced this exact situation with her own sister, who probably ended up being evil and they got estranged and whatnot, that’s why they went off on their boating adventure to try and prevent the same situation happening with the next gen of sisters too.

while on their honeymoon, Mr. Gold finds an intriguing object that makes him question whether or not he should officially give Belle control over the dagger that makes him The Dark One,

I’m glad he’s still wrestling with the decision, but I hope that if he does end up giving her the real Dagger that they don’t write it as that action diminishing the wrongness of him deceiving her in such a major way in the first place.

Anna discovers that their parents – who died on-ship during a violent storm – were heading to a mysterious destination in a quest that may have held the secret to containing Elsa’s out of control Ice powers.

Wasn’t there a theory in the Frozen fandom that their parents had been on their way to the wedding of Rapunzel and Flynn (who get a very brief cameo in Frozen)? There goes that idea.

What is that about Will Scarlet? Mysterious past pushing him to an unknown future? Watched only a few episodes of Wonderland and sure haven’t paid that much attention to the stories there, but didn’t he find his happy ending with his love there? Or did that happen all in the future? Call me confused here.

Yes he found his happy ending. After they got to Wonderland and were homeless and poor, Ana ditched him to become Queen. Over the course of the show Ana got a redemption arc and she and Will ended up with all the forgiveness and a TLK. In the finale, Will and Ana were together at the wedding of Alice and Cyrus in FictionalLondon, and then we saw them (and the Rabbit) go back to WL. Then we had a flashforward of Alice and Cyrus with their young daughter, and Alice was telling her a story about how the White King and Queen ruled WL happily ever after, the implication being that the White King and Queen are Will and Ana, (who used to be the Red Queen, but she died and was granted a second chance at life as the good person she was meant to be, making her the White Queen). So at this point in time, Will should be King-ing it up in WL, not running around SB with his “mysterious past pushing him to an unknown future”. One of my fears for S4 is that they’re gonna retcon Will and Ana’s relationship and the whole storyline of WL out of existence, figuring no one will really mind because not many people watched it.

For those of you continuing to watch in S4, what are your expectations or motivations going forward for the story? Do you think that A&E can possibly redeem themselves, given the multiple inconsistencies, narrative choices and unanswered questions?

I have no real expectations, but still feel compelled to watch.

Guess I’m mostly watching out of morbid curiosity now, just to see how much more they can screw stuff up. If they happen to hit a few correct notes along the way that’ll be a nice surprise, but it won’t mean as much as it once did, I won’t get that same sense of happy, I just can’t put the kinda faith into the show that I used to.

And as Jo said, there’s the Bobby factor. Bobby is amazeballz and I fell in love with Rumple the instant I first saw him, so I must keep watching for that, despite the fact that what they’ve done with his character at the moment is one of the things that’s pissing me off.

The more I’ve thought about what A&E did, the more I think that they were strong armed into it. They had to bump off Neal because higher ups said so, because they wanted Will on the full time roster instead, (I will try to not let this opinion tarnish my love of Will and make me resent his presence), and they wanted Emma to get with the pirate because so many viewers seemed to want it. There was no way A&E could keep Neal, they’d have had to demote him to recurring, diminish his role in the show, (which would be unfair on MRJ), and somehow show Emma believably wanting to be with Hook while Neal was still around, despite the dynamic they’d so clearly set up between Emma and both men thus far. No matter how they did it, it was gonna be a hot mess. So they attempted to write a heroic arc to send him out on, they didn’t write his death themselves out of personal protest, instead they wrote a scene for the finale to highlight Neal’s importance to Emma as a nod to how much they’d revered his character.

The problem is, if that was their intent, it was ill conceived and ill written. They managed to butcher multiple characters in the process. They’re professional writers, and professional writers shouldn’t toss canon facts (like Neal already having been a self sacrificial hero multiple times) and believable characterisation out the window for the sake of a PLOT!TWIST. If they can screw it up so spectacularly in this case, then I’m left with pretty much no faith in their ability to write consistent characters from here on in, and if I can’t have faith in the characters being consistent, then I can’t have faith in the story being good and believable.

Speaking of their writing, I find it a bit curious that half of the first 6 eps for S4 feature new writers (though Dana Horgan has been a “staff writer” and “story editor” for the show since May last year so she’s not a complete n00b). It’s almost like they’re recognising that the way they’ve been writing the show needs a shake up. That’s one other little thing that’ll interest me for S4, seeing if these new writers have any impact on the quality.

Well….The fact that we were shown Regina adopting Henry was entirely legal….I thought it ended all debate on that aspect. Regina adopted Henry fair and square

Regina: I spent all morning talking to adoption agencies. The wait lists are over two years long. But you, Gold, you know how to cut through red tape. And if anyone can work the system and find me a baby, it’s you.

Working the system is illegal. Circumventing normal practices where an adoptive family is closely investigated, including having a home visit by social services, is illegal.

And if a parent brings their baby back for a refund it’s completely unbelievable that said parent would just be allowed to turn around and walk back out with the child because there’s obviously some instability there and the people who arrange adoptions go to great lengths (under usual, legal circumstances) to ensure that children go to safe, stable homes.

For so many reasons, the explanation we got as to how the adoption happened was unsatisfactory, and from what we saw it didn’t leave me at all convinced of the legitimacy of it. Just because Regina managed to dupe the authorities and come out on top, that doesn’t mean the adoption was actually above board and legal.

I’m just saying that it doesn’t make much sense to try to go by our laws for the custody arrangements but not for all of Regina’s very serious crimes.

The legitimacy of the legality of the custody arrangement is questionable to begin with. If your address won’t show up on google maps there’s no way they’d let you have legal custody of a child.

Anyway, the point in this particular case is that Henry loves both his mothers, and the two of them had become more accepting of each other as well. If not for the bringing-back-Marian hot mess, Emma coulda just moved into one of the frillion spare rooms at Regina’s, making shared custody easy.

I hope they have something believable in store for showing Henry stuck between his mothers who are fighting all over again.

    From a TVLine article…
Elsewhere, “past history” will test Emma and Hook’s own new relationship,
…do we dare to dream that Emma might actually learn the whole truth about who Milah was and/or Hook’s history with Nealfire?

David and Kristoff having known each other makes so much sense that I’m scared to hope that it’s true. Has the actor for Kristoff been shooting much? I’ve got him on my OUAT List on Twitter but don’t recall having seen a lot of show-related tweets (but I may have just glossed over and missed them)?

She could be appearing in the show with a role that is a relevant without actually being major.

If they’ve locked her in to appear this early before filming even starts, I’d think she’s gonna be around for a while and play a major role.

Another excellent fan video: Rumple & Neal – Pieces

    Screw this show.

Seriously. HOW DARE THEY take away Rumple’s little boy from him.

I’m not gonna watch the vid because I’m positive it’d just ruin my day. The biggest waste around this whole hot mess is that the original premise of the show, Rumple being willing to destroy a world in a centuries long quest to restore his relationship with his son, it’s ended up in the trash. The notion that Rumple was cool with allowing his son to die and not do anything to prevent it is absurd. At this point I see the only really believable way to resolve it would be for Rumple to sacrifice himself (again) as a means to bringing Neal back. Or at least sacrifice his powers and become mortal again as a means to bringing Neal back. It won’t happen because TPTB don’t want Neal back, but the integrity of the original story could be restored by the end if they still cared about such things.
