When I saw Bobby’s tweet, I was struck by the “already” which sounded like he saw him very recently, as in, more recently than the filming of 315 which was quite a while ago? I’m guessing Bobby and his fam popped off home to Scotland as soon as the season wrapped? Why would he even mention seeing him soon, because it’s not like they’re likely to hang in the same social circles, you’d think they’d only likely see each other at work? This may just be the wine talking, but SHENANIGANS.

Also acceptable would be if he goes to kiss her and the necklace acts like a forcefield of sorts and blasts him backwards to protect her from the curse. (But I think they’ll probably opt for the kiss to happen instead. This alternative just popped into my head and made me chuckle because it’d be similar to how he got pushed back when he kissed her at her door.)
I am of the opinion that it’s the only way they could think of to get another CS kiss. And if you have to come up with random PLOT to make people kiss then there are serious issues.
This! I reckon he’ll kiss her in a moment when Henry’s being threatened and he’ll do it to make Zelena give Henry back. Which is all well and good from the perspective of showing Hook actually considering the safety of a Stiltskin boy this time around, but the whole kiss aspect of it is still contrived, just so they can get in another kiss. They could have written a story where Emma genuinely falls for him and gotten the kiss that way, and as a natural byproduct of that, he’d be protecting Henry. Instead they had to cook up the cursed kiss situation in order to make it happen.
That necklace must have had powerful magic attached to it to survive one of the most powerful curse ever cast. The only magic stronger then a curse? True Love. Isn’t that what the show keeps beating us over the head about? Or have I gone crazy?
You’re not crazy. That thing was a cheap, Made in China keychain from a convenience store, yet it SURVIVED BEING CURSED! It SURVIVED BEING MERGED INSIDE THE BODY OF THE DARK ONE. We don’t only have Belle’s words to go on, that object proved itself powerful by the mere fact it still existed.
New on the spot crackpot theory. Hook’s kiss will take away her powers but the necklace will have a role to play in her getting her powers back because TRUE LOVE, it’s what the necklace is and it’s what Emma is.
It appears like Walsh’s purpose was to keep Emma distracted and away from Storybrooke, but I honestly don’t know with this show anymore.
Yeah it does. The only way I can think of that it would make sense for Zelena to have been the one sending Hook for Emma is if Zelena’s plan changed and Walsh didn’t know. Like, maybe his proposal wasn’t part of Zelena’s plan. He was just meant to keep her away, not actually fall in love with her, because if he loved her there was a risk of him telling her the truth. And if she loved him in return by the time Zelena was having to reevaluate her plan, then cursing his kiss would do no good because there was a chance it’d be TLK so the curse wouldn’t work. But that whole theory potentially gets debunked because Walsh got mean real fast, so I guess he DIDN’T love her at all? Or was that just monkey madness taking over what he truly felt for her? I dunno, I’m just talking myself in circles now.
Random 4am pondering…and I don’t even know if I buy it myself, but now that it’s in my head I need to put it out there or I’ll never get to sleep. LOL
I dunno if I’m convinced that Zelena wanted Neal in particular to use the Key, or if she wouldn’t have minded if Belle did it, but let’s say she did want it to be Neal, because she wanted him out of the way.
She’s now gone and cursed Hook’s kiss, and she knows how bad Hook wants to kiss Emma, and how much he’d want to prevent her family being killed, so she’s probably banking on it happening. If it DOES happen, that kiss would effectively be cursing Emma to be powerless.
If her TL were still around, a kiss from him would break Emma’s curse and she’d have her powers back. And that’s why Zelena wanted Neal to use the Key, so he wouldn’t be around.
How she could have known that they were TL at that point in time, they’ve now set her up to be all knowing of everything that happens everywhere, so let’s just say she had spies in NL, if not in our world.
In related ponderings, I’m now wondering if maybe it WAS Zelena who sent Hook to get Emma (though Hook may not have been aware it was Zelena). That theory has never made much sense to me, and I still think she’s crazy to have wanted Emma to get her memories back and return to SB, but perhaps she decided that even Emma without her memories was a loose canon who might someday come after her, so better to draw her in and eliminate her. Also, the only way to get Neal and Rumple separated, to have Rumple’s mind clear and useful, was for Emma’s magic to be in town. And if Emma’s magic was around to separate them, then Neal would be eliminated once and for all, and that brings us back to Zelena wanting to curse Emma’s powers away and for there to be no way of that curse being broken.
And then if it comes out that it WAS Zelena who sent Hook, thus making him feel responsible for some of the crap that’s happened, that could be another motivating factor for a heroic, redemptive, potentially sacrificial act to make up for having helped the enemy (even if he did so unknowingly, but I wonder about that bit, just because he’s so clearly hiding something major).
Snow and Regina have come a long way, and that’s nice to see, because I’m sure that each of them had wished that they could have had a close familial relationship. Only on this show, however, can two characters have a convo that is all, “It’s kind of understandable that you killed my mother, considering she killed yours and all,” and have it sound like an ordinary, every day kinda conversation.
I do agree with everyone who is saying that Regina needs to apologise some time.

No, you’re not! Those are the reasons I had Hook pegged as the death pretty much from the moment we got the spoiler, and I still feel the same way about his story arc.
When people would say (before the death spoiler) that Hook would have no further use to the story, I’d say how he still had his ship, so if ever they needed to travel somewhere en mass, he’d be the go to guy, and would still be a useful character. But now they’ve taken away his ship. He’s not always wearing the hook. People are calling him by his actual name. Feels like his story is coming full circle to me, and he’ll end up back at the man with good form who we saw in his Navy flashback when he does do something truly selfless and heroic. That will be the moment of his redemption, and would be a fitting conclusion to his story.
Now I’ve gone on a tangent and forgotten what I even came to post.
I enjoyed your tangent! If that IS why they’ve done this, and it IS what they have in store for the future, then I’ll be able to say, “OK, I concede, you had a reason to do it.” I still won’t like it, but I’ll concede that there was actually some sort of method to their madness.
Usually when we’re in the home stretch of a season, I have mixed emotions of “I can’t wait to see the next ep” and “but I don’t want to run out of eps because then we have to wait months for more.” But right now I’m just ready for the season to be over so I can properly evaluate whether or not this story is a lost cause.
