ParticipantThey don’t have threads like that on this show on accident. It’s A Thing, and I choose to look upon it optimistically.
It’s definitely a Thing! It’s really interesting how much SF suggestion there was in True North. Isn’t that the ep that August first appeared in too, or am I misremembering?

ParticipantPuck in a hat is adorable!!!
slurpeez, I like your BTTF inspired thoughts from several pages back. The Doc quote at the end of the youtube feels especially like a thing they could use on the show (it’s basically the moral of the BTTF story) and it implies that anything and everything from 3B can potentially be different.
As for the LR, whenever I look at an interview answer from A&E now, I tend to not put much stock in it. They’re proven lying trolls, particularly with the reveal from Ginny about how the Snowing/Gosh pregancy WASN’T just dumb luck like A&E had said. So they can say whatever now and I don’t especially care.
About Zelena though, well Cora is most sincerely dead in present day but we still see her in flashbacks. If they ever intend to tell other Oz stories, and they did suggest we might see more of Dorothy and we know that’s not happening in the finale, they’d still have a future use for Zelena even if she’s dead in present day. Or they’re just trolling to not give away anything about her fate in the finale. FWIW they did say there’s more death and didn’t rule out it being another major character. Adam tweeted someone about Regina the other day all “assuming she survives the finale” which obviously upset people, so he added that he’d say the same about ANY character. So basically, he’s carrying on like there could be more main character death, but we were only told that ONE will die. Again, he could just be trolling so as not to give anything away, but then how hard is it to answer a question without implying that main character death is an option still on the table? And now I’m back at saying how you just can’t take anything those trolls say at face value either way. I used to find their vague answers somewhat endearing, now I just think they’re largely useless.

ParticipantRobin knows how Marian died, so I’m sure that if that’s Marian, it’s something that’s been altered by Emma and Hook going back, because he wouldn’t have fallen for Regina if she killed his wife.
The only time we’ve seen Marian before is when she was peegnant, but Robin said she died doing a job. What she was wearing while pregant weren’t her “work” clothes.
The fact that the actress for Marian tweeted about working with a bag over her head is pretty good evidence that that’s Marian on the stake.

ParticipantJaxer, yep, Rumple always needs a payment, and you’re right, information about his son may be what he demands.
And I still think Emma will HAVE to reveal details to him if he’s even gonna help her in the first place. If she says, “So I inadvertently got Snow White captured by the Queen, can you help me out?” Rumple would counter with, “Well who is Snow White to you and why do you care…and why would you suppose I would care about the fate of Snow White enough to help you free her?” And if he just thinks Emma is a nobody, he’s perfectly capable of finding a way to free Snow without Emma’s help. So I think it’s likely unavoidable that Emma will spill her guts to him.

ParticipantOkay, but…how do we bring back Rumple then? Or get Emma & Henry back to their families?
Well after what Rumple just did in present day, he’s earned a timeout in the Naughty Corner of Eternal Goo. They can always find another magical whatever to be able to summon him back again if Zelena dies in the past and he never gets resurrected with the Key in FTL. The whole second half of the finale could be Emma and Henry reuniting with their family if they end up back in NYC if Zelena dies in the past. Actually that could work nicely, the first half is Emma witnessing all this stuff with her parents in the world she came from and finally accepting that yes, being where they are IS her home, and then the second half, which is called There’s No Place Like Home could be about finding a way for everyone to reunite if Emma and Henry end up back in NYC and everyone else is back in FTL if Zelena dies in 321 in the past (wasn’t Bex only credited for 321?). Just as long as Emma retains her memories from her time travel adventure (and retaining memories of events that have been undone is part of the baelfire principal in WoT), she’d want to find a way back to her family.

ParticipantEmma will have to tell Rumple about Zelena if she’s gonna tell him how she even got there. And yes, Rumple will want Emma back in her correct time, but he doesn’t know how to time travel, and all Emma knows about what Zelena did is, “Well she had your brain and Regina’s heart and my dad’s courage and my newborn baby brother and there was a something or other drawn on the ground and swirling fire,” and that’s probably not enough for Rumple to go on to whip up a spell to send Emma back. Easiest way to get Emma back could well be to kill Zelena in the past, because then the time travel spell never happened in the first place.
Phee
ParticipantI don’t think Emma’s gonna go see Rumple until after she’s buggered up Snowing getting together though. Then she’ll go to Rumple for help, and he’ll be all, “I dunno you, why would I help you,” and he won’t believe she’s a time travelling Saviour because no one can travel through time, but if she busts out the, “I know your son, Baelfire, you let go of his hand over the portal and that’s why you need the Curse, to find him,” that would make Rumple listen to her. I think someone mentioned this in a previous post a bunch of pages back, but all it would take would be for Emma to slip and refer to Neal in past tense and Rumple would demand all the details. And it doesn’t matter if Zelena’s in Oz, Rumple can access magical lands easier than our world if he puts his mind to it, and “No matter where you go in time, I will find a way to kill you.”

ParticipantIf you look at the super high res version of the pic at full size, it does look like there might be some subtle differences between that and Snow’s costume, plus one glaringly obvious one, the person on the stake doesn’t seem to have the fur collar. Perhaps Marian was impersonating Snow for some reason and got captured, and they’re bringing Snow in to show her what happens to people who associate with her in any way.

ParticipantZelena: Not where, when. I’m going to change the past.
Zelena’s magic has successfully opened up a time portal. Mark my words. Rumple will find his son again. It’s just a matter of when.
If Zelena gets offed in the past, (which would bring Neal back in the present), her death will be similar to Cora’s in that the tool they were gonna use for their own nefarious plan ended up backfiring and killing them. With Cora, she gave Snow the candle to try and corrupt her, and in the end, Snow used that candle to end Cora’s life. If Zelena’s got some failsafe whatever pendant magic that ensures her time spell still gets cast, and it backfires by getting her killed in the past before she even gets to do a bunch of this wickedly fun stuff she reveled in so much, then her own plan’s backfiring on her just like Cora’s did. Like mother, like daughter. And they’re all about the parallels and junk right now.
