ParticipantThat looks like a frill-necked lizard. We have those here in Australia. As for the other options, I will always love anything purple, and also love the unicorn because Emma and unicorns and swing rides that look like mobiles. đ
In other news, the other fandom I’ve been indulging in a bit of late is now having “is he dead or isn’t he” debates after the most recent ep. And because I can’t help myself with this stuff I’m leaning towards one side and am 80% sure he’s not dead and it’s all a bit deja vu. Though if it turns out he IS dead, it was a fitting, in character death, so I won’t be mad about it like I was with a certain other death.

ParticipantGotta say I never figured any of the headliners would end up all the way down here for our CC. That’s cool that you’ll get to see her! đ

ParticipantI let the writers play fast and loose with the ârulesâ since itâs a fantasy
Fantasy stories are the ones that need rules the most. With a world that’s completely imagined by a writer, it’s necessary for rules to be established and adhered to if they want their imagined world to be believable and understood by the viewer/reader. “Fantasy” doesn’t translate to “anything goes”, in fact it’s quite the opposite.

ParticipantThe other thing about the curse that kinda gets to me is that I thought it was a one-time-only thing; I didnât know it could be reused so many times to go back and forth from âourâ worldâŚthat just makes it not as big a deal, IMO. I just hope that it doesnât pop up again in season four!
I was surprised it was multiple use as well, but at least it was more believable that Pan could do it, because he had the scroll. But after that we saw Regina destroy the scroll, (was there a magical sparky thing when she tore it? Can’t say for sure but I think maybe there was?), she tore up a core part of what was needed to cast the Curse. But then she was still able to reconstruct the Curse of her own accord, off the top of her head, without the magic scroll? When the show started the Curse was painted as this singular type of seriously terrible dark magic that took centuries to construct. The multiple use of it now makes it feel watered down and not as special.

ParticipantWhy did they have Rumple say that when they knew what they were gonna do? WHHHYYY?!?!
Because they had no idea what they were going to do?
Or because they are cruel senseless worms.
Well they had to have had 3B plotted out and partially written by the time they were shooting the end of 3A. So we must assume it was the latter.

ParticipantRainbow, I hope your recovery from surgery is speedy and successfull.
Corbin, YAY for NYC! I love that crazy place. Have several friends who have been there in the last week and I’m jealous of them all because I miss that city.
Puck on a train! Change my citizenship while you’re changing his so I can vote for him!

ParticipantI feel bad for JMo having to be a spokesperson for the writing. The way she’d been playing Emma, she actually seems to have a very good handle on how Emma would naturally react to both sides of that triangle. Then the writers made Emma do a sudden 180 and now JMo gets asked about SF and CS and has to make it sound like it all makes sense when I’m pretty sure (based on the way she’d been playing Emma’s interactions with each of them) that she was caught off guard by where the story ended up just as much as we were. The fact that she implied that if Neal were still alive, he’d probably be Emma’s TL is the main thing I’m taking from her comments. And she said it’d be hard but sometimes good things don’t come easy. JMo gets it, she knows what a beautiful and complex relationship SF is and how much potential there was for them if they’d stuck it out. Even if the writers can’t appreciate that, I believe JMo does, and I feel bad for her that she has to try and toe the party line in interviews now.

ParticipantGolden key hit the nail on the head.  The mysteries to tease out no longer seem  important, because the answers are generally âit was magicâ or â it does not matter, because the characters involved will never appear againâ
Yeah, the speculation side of things, coming up with crack theories, trying to put the puzzle pieces together, that’s been my fave stuff to do. It’s why I love spoilers, because it’s like getting clues to help figure out the mystery and guess which way the story might twist next. But when it seems that the writers themselves aren’t really interested in these things, it takes the fun out of the speculating because what’s the point in spending hours thinking about these things if, in the end, these questions will never be addressed in canon anyway.
I’m really not inspired right now to think too hard about what might be in store for S4. Have done some brief speculation regarding Elsa, but nothing like how I’ve gotten consumed with speculation about characters and potential story lines in the past. Maybe that’ll change as more info leaks, but right now I’m just not inspired because judging by past experience, there’s not much point getting invested in the speculating when more often than not there’s no payoff.

ParticipantNeal had so many connections and ties on this show itâs not even funny. His importance does NOT hinge on whether Swanfire was endgame or not. There are a million different possibilities here, a million different paths the writers could have chosen to explore with this character. And none of them are contingent on Nealâs relationship with Emma. NOT. ONE.
THIS! This is why I never understand how on earth people can say that he was just a plot device who had no further use and his story was done. Nothing could be further from the truth. So much wasted potential with his character. *SIGH*

ParticipantThose “Why I ship SF” and “If it weren’t for Bae” posts are both perfect. As is that gifset! Blatant parallels are blatant.
