Would be good to get some more Dark One history. Wonder how they’d tie it in with present day? If it’s Zoso before meeting Rumple then whose he gonna be interacting with? Not like we have a lot of characters who are that old.
[adrotate group="5"]I saw the swing ride today. It’s our big annual fair type thing and they always have that ride so I knew it’d be there but then I saw it and WAAAAHHHH.
They’ve been replaying all the PotC movies on TV here over the last few weeks. At World’s End was on tonight.
Ya know, that one where the womansiing, selfish, obsessive, overly confident pirate is moments away from stabbing the heart of Davy Jones to claim immortality and command of the Flying Dutchman. But his dear friend Will, who he’s had some ups and downs with, he’s even hit on the love of his life (one E Swann) a time or two, but deep down he really loves the kid, he did mentor him after all, he’s lying there dying. So Jack does the noble thing, he gives up his shot at the personal victory he so craves, and he lets Will stab the heart instead, so he can cheat death, and even though they can’t be together all the time so it’s not exactly the ideal situation, Will and his true love E Swann CAN still be together. Then Will gets her pregnant, and they have to separate due to reasons beyond their control, but they see each other again 10 years later and Will gets to meet his son.
Yeah, I like that story.

So last night I had a JMo dream. I’d gone to the movies, it was a special screening of a classic which I can’t recall the name of which is annoying. Simultaneously with the movie, there was a live action play of the same storyline reinterpreted with different characters that was going on beside the movie screen. Hard to explain the setup, but in the dream it worked beautifully.
Anyway, I was sitting next to JMo and we ended up having a conversation about OUAT. I was basically airing my grievances over the turn the show took and she was agreeing. I commended her on how she’d been portraying Emma in a really believable way and then the writers screwed her up and she was all. “Thank you noticing.” I vented about what they did with Neal and she agreed that it had been a poorly handled pile of crap.
It was a pretty satisfying dream. If only such frank conversations with actors were possible IRL, what I wouldn’t give to be able to honestly pick their brains.
Why do many assume, that what A&E said, is a judgment about the quality of one or the other, that soulmate is the better, higher concept?
Because if there is only ONE of something in the entire universe, that makes it more rare, precious, valuable and irreplaceable. Therefore, one’s singular soulmate (apparently) ranks above one’s replaceable true love.
I think the only times we will see Neal onwards is in flashback (like with Graham), and it only be when it’s relevant to the story.
There will be no place for a Neal flashback that’s relevant to the current story because the only person who associated with him in the past was Emma. There is simply no way for them to make a Neal flashback relevant (unless they want to elaborate on how in love he and Emma were, but something tells me they’ll never touch on that again), or even a Bae flashback. Dylan’s age and appearance would make it laughable for them to do any pre-NL flashbacks, and flashbacks to NL where Bae didn’t age would look ridiculous with older Dylan too (and anyway I’m pretty sure they’re done with NL). The only portion of time they could use Dylan for was after Bae got to our world, but he knew none of the present day characters then, so they couldn’t tie those flashbacks in in any relevant way, and anyway what would be the point of fleshing the character out more if he’s dead.
Basically, there’s no place for Nealfire flashbacks of any kind, so I wish they’d stop using that as part of their stock answer for this question. It’s patronising, like they don’t know that we’re aware and intelligent enough to realise that those flashbacks won’t have a place, so they’ll just (attempt to) placate us for now by suggesting we might see him again. Pfffft, what-ever, they just need to stop saying that.
Much as I adore photos of Puck in tutus, it makes me extra happy to see him out in the wild.
The other night I watched a doco about the mating habits of animals, (some birds have the BEST dances for attracting a mate LOL) and one of the animals they talked about was bison, and it showed a couple of males fighting over a female and almost gouging each other and I thought, “Puck’s lucky he doesn’t have to worry with that dangerous mess.”
Its clear from their pause they hadn’t really thought about the difference between the two if they ever intended their to be a difference at all and it looked like Eddy just gave an answer on the spot.
I haven’t watched it because my tolerance level for the sound of the voices of those two clowns has officially run out so I know it’d do bad things for my mood and blood pressure if I watched it…but it doesn’t surprise me in the least that it came across as a spur of the moment answer. It had likely never entered their minds before that moment that there was a difference at all. Like I said in my previous post, they’re just making crap up on the fly now. I kinda wish the question had also asked for a bonus definition of “kindred spirits” as well, just to really put them on the spot.
The fandom had an absolute fit over Rumple/Cora are soul mates thing. After this SDCC it means that Rumple and Belle aren’t as great as Rumple and Cora! Huzzah!
Rumple really coulda fallen in true love with anyone, nothin’ that special about it being Belle, just right place, right time, and both of ’em might still have another true love waiting out there coz true love can happen a bazillion times. But there will only ever be one Cora, isn’t that a lovely, comforting thought that Rumple did get to meet his one and only soul mate, whose bond to him was so supernaturally strong because she was TEH ONE that she screwed him over and left him. #soulmatesFTW
