ParticipantALL OF THIS POST!! It’s long, so I’ll just link and copy and paste the final paragraph…
And as a final note on the absolute godawfulness of the writing on OUAT this season I would like to say that having Emma get together with Hook as a reward for a sacrifice he made is gross enough. Having this happen at the end of a season in which Neal – the boy whose mother Hook ran off with, the boy he later sold to an evil old man – made the ultimate sacrifice, giving up his life for Emma and everybody else… having it happen literally minutes after this sacrifice was underlined by the writers… it’s mind-boggling writing. In the bad way. I can see how if you ship Captain Swan you might get caught up in your joy and not notice – maybe not even care if you did. But I noticed. I cared.
And I lost all faith in these writers.

ParticipantPsych
Arrested developmentI still need to get caught up on the last season of Psych. That show is good times!
Arrested Development was brilliant. So cleverly written, so witty, so highly inappropriate.

ParticipantText, the way you wrote about the show like a relationship gone down the tubes is so accurate, it hurts. Perfectly stated!

ParticipantCould have sworn I’d posted something in this thread earlier today, but I don’t see it, and now I don’t remember exactly what it was I said. Bugger.

ParticipantGrimm, I’ve no idea which seasons of Dr Who are available on Netflix or how far back you intend to watch, but be sure to not skip Tennant’s years, because his incarnation of the Doctor is simply wonderful in every way. If Tennant’s Doctor doesn’t get you to appreciate Dr Who, then nothing will.

ParticipantI’m not a dedicated viewer of TV shows these days like I used to be. Back in the day I’d have something I had to tune in for every single night. These days I barely remember what days shows are on. I haven’t become a dedicated viewer of a new show in quite a while. Back in ’07/’08 I got dedicated to a new show called Moonlight, was a vampire show that hit a bit too early, just before the vampire craze really took off, and it got axed after 16 eps. I’d gotten so attached to it in that short time that I was involved in the campaigns to try and bring the show back, but it didn’t work. OUAT is the only new show I’ve gotten attached to since then, the pilot sucked me in, I couldn’t help myself even though I’d sworn off immediately getting so involved in another new show ever again, lest it end up as another Moonlight situation.
At the moment I’m excited for the new season of 24. The first few eps was like seeing long lost friends again, and I hadn’t realised how much I’d missed them.
The Voice- As a musican myself The Voice is so much of a respectable tv show because it is strictly singing not drama and I love that (NBC)
I love our Aussie version of The Voice, but mainly for more shallow reasons. One of our coaches is Ricky Martin. 😉
Shows I watch more regularly these days tend to be competitive reality stuff involving cooking or home renovation.

ParticipantHeather, I am so sorry you had to go through that!

Participantprompt: emma’s afraid of heights
“This is a bad idea,” Emma muttered, standing a few feet off from the base of the bare-bones, half constructed house in front of her. She crossed her arms, warily watching her boyfriend hoist himself up, testing his footing on the framework.
“Is not,” he shot back, stubbornly, climbing up clumsily to the second floor, settling down on the frame and swinging his dangling legs haphazardly as he gave her a cheeky smile. “This whole development got abandoned when the contractor went broke, nobody’s gonna notice we’re here. Didn’t even have to break into anything this time, we’re fine.”
“I’m not climbing onto a death trap just because you’re not actually breaking the law,” she said, wryly, rolling her eyes.
He raised his eyebrows, a wide grin spreading across his face.
“Are you afraid of heights, Emma Swan?” he asked, delightedly, a teasing lilt in his voice.
“No,” she said, quickly, shooting him a dirty look. “I’m reasonably concerned about climbing on a half-finished construction zone that could collapse at any time.”
“Uh-huh,” he grinned, bouncing a little on his beam, making Emma cringe automatically. He bit his lip, swinging down off the beam and haphazardly making his way back down.
“Hey,” he said, grabbing her hand, tugging her toward him. She grumbled a little, giving him a Look, walking into his arms anyway. “Come on, baby, it’s safe. House frame’s gotta be sturdy, right? I’m not gonna let you get hurt, you know that.”
“Yeah. Guess I do,” she muttered, cracking a small smile and nodding a little.
“Awesome,” he mumbled, grinning widely and pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
He led her over to the building, pointing out the best spots to get her footing. He trailed just behind her, patiently rambling on nonsense— it wasn’t really distracting from the climb, but Emma appreciated the effort.
She pulled herself up onto the beam carefully as Neal held an arm out to steady her. She settled down, gripping tightly to the wood, pointedly not looking down. Neal climbed up next to her—carefully, this time. He wrapped an arm around her waist, and the panic settling in her chest loosened just a little.
“Hey,” he murmured, against her ear, pointing out in front of them. “Look. Sun’s starting to rise.”
She smiled a little, looking out. “Is that why we’re up here? You know, we could still see the sunrise from the ground.”
“It’s about the perspective, Em, geez,” he grinned. He shook his head, shrugging a little. “I don’t know, I just…used to come out here by myself sometimes, ‘cause it was something to do, and it was always…nice. I mean. I just thought it’d be nice,” he rambled.
She took a deep breath and loosened her death grip on the beam, reaching out to grab his hand. He grasped her hand tightly, watching her carefully.
“You good?” he murmured. “We can go back down, I shouldn’t have dragged you up here, I’m sor—”
“No,” she said, quickly. “It’s nice. I think it’s nice,” she bit her lip. “I mean, you’re crazy. But. It’s nice.”
He grinned widely, looking all too pleased with himself. “Yeah?”
Emma rolled her eyes, smiling despite herself. “Yeah.”
(I swear every drabble that blog posts is perfection.)
